Ty frogster/runewaker/Gameforge fro breakng knight

Knight is now officially broken, we were in gch earlier today and our tank is complaining baout wws not working properly and his taunts not working like they use to jsut thought I'd let you know. Tank who cant taunt on annelia to get Herl = dead mages.


Also u broke annelia... again... back to hwo it was... we were waiting for the pull.. and got locked out thanks -.-

so what about the part of annelias strategy where it says no AOE's unless u wana wipe dont u understand?XD tanked annelia on K/r without taunts as pretty much all classes exept k/s only have aoe taunts. - Taunts work different now - its no longer a 10sec ffa dps as much as u like. So yay no longer a reason to play k/s :P

just do it like the sane people do and dont go full out single target dps on a fight where the tank cant use wws. Its the only fight involving real offtanking anyways. its fun :P

the no port thing sucks tho >< .....thats just plain stupid of rw ><


and noone else has complained about wws - i havent noticed anything but then again had limited playtime since the patch - might wana elaborate on what u think has been changed.

Being as they have done no tweaking to Knights since the patch that had hidden effects to Knights about 10 patches ago...I highly doubt it is the game being as there are many Knights capable of playing the part.

There has been some undocumented changes, including the one where known stats are not so known anymore. :(

taunts now set ur aggro to thehighest in party for all targets they hit and + the aggro of that skill + 5%

how exactly the % works i have not tested yet. They were inteded to get u aggro back from a loss. They were not inteded to give K/s the ability to tank without a mainhand weapon for 30sec. - i for one on one hand miss my 10sec no aggro worry skill for some situations; but at the same time like the fact u cant afk tank anymore XD

i still kinda want holy strike to get a multiplier of around 3.5 instead of the current 2.5, but thats mostly for fights like annelias where u shouldnt aoe. (any fights addspawns are inteded to be handled by offtanks/dps)

kk ty google so you're saying they changed how taunts work? b/c our k/s tank said (not sure which taunt) but when herl spawned and before he could taunt to pull him, now it's not pulling him when he taunts.

Taunts were changed yeah (check the patch notes) but I also heard someone saying their taunt completely failed to work today. Looks like they might have accidently broken certain taunts.

Some explanatory note on the changed aggro skills:

We received many questions regarding the latest changes in taunts and many of you were confused by the changes and didn&#8217;t know how to deal with it.
Therefore we&#8217;d like to explain them a little more.
Before Patch 4.0.9.:
When using a taunting skill the target was forced to turn against you for a specific time. You had to increase your aggro during this time frame in order to keep it once the buff was running out.
After Patch 4.0.9.:
When using a taunting skill you get the amount of aggro that is the on the top plus an additional amount based on percent. You have to directly increase your aggro in order to keep it.
So what changes?
If a DD/Healer is asserting too much aggro, you can simply &#8220;claim&#8221; his aggro and continue building it up afterwards. Nonetheless the DD/Healer has to stop building up aggro at once.
If the Tank dies, the Off-Tank can easily catch up. He can now take over the aggro even if the fight was already going on for a while.
You can&#8217;t use Taunts in trash groups as a tactic any longer. Before the patch you we&#8217;re able to do things like: A Mage is stunning a trash group, Tank is taunting trash group, all DDs are bursting the trash group during the taunt buff time. Now this is no longer possible, you&#8217;d have to change to a rotation like follows: A Mage is stunning the trash group, all DDs are bursting at the trash group, as soon as the stun runs out the Tank has to use his taunt to take the aggro over.
We hope that you can all agree on giving it a try. We know that you Tanks are awesome and the shields of every group. If it should turn out that this change makes it impossible to play tanks, we will forward your opinions.

So basically, once tank use taunt, we are forced to stop DPS-ing, otherwise tank will not be able to hold aggro.

How is that going to help in fight, especially if we create tons of DPS in first 20 seconds of boss fight, and most fights don't last much longer.

I've heard from several people that certain taunts are not working at all, no matter if anyone else is healing or dps'ing. I didn't manage to test this myself yet though but the amount of people that have said this so far is a little concerning.

uhm, wheres the problem of letting someone else shoot at Herl Grafu and then take over? or just send the person who tanked the second bear to do it, if he lived through the bear, he will live through everything Herl throws at him - 1 or 2 hits on Herl and run to the tank ... or off-tank it completly , Herl lives only 10-20secs anyway.

but - AoV should still work as long noone else starts DPSing Herl until the boss actually reached the Knight ... just not "free DPS as soon as he spawns".

yea yoman thats what we do, but we couldnt hae a dps bring herl to us and have our tank taunt to pull it off him like last time pretty much, we can sitll do it it jsut changes thigns.

I tpretty much makes k/s useless b/c of all their aoe taunts and soem don't work.

Actually ... what I understood from the Knight's taunts now is that they are based on the Highest Aggro in the party.

I haven't personally tried it but ... it shouldn't give the Knight 100% aggro for the entire duration. It will give the tank the aggro of the highest aggro for that specific mob + a % and to attack the target to ensure that the tank has enough aggro for a while.

Example:
Mage hits boss and gains 1000 aggro.
Knight uses taunt and will gain 1000 aggro + 15% of 1000 aggro.

Example#2:
Nobody hits boss.
Knight uses taunt and will gain 0 aggro + 15% of 0 aggro.
