Last night, Rawkus was hacked a second time...

I guess this is what we get for being rude to FEU - now that you need them, they'll sit back and watch you suffer. :(

I am not talking about all the hacking, I am talking about the wiki page. Please don't misunderstand this (Will edit post to make it more clear).

Man I stop paying attention to the wiki and hacking and this happens.

The Wiki page has been reverted, the damage to those accounts has already been done.

If character names are the same as account names then they've already given out their account names, the wiki is free from Frogster's grip, you can't censor it.

There's no harm in posting the information that is already known, I get the feeling that Frogster just wants to hide the number of accounts that have actually been compromised. I think I'll list the total number of characters compromised under each server as well as the total number of characters compromised.

Oh and by the way, you can't get rid of Wikipedia history, the changes that are made are saved indefinetly.

Also, a nice clever name you got there 'Incognito', making an account just to change the names on the pages.

Sorry, but homey don't play that.

This wikipage is the responsibility of the players. Frogster will not interfere on this wiki. We warned and advised those who are responsible for this page, as well as those who handed out their accountname. Whether or not you or the respective players wish to remove their accountname is not up to us.

However, please don't hold us responsible for any possible new hacks on these accounts. The first step of a hacker is to obtain the accountname. After the first step is made, many methods can be used to obtain further information.

It's very unfortunate that this many accounts have been hacked, but such a page will only make things worse and give an oppurtunity to other hackers to hack the respective accounts again. Our advise remains - Please empty this page and make sure no accountnames are visible anymore.

I will also repeat our general advise - If you have not changed your password for a longer period of time, please change it (This is a general advise which basically counts for anything, from mail to games to random websites).

WHAT is the above post serious?

first of these are CHARACTER names not ACCOUNT names DUH.
I know first hand that several of these characters do not have the same account name

If an individual wants to remove his name that's all fine but as the opinion of the company wanting to remove the page? That's ludicrous.

everyone has a right to know what goes on in this game and honestly these people have already been hacked I doubt they have very much to lose at this point...

Character names are listed, not account names as has been previously said, if the account name is the same as a character name that's the fault of whoever made the character in the first place.

There's no additional information meaning, if you were to have logged into the game and saw the person ingame you'd have the same level of information. We better just make sure to block all 'hackers' who enter the game rite rite? I think you're heavily missing the point, if the passwords were Bruted (lets hope they weren't since that would be a huge mistake on Frogster's part and entirely Frogster's fault) then well it was a huge mistake on Frogster's part. Though the way to stop Brute forcing when you're a player is long passwords that don't include dictionary words, mainly because it'd take ages to crack.

If instead it's a trojan or something to that extent then it isn't going to matter either way unless the user's system is clean.

Saying there are other 'hackers' out there and that accounts are vunerable is only a way to incite paranoia and make yourselves look like you have no idea what's going on and also makes Frogster's system's security staff look bad. The job of any and every system administrator is to make sure that your system is secure and constantly look for flaws/holes in the system.

I think everyone would be more set at ease if they talked to someone who managed Frogster's network and servers, not a CM or Quality Assurance, mainly because this wouldn't be a game of telephone going on.

Bakken, please read the post again.

We can only warn you and the user's who's names are on said list, that this may raise security issues. We can only give advice as to what you as a player can do to protect your account. We can not force you to listen to our advices.

Our statements in this thread still stand. We will assist every hacked account to the best we can. We will not stop to give advice how players can protect themselves. We will continue to investigate each reported hacked account for all possible reasons leading to the hack, this will always include both sides, ours and the players.

Again, the increase of hacked accounts is taken very seriously by us and should be by you as players as well. It should sensitize you as players for possible security issues on your side and what you can do to prevent them, as well as us to check and double-check and triple-check and then check again for possible issues on our side. This is being done.

All affected players need to contact support. Neither a wiki-page nor a forum thread will get the accounts fixed. Only our support can assist. To this point, no security breach has been found on our side and we will continue to investigate.

Please follow our advices and read the information given by us in this thread to do everything possible on your side to protect the security of your accounts.

Thank you for reading.

So after all we don't even know how accounts are being hacked. How long has been?

@ Roeksha - so it's security breach if someone goes into game and writes down all characters names while playing?!

If someone created the same account/characte name/forum ID - then yes, it is security breach, but user is at fault, not the wiki page stating how many accounts got hacked.

Nice advice, could you possibly convince your support staff to process those requests to change passwords. Personally I have waited over a week to get a response back on my request.

The numberr of hacked accounts and the severity of this issue has gone overboard. Here are my suggestions for any new players that decide to read this post:

1 When making an account do not use your Forum name, or any other online alt that you normaly use.
2 When making a character do not use your forum name or your account name as a character name.
3 When creating a password make it as long as possible include within it numbers and uppercase letters.
4 Do not use the same password for you game account and yoru forum account.
5 Do not use the same password for your game account and your secondary password.
6 NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYONE. Not even Frogster will ask for your passwords ever.
7Report suspicious activity that you see immediately (especialy if it is someone you know acting funny).

These suggestions cna help prevent you from getting hacked but in the long run it is up to all of us to be vigilant. Frogster can only do so much, and when someone decides to take the lazy way out and makes all their login info the smae that in of itself is a serious breach of security. I know that taking the easy way out is human nature but as we all have seen this may be one cause of the recent hacking going on.
