Back after a year need info :D

So I decided to come back to RoM after trying to find other mmos to play which in my opinion none can compare to the game play of RoM. Anyway I would like some info on how the game is going now.

1. My guess is the game is still cash shop dependent at lvl 50+ is this correct?

2. I know you can now by diamonds via ingame venders(still true?) is it worth it to buy diamonds from them?

3. Best server to play on? Back when I played I had a level 56 in Osha and no one would help me level since I did not have the best gear(no money to buy cs items back then) which was really annoying.

4. OP classes? Back when I played the scout was OP which class is it now?

5. Pets were like a money pit do they still suck money?

Anything else you would like to put in would be great. I would just like some insite on how the game is going atm and what to expect as I play.

1. I'd say 60+ now. I was able to quest with no issues using unstatted HoS gear past the next few zones. Even then, you should be able to get to level 65 without any issues. Most of the instances below level 60 are easily burnable with 2-3 geared people as well.

2. No, you can no longer buy diamonds from the game. :(

3. Govinda!!! But really, I think its just the guild. Good guilds are usually relatively willing to help players gear up.

4. Not sure there is an "OP" class now. There are people screaming Rogues are OP, but in an instance, i found that Warriors, Rogues and Mages, even the nerfed scouts, do pretty much the same DPS using RT/Shell gear and Tomb/Crimson stats.

5. Compared to the current, inflated prices of gear, I'd say no.

The current situation with the game is relatively sour due to a series of disasters, although they have all been resolved (besides most current one), players are still unhappy.. First, chests went missing and people lost items, followed by a series of mailbox, housing breakdowns and cash shop sales expiring before they came up, then Siege War being completely broken.

As you can see, the most current issue is somebody hacking accounts to steal player's gold (although this only applys to players with tens of millions of gold), and is causing a lot of unhappiness.

But for the game itself, I would say it has improved a bit. People complained about pay to win, so Shell gear was implemented. You run minigames for Phirus Shells, and you can buy gear pieces (slightly inferior to those in instances) that comes with a nice stat (or sometimes not so nice stat).

You can also farm Ancient Mementos and purchase weapons from 6 man instances everytime a new 12 man is released. Currently, this is available for Kawak's Tomb (lv 62) and Sardo Caslte (lv 67).

Thanks for the quick reply! So since you can't buy diamonds in game anymore is there a way to securely buy diamonds from people? Or is it still "im selling diamonds you should trust me to gift you the item". Also with the new 3rd class what level can you get it and is it worth leveling? Money making how easy/not easy is it now? I know before if you didn't start on your crafting skills right away you pretty much had no money and the majority of the money came from selling statted gear on the AH.

I wasn't here back then, so I don't know how diamonds sale worked those days, but as of now, the tradition of dias selling is that the dias seller sends the items first, then you send the gold. So no, there is no "secure" way to sell diamonds, but buying? Usually yes. Unfortunately, because of that, players often don't trust anyone thats below level 65, so you might have to buy from your guildies (who will usually trust you).

With the new third class, there are 2 zones that get it to level 50 (or 55+ if you level during double XP).

Yes, third class is worth leveling. The 2 new massive zones is like a powerleveling zone. The quests give the same XP as a normal quest 15 levels higher. And the zones are really pretty, so even for the sake of exploring, I'd say its quite worth it. :D
Currently, the daily quest that gves the most XP is in those zones, so it often has lots of people there working on dailies.

Crafting = losing money now, as far as I know. Unless you go after potion making, and even then, you'd be making tiny amounts of gold for lots of work.

How easy/hard it is to make gold really depends on the player. There is lots of ways to make gold, but some players are able to exploit it, others are not. Selling nice crimson stats (from phirus shell gear mentioned above) using the 4 puris you get from leveling to 50 will definately be a great way to give yourself capital to invest into more puris. That was how I got myself started. Of course, diamonds will also be very useful if you are willing to buy them with real $$.

Ancient Mementos are also a nice way to make gold, although it would take LOTS of time. The same with Energy of Justice (another form of phirus shells) events in the level 70 Tergothern Bay zone.

I'm going to make a suggestion, if you haven't already started the updating process:

Download the current game installation files, then remove your existing game installation. (This will only remove the game files, not your RoM data files.) Then do a fresh installation. This should result in a much smaller set of updates that will need to be downloaded and installed when you start the game client.
