Note to my self: Do not visit gold seller web site - Ditto. :D

Just sticking my nose back in here for a bit...

That's not just a note that RoMage should write for himself. Everyone should do exactly the same--write a note to themselves not to visit a goldseller website or a hacker website. You do not need to sign up, log in, buy gold, or download a hacking program in order to get your computer infected with malware. That can be accomplished simply by visiting the site. It's called "drive by" infection, it can be accomplished in a number of different ways, and any one or a number of nasty little beasties can be installed on your computer, no matter how well "protected" it is. These beasties include keyloggers, which will record login information (passwords and other security entries) for your game accounts, bank accounts, eBay accounts, et cetera, and transmit the information back to either the website you visited, or to the "person" (I use that term with reservations) who installed the malware on the website. And then, your account(s) get accessed and...I'm sure you can imagine the probable outcome.

So, an important piece of advice:

Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.

What I tell you three times is true, people.

No matter how curious you are, just don't give into the temptation. It's as simple as that.

Can add Inbal (inactive) to that list as well. I think there were three others today, but I can't remember who. All from Govinda.

Kefkai of Artemis started this page to try and keep track of those hacked. If you are unable to edit the page, just message me and I'll add for you. I think it's important we document how many people have been compromised.

I think it's important that the owner of this page or those who can edit this page will empty it. Some of the given names on this page are accountnames. The first step for a hacker is to get to know the accountname~! The consequences of having a page with accountnames could be severe for the accountowners.

Our Customer Support is well aware of those who got hacked and those who didn't. Such a list is of no use to anyone and will only possibly lead to these accounts being compromised again. I ask you to keep your accountnames private and don't publish them in public.

If, on the off chance, somebody has not thought to work out the passwords to them yet, they will certainly begin trying now since you have just confirmed their worth as a project. Things like this are best handled in PM.

Frogster never ceases to amaze. We can't get a response to the most basic requests but they come on here creating new security breaches randomly.

I'm not sure how account names would have got on that page, every name I've been given is a player, and if their account name is the same as their player name then there's really very little that can be done as this thread contains virtually every name on that list, and also the player has been running around in game.

I'd suggest sending a PM to Kefkai explaining which names are account names and he can remove them and replace them with edited versions so we still have as complete a list as possible.

It has been asked before, without a reaction. In the end please keep in mind that this (wikiwebsite) security breach is caused by the players themself. We're merily warning you about the danger and risks this expose. In the end, it's the players responsibility to keep their accountname and passwords private. Before you start pointing fingers at us, I will point them at the players who gave away their accountnames. For those who listed their accountnames there, I recommend to change the password again to make sure you have an optimal security.

I would also like to point out Unclemart, that I appreciate the playerbase investigating as well. I understand all the concern and worries and the desire to keep track of what happens (I also have a high curiosity, that's why I like working in QA ;)), but for the sake of the players and to prevent me from having sleepless nights, please refrain from re-creating such a list either in public or private. Frogster is aware of the account hackers, and those affected should contact our Support and be patient.

For anyone who has missed our advice, we recommend everyone who has passwords older then 3 months to change them.

We will keep you informed when we have more information regarding this situation. If you have any questions or do you have more information about this issue, please contact me in PM :)

Just like to point out to everyone that this has NOT been proven at all, there's simply nothing to point to Frogster OR its players currently. The source of this problem has not been found at all, in fact almost no progress has been made at all.

I am not talking about all the hacking, I am talking about the wiki page. Please don't misunderstand this (Will edit post to make it more clear).

Don't think it would be that big of an issue, seeing as how everyone on that page has ALREADY BEEN hacked. They gonna hack em again through their character name and drain the gold/diamonds they already got?

I have an idea no one has prob caught onto these forums gives everyone's account names maybe the forum needs a revamp and we all get a user name thats different from our sign in name, I know Roeksha can only do so much as QA but maybe he can get a CM/Lead Cm to change this and give everyone a lock out period if your first password is guessed wrong to start

That is a feature already. When I made my account it wouldn't allow me to use the same name for my forum account and my game account. My forum accoutn name and my game account name are completely different and I may be able to safely say that is the case for a lot of players.
