My account just officially got haxxxxxxed worse. First all my gold, now my toon was reported spamming gold on Grimdal. Now my account is banned. lol. Ohhhh well. Hopefully FEU has some solutions here. My toon's name is Xdruidx on Grimdal.

One thing I think all the hacked people have in common...Did we all buy diamonds very recently? Just sayin....

Cronrs, I think it isn't an issue of GM Accounts being hacked and giving power to create new GM Accounts. It's the fact when some players create a Game Account there is a small chance(a glitch in the system) that could make that Game Account a GM Account upon creation. Which that being the case.... It can't be dealt with usually until it circulates through the system fully say about 24-48 hours. Especially with only 2 mins of activity isn't necessarily enough to track the Rogue GM. I am not sure if that is the case with Frogster Systems, but on my time with Neverwinter Nights is another story.

I can gaurentee 1 thing i bet all thesepeople hae in common besides the obvious. I bet they all use add-ons maybe frogster ISNT being hacked maybe these acoutns are being hacked thru getting their info ia their addon and email? idunno jsut an idea lol

Just to clear things up, Sumarea on Govinda was NOT hacked. Also some of these people that have been hacked haven't played in months, so I am not inclined to believe that it's because of curse and/or anything game related.

Most if not all have nothing more in common other than they play ROM. Curse client was considered a possible option until several people hacked confirmed they have never used curse.

That is an old bug that has been around as long as I've been playing. It has happened to my toons about 3 times.

My guess, the GM client would be a completely different client to the one we use as players. I would also guess someone has gained access to the GM client & using that they can log hacked player toons with GM abilities.

Did anyone actually *see* this GM in person? Or did they just whisper/zone chat/world chat people? Anyone see them talk in pink?

Cause I have to think that it would be a heck of a lot easier for someone to "trick" our clients into seeing a [Soandso Level 80 GM/God] tag than it would be to actually hack the servers and make a brand new GM account. The GM/God thing is kinda suggestive of a massive troll.

Ever seen somebody do the fake card trick? Where they make a card or a piece of gear in Item Preview, along the lines of [Massive Staff of Epeenis] etc? And when you click it it has a custom text entered? That's all clientside, no hacks involved. It's a trick. If that can be done, you'd think it would be just as doable to trick the client into showing that you have a different inquiry ID.

All I am saying is, this doesn't seem like it's necessarily related to the actual hackings. The hackings seem to be being done by someone affiliated with an overseas goldseller, and this had nothing to do with goldsellers. Why would a huge network of goldsellers, which are a business, bother to troll people in whisper/zone/world chat? Especially in such an adolescent way. GM/God??? Really???

Don't get me wrong, it's freaky as hell- but I don't see what the two incidents have to do with each other besides timing.

Cause... real GM's are level 200. And they don't have second classes. Not level 80 GM/God. I smell a troll.

If I was gonna go through the massive amount of trouble it would take to actually hack the real servers- with their umptybillion layers of security- I think I would do a heck of a lot more than scare a few people in chat. And I wouldn't make a peep to anyone, cause I would be busy duping gold to sell to the Chinese gold network- and I would most likely be employed by them anyway. I would call no attention to myself, because I would know that as soon as I did, the real GM's would be all over my behind like white on rice.

The account hack thing... probably is clientside. Hacking a game server, I have been assured by people who know computers better than me (cough *Pazuzzu* cough), is hard as hell, and not worth the effort when it's easy as hell to just hack a few websites and insert a trojan here, and a sql injection thinger there, and seventeen other things that I don't fully understand that mine data.

My computer doesn't have the kind of defenses a game server has. Neither does your average website. It just defies logic that they'd put the extra effort into doing it the hard way when they could just do it a much easier way. I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next girl, and I am also scared as hell that I might be next- but I really truly don't think someone hacked the Frog. Because it just doesn't make sense for them to even bother. Why try and break into a bank when you can have an army of pickpockets (worms and malware) datamine people's computers so much more easily?

now TheGrimm on Reni got hacked and gold spamming in world. So please mnkmurphy88 keep your head in the sand and keep on thinking everything is ok. When we had the tournament for the anniversary Dionaea was level 75 and the 2 others level 80, so you might want to check your fact before. They have no clue of what is happening, but hey they are looking into it. They start hacking accounts when the GM don't work, mmh they know when they are not on, mmh makes you wonder. Ex-employe that got fired and now this is payback, makes you wonder.

Stop thinking this is an isoleted incident, it is on all servers in the US. But maybe if they start working this morning they might look into it. Just sad Frogster that you don't care about paying customers that actually pay your salaries.

