Lady was that such needed to overkill my comments like that I'm new to this game afterall what you speak of I do not know of lolz I do appreciate the feedback though. I played this game like 2 yrs ago and only had just returned to make a new account. You cut my quote I wasn't speaking of the hacker on the taking action part that was meant to go tell Frogster or whatever you call it lolz

EH. but what can ya say. Its a blast from the past, and we shouldn't mind its business unless we are fully involved. Though if this person is truly intent on causing harm to gamers. It would be in the best interest of Frogster to have this person on their Top Priority List. Rather than Permenantly Banning the Gamer they should just fix the acc and if ya know bad things did happen by her/his hand they should ya know punish her for that, but not too severely. I believe in Second Chances, but I won't tolerate a person who keeps on doing things if they know what they are doing is wrong. I am sure she/he does know it is wrong and obviously has a vendetta for someone or a particular group. Shhhh.. If I had that power I would have given it up to an Actual GM or kept it preserved to never use. That Kind of Power should never be used by one person muchless the GM's themselves without proper authorization. It's just too much to handle.

From what it looks like, someone is using regular user names and turning them into GM's. I would imagine this requires top level clearance on the Frogster servers. However it happened it once again indicates that Frogster or one of its partners has a serious security problem somewhere. I think its safe to say that this isn't some random virus/user problem.

Vitorrio you should see of better days and turn thoughts to action. Instead of blaming the system make an appeal to it. They would have to be totally ignorant to not hear your plea. And on a Brighter Note, Frogster is doing all that they can to prevent an outbreak I can reassure you of such. Frogster will make amends for their mistakes and players as well. This Week/End was dreadful, next Week will be a new Week and I am 300% sure it is going to be wayyyy better (:

Your outlook on this situation is nice and I would love to believe what you are saying but everthing they have said and done has been different than what we asked for and wanted. As far as the hacker yeah I hope they fix it since its causing a lot of damage to players accounts.

Whispers from level 80 demanding our passwords?

A friend of mine in game just told me that he got a whisper earlier today from a level 80 named Serenitymk on Artemis. He was demanding his password in game and telling him that if he didn't he would ban his account. Of course he put the character on ignore and went about his business. No one needs your password but you. Don't do it. Don't fall pray to it. I <3 my fellow ROM players way too much and luv playing the game with ya so take my advice and report it, ignore it and play the game.

I also wanted to say thank you to the GM/CM's for getting a guildies account back. <3.

I agree, I honestly do believe they care and are also worried. But I dont think the communication has been there and all requests to know what Frogster have done have been ignored. Obviously support is being done but what of security checks?

I've also been given very conflicting information from Frogster staff, this also concerns me.

How far does the Chain Rise?!

Like I said before.... it makes you wonder where the Chain of Command is if it is an inside job and Frogster can't do anything about it, which is why they are worried. Me I wonder, but I do have my faith even though I ain't no religious redneck here lolz. We just gotta hope, not hope , know that its gonna get better (:

Kill it kill it kill it kill it *stab stab stab... wait, I'm not a rogue... Flame flame flame flame... dammit, it isn't dying fast enough!*

I'm a gamer. The whole point of most MMO's is to go out and kill things. ^.^ And yes, I understood what you meant, but the point I was trying to make is that we may actually get farther by trying to deal with the hacker ourselves than expecting Gameforge to do something.

I'm sorry, but whoever did this is probably also creating further holes in server security as we type. The longer they remain uncaught, the more difficult it is going to get to completely remove the abilities they've gained for themselves. I'm all for catching them and throwing them in jail.

As a side note, whoever is behind this has certainly accomplished one thing: No one on any server can trust a GM ever again. There's no way to really know if that person is truly a GM, or just someone exploiting the way the game works for their own purposes.

The web page doesn't have the menu with 'to the website' etc at the top of the forum page. Was just going to redeem a key and noticed it was gone. Checked different comps and other browsers in case mine was compromised, but it's the same on all of them.
Possibly the web page has been played with, and that's where hackers are getting info?

Scroll to the very top of this page, look in the center top and you'll see a blank brown space where three buttons used to be.

I was hacked once during another wave of hacking incidents. As luck would have it I was home at the time and was able to fight off the hacker with repeated log-ins.

I do not buy gold or share my password/account info with anyone (aside from my wife)

The default explanations fall well short of explaining anything in this case, where it's GM's being hacked and others portraying themselves as GM's and demanding information. Simple account sharing doesn't explain this away, unless there is indeed a rogue GM running around the Frogster offices.

It's disheartening to hear that knee-jerk reactions to plainly angry (with good reason) posts has been going on.

You know I used to laugh at all the doom and gloom posts about mages/scouts/rogues ending the game because of balance issues. Always figured a F2P game would continue forever or until they just shut down the servers.

but really how long can a game survive that has its player accounts getting hacked every day and the hackers are even able to create GM characters?

I'm sorry but this has removed an interest i have in advancing my character... Especially since I have yet to hear back from the Support ticket I submitted almost a week ago. This is just unacceptable when compared to most MMOs where the GMs have a response and solution to my issues within 24 hours.
