What the QQ'ers need to realize is that while it may indeed seem to them that I can spam IB with no CD, cause they get hit with two or three at the same time, I'm getting hit by their skills the exact same way.

Except that there are no travel time to your skills so you don't get hit unless you're really close to them, if you can 2-shot someone and your projectile hits instantly and it takes 1 second to throw out 2 iceblades while the other character might be able to use something like cursed fangs or fireball during that time those skills will never hit because you killed them before they could reach you.

I'm fairly certain that very early in this thread when that was first mentioned someone posted a thread showing flame, fireball, shot and wind arrow all exhibiting the same no-travel time effect, with the mob dead long before the animation reaches them.
I have seen rising tide and many other attacks do the same thing, it's very funny (and upsetting)when you get knocked flat out in siege, then a couple seconds later a warrior or knight comes charging at you.
Quoted from "Kefkai;545235"
It was early in this topic, it has nothing to do with that either, travel time doesn't really matter with mobs the server recieves the data when the server recieves the data, however in terms of how siege works the client needs to recognize the damage.
So yes, travel time does matter and in terms of how the skill you're talking about works from what I've seen the knockout happens immediately but the damage doesn't.
Actually, I think we have proven early in this topic that it did anyways, you can outrun slow projectiles like Mage's Tricks or even Fireball if you wanted to and were on a mount, the projectile will just follow you forever.
So point dismissed.

How you are supposed to outrun a projectile? You may be ahead of it initially but the siege war arena is only so large. It will eventually catch up to you. It's like a rocket target-locked onto your aircraft except it will only hit you and not collide with anything else.
I've tried doing mad rush + spell weaver to outrun arrows shot at me, and they always get to me after my buffs run out.

I still fail to see anything added since this thread resurfaced that hasn't already been discussed in the 600+ previous posts. We're now just saying "hey remember that thing we talked about on page 30? Yeah that exists right"
Pointless thread revival is pointless

You don't want it to end up getting nerfed so you would say that, but the reason I quit this topic in the first place is because no one is ever going to come an agreement, I don't think anyone ever reached one in a first place and that's sort of what this topic actually needs.

So the problems with iceblade are: damage dealt, range, spammability (Due to cool down, and the fact that mana never runs out)
possible solutions, from worst to meh:
-1% mana cost on it, so it can only be spammed a certain number of times (100 before you have to regen mana, or take a pot...cus everyone LOVES % mana costs)
-shorten the range (to 100-150)
-lessen the damage done by the skill
-make it focus based
-change how the pvp system works all together.

I think it's silly people say just stack more Mdef. If I as a fairly well geared P/K struggle against most P/S I can only wonder how any other class will fare. Probably not very well. There's way too much evidence to justify all the defending of this class that is happening, which to my eyes looks like is 99% coming from people who play P/S. Why are you all so content with your easy mode PVP? Every time I see a P/S 1-man army dominating siege all I can think is how little I respect that person for picking the path of least resistance.

pop all your speed pots, out run the projectile to the person who launched it, kill them. you live.
edit: as far as iceblade goes, its like any other skill or class in pvp. its something you can learn to deal with, given the fact that the pvp system is broken as a whole. the most annoying thing about ice blade is that it two shots players at 200 range with no cool down. if any of that changed, people would be less annoyed. But its still a single target skill, rogues will kill p/s's fairly easily. A mage geared p/s will get one shot, a priest geared p/s wont deal heavy damage. given what the skill is, its fair. Annoying, sure, but workable.
Quoted from "effervescent;545264"
Range nerf and pvp rework are the only options that wouldn't break this skill. Keep in mind that, while you don't have to use a crapload of Ice Blades to kill people in PvP...you do in PvE, at least for those that don't stat like mages. For heal-statted priests, it takes more than a few Ice Blades to bring a single mob down. Add a % cost to that or change it to use focus, and you've broken the only decent damage skill for the priest class.
But this has all been mentioned over and over in this thread, and no matter how many times anyone says it, people will still call for a class-breaking nerf over a reasonable one.

sooooooo only classes that hit hard give u problems..... STOP QQ'ing about it

i forgot that focus takes forever to regen. i havent played a scout in a few years now >.<; probably not a good idea.
even in p/k gear most p/s can kill any quest mob. and tbh they shouldent except to kill instance mobs. not solo, without full gear and maybe some buffs anways. the damage it does is generally reasonable, its more the spam/range aspect, the same way people hated getting shot spammed.
as far as decent non class breaking solutions go, the focus/%mana ones wouldn't BREAK the skill, it would just be more difficult to use than necessary. it would still work fine in pve, and make it more balance in pvp, but its not the optimal solution.
a range cut of 1/4 to 1/2 would, as you said, be a better solution but still not the best.
the only solution that everyone here will ever agree upon is a rework of the pvp system. A heavily needed rework.