Really hope my account don't get hacked for your sakes.

This has happened to me many times and a few of my guildmates. Its a glitch in the game which the old FA staff knew about. Since i reported it back in the day.

It mostly happened during bad cases of lag and i would turn into a bean, or a mob that i was close to, with its skills.. I am unable to sue the skills or move, my character took on the programmed path of that mob.

I am starting to preemptively spam the world chat with gold sellers website - maybe, whoever is that controls rom servers, will not waste time taking away my account if I am already using it as they would.

last night I left 5 guys running in hopes to see if the hack crap was over today I had to relog 4 of them and the error that I
had used wrong password message came up .hmmmmm

Ya funny i got 5 logged in also and 3 of them got logged off while i was on them, relogged right away but now i'm scared that something will happen. Ya they will close this thread as soon as they wake up. Because : no we are not getting hacked, there is a problem and we are trying to fix it response. loll. We are looking into it.

Also Roeksha for your response that you guys are not support service and all, then i think you should remove Quality insurance in your title not to confuse us. Because for me that means that you are on support for quality service, just saying. Because as of now i don't feel insured for anything and for quality now i'm not so sure.

Yes i'm scared of loosing my account and having to write 389 tickets to get all my stuff back on my toon, and i have the right to question your policies about how you are handling this.

Does your support service work on the week ends? I know that at my workplace i'm on 1 week per month on Emergency calls no matter what. And in that week i work between 50 to 80 hours. It's called being on calls, might want to work schedules so that you have people on when hackers know you are not. Might help to keep our accounts and not have to deal with sending in 389 tickets per toons.

P.S. You should reassure us about wth is happenning and not hide behind your pre-maid lawyered up answer and responses. We might feel the love here.

Just to note guys, while this person totally appeared to be a GM, its entirely possible he used some kind of memory edit to fool people. While I don't think its very plausible, its still possible and we shouldn't jump to the worst conclusion. Just remember to keep an open mind and not jump at conclusions, and certainly not threaten to lynch Frogster. I'm sure their support is doing the best they can.

I think it's important we keep flames and such to a minimum. Getting threads closed will cease the flow of information which will help nobody but the hacker. Rather than the Frogster staff have to take crap for possibly having to close the threads, I'll be watching and if I feel the need I'll request a Mentor/gm/cm to close this thread.

As one player to another, please respect these wishes. We all want the same thing here, lets work together and not against each other.

If Server hacking is going on, then i think the two most likely ways would be, either from left over data from old server farm( if possible) ; or from the private server folks who now have access to server program (possibly allowing them to find backdoors holes ect...)

Um my friend Ms. Murphy didn't say anything is ok. Don't know why you feel like attacking her for expressing her thoughts, other then you seem to be in rage mode atm. I understand why people are upset and I doubt Fan needs anyone to stand up for her, as I am sure she will have a nice story to tell you regarding your post, but she doesn't deserve your oh so kind words. Brogue, we will see if you get your account hacked if you will be happy. We had a player that was buying as much as 200.00 of real money on his toon minimum per month with Zeevex, he never bought or associated with gold spammers. He got hacked and now what, last night during siege 3 more toons on Reni got hacked. It has nothing to do with gold spammers, Frogster should wake up. It is either a disgruntled employee that got fired or a frustrated banned player that is getting back to them. Gold spammers are trying to make money and doing it this way will only get people away from them, that's for sure.

I'm just making my point here, do i want to send 389 screenshot of my stuff and gear one by one to them ?? Hell no.

Oh yeah and never say anything bad or else : you are stress out, take some time off, relax and then come back to the game and boom, account banned. That is what hapenned to our guildie. Hasn't been on for 2 months, for them to fix their crap and now account banned. Just keep on acting like nothing is wrong, it's all good.

I am going to have to agree with mnkmurphy88,

It is not that difficult to "spoof" a class/title/attribute in-game. Most of these values are fake and they might appear to be real but they are not.

I didn't get a chance to see the fake-GM on Artemis yesterday because I was sleeping but I did hear that nobody actually saw him in person and that nobody actually got banned by him.


It's fair to assume that it was just a script kiddie playing around with a memory editor.

As someone posted in the previous page a link to the EU forums someone does explain that there are people who have spoofed the two new classes on the EU-servers (which I am sure is a bannable offence).

And attacking other players on the forums does what for this situation? Who is acting like nothing it wrong? Pretty sure we are all in consensus that something is wrong, lol. Just because people disagree or have different idea's about how this is happening doesn't make one person more right or more wrong then the other. But please continue to rage.....I am sure it will in some magical way make all this stop.
