Runes of Magic US / AU

I haven't read this entire thread as it is huge so I don't know if this has been mentioned but this is what I think might be the cause of this hack fest:

A while back someone posted on the EU forums proof that they hacked the database by pasting a small portion of old user names and passwords. Some of you might remember this because its the reason we now have to use our secondary passwords to log in as well as use it for cash shop purchases.

Now, seeing as most of the recently hacked accounts are from players that have long since gone, could these accounts be from that instance? Or a possible database hacking more recently but not necessarily done in the immediate past?

Also, the hacked players we see spamming world channel is more then likely only a very small portion of the accounts actually hacked. They are just the ones we see.

To Frogster: Would you guys please step up and monitor world chat on all servers, please. Watching the same gold website message spammed by a hacked player for hours and hours just proves to me (and i'm sure other players) that you simply do not care what happens in game and just leave it all to run wild. Also, the more these messages are broadcast, the more people are going to listen to it and that is less money for you and more money for them. Since this has been going on for nearly a month or more, it's obviously working or they would just be hacking the accounts, taking the gold and moving on without bothering to run the world spam program. These guys advertise more then you do.

Wow this is alot of people buying gold, sharing accounts with keyloggers infecting their PCs, all like 100 of you hacked should have known better! Shame...Shame!

id like to know what if anything is being done about this? is there a forum response i'm not finding? cause from my end it really looks like they aren't doing anything to combat it. any information on the subject would be appreciated,

By the way I personally know someone who's account was attacked after they changed their password (as advised). Not saying it doesn't help just saying it didn't help this person. As far as not getting any info from frogster I'm sure they are embarrassed by the situation. But it's not fair to the community that supports their business venture. The players do have a right to know about their accounts they link their credit/debit card to. Hacking is illegal and so is stealing things people paid money for. I think you know we want an update from FA. This is only damaging their reputation. Remember the backlash a few other companies have gotten from their users over the improper/untimely manner in which important information regarding their personal information is disclosed. Please rectify.

5th account hacked today on RENI, Frogster wake the hell up and stop looking into it and actually do your jobs. Instead of paying you guys in diamonds maybe they should pay you with real money so you would give a crap about what is happening in the game.

Hire people who can do the deed and if you fire their arses, make sure to delete their logins, might help.

No freaking gold spammer would be stupid enough to hack accounts and hoped people would buy gold from them. So point is = INSIDE JOB or you are doing it on purpose to say we are sorry closing down the game.

Your support team and programmers are the worse in all games i've played. You get so many of us to complain, trying to help and you guys just don't care.

Keep up doing nothing and find a new job, you are killing this beautiful game.

Though I do not fully agree with everything you have said here I just want to say that Frogstire you need to make osmething that will make this kind of hacking much harder.

If the info is being stolen from an outside source, there's not anything Frogster can do other than force us to change our passwords every week.

It's rather easy to add a keylogger username / password sniffer payload to an add-on installer. Frogster has no control over that.

Yeah I could see that, though I like conspiracy theories better, im going with Chinese gold seller double agents have been placed in frogsters staff! That is so much cooler. I wonder if they turn into ninjas too?

well i was hacked on 3/30 and still not even a response to the ticket i sent...friend had it happen to her and her ticket has been taken care of and she got her gold back already...like i said its like they pull tickets out of a hat and only respond to them..not in ant order as they state

So... are the mods/admins pretty much hoping this will resolve it self?
I've been playing Rom for about 2 years and hacking has never seemed to be an issue in any server
I went on a RoM hiatus for about a month and I'm just now getting back and now there is this huge issue with hackers?!?
When/why/how did this happen?
I'm blaming it on the US+EU merge until I learn more about this. >_>
