Mage discovering Rogues in Hide mode

I'm wondering if there may or may not be a skill that allows a mage / rogue to see rogues while they are in hide mode. I was sieging last night and an m/r repeatedly discovered me in hide whilst 150m away (before my shadow prison could reach her).
I doubt it's a hack and chances are it is a skill or an item that allows her to do that but I would just like to confirm.

Yes, that is one way. However, in my specific case, the mage spots me while I am on the benefit of a pot or not.
But Ravesden, you do bring up something interesting with the +0.
I use Yawaka's Set skill which restores energy and when I am full, I do believe that a +0 shows above my head.

Ya I walked past a rogue the other day he used a potion that gave a hot. That was a dumb move lol but he still killed me -.-

What skill did they hit you with? Typically, when I play M/r, I'll do thunderstorms non stop if I know a Rogue is in the area. Sometimes I'll see a Rogue in the distance before they pop hide, and start thunder storming where I think they will pop out at; this has worked pretty good for me so far. If the M/r is hitting you with an instant (CF, FB, etc.) then that is a little bit more sketchy.

yep, Yawaka's blessing is definitely a dead give away. Thanks for bringing that up. Now not only are rogues not allowed to use pets, we're not allowed to use buffs either. With the eyes of true knowledge & the electric towers already knocking us outta stealth and stunning us... kinda starting to get the impression that RW doesn't want us in siege.

Yeah, some rogues are not careful when in hide, like they will leave their pet out, have that +0 on their heads, or walk directly into a thunderstorm or something. However, it is possible for people to straight up target a rogue in hide by using a popular rom hack. So if u can tell that he is targeting you in hide (as if he clicked on your character), then he may very well be using a hack. You can AoE a rogue in hide but u cant hit him with a fireball or anything like that

Edit: I forgot to mention that if your level is lower than his, your hide radius is much smaller. For example, a lv70 can spot and target a lv50 rogue in hide from a mile away (your sig indicated lv70 so it probably isnt that for you, but I just wanted others to realize that happens as well)

just pointing out that we have to go through it with diminished stats due to not having pets, location giveaways like these regen ticks that stop our primary class essential abilities, the existing sprint non-stacking flaw due to FoT that was never fixed, and all the towers designed specifically to be anti-stealth. Basically, we do what you do, but have to work 4x as hard to do it because the game has never fixed flaws it should have...

Yes, I definitely do avoid having my pets out and such. The Yawaka's Blessing issue was not brought to my attention earlier but I appreciate Raves for bringing this up. It was stupid of me to use it in PvP but I've actually not had this problem until yesterday night.

@ Gr4f - I was not hit with an AoE. She had me targeted prior to casting her fireball / lightning.

Its kinda funny to read this, while everyone else is complaining that Rogues are too OP in PvP lol.

There are definately handicaps for rogues. But there are also handicaps for other classes a well, to balance it out.

The Mage/Scout combo has a skill that allows them to detect rogues at further ranges than normal. I ahve that combo and do detect rogues at a bit further than others.

And what elite might that be? I just searched the elite skills for m/s and it doesn't show any skills related to detection.

I was watching a mage lock on to me from a range which was about as far as its possible to see a player. I was directed to this thread but this thread hasn't explained it. I do know however that a certain hack has an option to see people despite being in stealth. I'm positive this person was using this hack. Thankfully this wasn't in siege and I spoke to someone in their guild. In short, If someone see's you from an absurd distance, and then locks on to you and they're not a scout. Its most likely they're cheating.

How far away were you when you went into hide? There's an interesting glitch that if you have someone targeted before they go into hide and if you use an instant (confirmed with ice blade, haven't tested other instants but I assume it's the instant part that makes it work) it will hit them and pull them out of hide even though the attacking player doesn't have them targeted technically.

In my case, I was too far to even cast shot or vampire arrows. The mage spotted me in that distance. However, it is possible that she saw the +0s going over my head from far away.

Sunday, April 1st 2012, 6:55am

Well, even then the +0s don't let you be targeted while in hide, they just let someone know to AoE on the spot. It seems the only options are either A) you got targeted before you popped into hide, or B) the mage was hacking, unless there's some new anti hide targeted spell I don't know about :P

Well the +0s help a mage decide where to aoe, but it doesnt allow them to target a player for single target casts like fireball

This is 100% false.

So, you were invis and a mage targeted you? I can't think of anything logical except maybe a bug exploit or hack. Even if another rogue or scout using detect was close by and spotted you, the mage wouldn't be able to see you unless they targeted through the player that spots you.

Here you go. It is called detection and it is not an elite. http://www.theromwiki.com/Scout_Skills The wiki says that it is scout specific but I use it when my main is mage. Not sure if it is supposed to do that or if using it is a glitch. I have never asked about it.
