How long until the NERF bat hits the Dwarves?

Just watched the podcast (5). One class has an attack with no global cooldown. One class rez's in combat. How long until these abilities disappear? (I'd say "bets" but that is probably against TOS)

So instead I just ask: How long do you think it will take before they figure out these two abilities are VERY BAD for the gameplay (I can see a bunch of each class being used to basically "pheonix" and "3.0 scout spam" through any instances). Just sayin'.

It was a bit stupid of Runewaker to implement a class that could rez people in combat, essentially nullifying the reason to buy phoenix potions. But that's if they actually can rez in combat.

As for the attack without a global cooldown, it depends on how powerful the attack actually is. If it doesn't do squat against bosses, nobody's going to bother with it.
In a world of black, white, and grey... I'd be bright friggin' purple. M/P on Reni.

Uhhh if rez'ing someone was an instant cast, then I could see the problem. So your healer actually has to stop healing errbody else to rez someone? Yeah, lmk how that goes when running an instance you dont outgear. So, unless you have a 2nd healer in the group, this skill is like a McDonalds tv ad, it looks good, but it really isn't....

Heavy Bash (as said in the video; Heavy Strike apparently is real name or what have you) requires 20 rage, so it has no cool down, but is no means spamable every second.

Rez during battle has a 5 minute cooldown and can only be used during the one 18 second buff.

No nerf is needed.

Wow another forum thread overreacting to new information. Why am I not surprised?

Before you start screaming "omfg! these classes are better than mine!!! NERF!!!!" why don't you see how they actually do? If they are a little better than other classes, so what? It gives you more incentive to try out the dwarves. Classes will never be perfectly balanced and there will be times when certain classes are over-powered and certain times when those same classes are under-powered. Everything is cyclical in terms of which classes are OP.

You cant make people be happy, and some never will. R/S is OP P/S is OP Chapter 3 S/X is OP. Anyone see a pattern here. Just remove Scout from the game.

When RoM makes enough money, maybe they'll lower the 5,160 damage Warlock/Rogue elite a bit and the 80% str to stamina for champions and the warlock rez ability while IN combat and the champion 75% weapon damage....

I mean I'd totally reroll and spend $500 regearing but I know a class can only "be good" for 1 chapter til it gets nerfed. I guess yea... ch3 scout = ch5 champs/warlocks.... we'll see.

More incentive to try them out.
Which means people will be only playing them during pvp, the people who didn't want to spend another $10,000 will be stuck trying to kill those "OP" dwarves.
I say, if you don't want to spend more money than necessary stick to your class.
Dwarves are going to be boring anyways. If everyone moves to dwarves no one will be able to run the end game instance till all the dwarves are lvled and geared.

That's the point though once they get revenue back up, they're just going to nerf it, so why play it?

And why buy a new car, they are just going to make a better one next year? Its the journey. Along your line of thinking, why play the game, you just gonna die one day and it wont matter anyways :(

There is always something to QQ about. Let's pretend for a second that they had made both dwarf classes underpowered. Then there would be a thread titled something like "Dwarves are useless" and everyone would QQ in it about how if dwarves are pointless, there was no point to their introduction as a playable class if they are unusable, omfg FEU I'm quitting and taking my money to (insert other game here), blah blah blah.

I've stopped caring about all these pointless forum threads where people who didn't get their way complain all day. Many decisions made by FEU will be beneficial to some and not to others. In this case, the players who wanted to play as a dwarf are happy, and the players who didn't want to try the dwarf class are not. If you are in the latter group (like I am), get over it and stop QQing or go play another game and ruin their community instead.

I just really want them to fix what they already have instead of making new stuff.

I think they are fixing a lot of stuff with Chp. 5 release. People have been complaining about the CS prices, and they have lowered those dramatically (puri's now cost less than 40% of what they used to). People wanted a big diamond sale, and there was one just a few days ago. Obviously siege is still a problem, but who knows if they're ever going to fix that. There are just a ton of problems with siege that may never be fixed. But usually when a new chapter comes out is when a lot of fixes occur. Granted, there may be bugs at first, but that kind of thing happens all the time when new content is introduced.

Honestly though, they have to come out with new stuff. That's how they're going to get new players or old players who had quit to come back. That's what happened with Ch. 4. Another complaint recently has been that the player bases have been shrinking, especially on PVP servers. Hopefully Chp. 5's release will fix that.

IF the Dwarves are gonna be the best and most powerful, then i am done with the game. I will not play a stinking short hairy troll. I dont care how good the class is. I have enough characters/classes already, if i am gonna be making a new char itll be in another game.

Also spent way too much money on multiple characters to gear up if they now decide to make the new ones better and have people have to spend more money on it. I hope it works for them, but i dont think it will. RIP

LOL you think new players will start playing this game?? HAH if they do they wont be spending money on the game, not much at least if anything at all. Old players coming back? HAH most know the $$ treadmill the game always will be and stay away for good.

Weren't you once a new player and don't you now spend money on the game? A game can't survive if it is unable to bring in new players, and that's what chapter releases are about. Not every player today started in open beta. And didn't a lot of old players come back with Chapter 4 release? Doesn't it make sense to assume some will come back for Chapter 5 release as well? And btw, all games are money treadmills. Companies that make MMO's do not exist to cater to your every want and need, they exist to make profit. However, I, for one, am satisfied with the new CS prices.

20

Tuesday, June 12th 2012, 6:28am

cutting prices in half then almost never having double diamonds... 1/2 prices, 2x price on diamonds..... Hey doesnt that make it pretty much the same price? I am no math graduate.... wait i am.... yea it is. I am glad you are happy with a "i wave my hand over here, please dont look over there" fix. Also not a lot of people came back in chapter 4, not really all the many. Also not all that many players started playing and got to endgame and were spending money.

I can tell how you think which is: bring in new players... which is the way frogster thinks.
OTHER MMOs think: Keep your loyal players. Course that is really most successful businesses.

And not all games are money treadmills, i dont know of another game that every time they raise the level limit you have to spend money to replus, restat, redrill pieces of armor to stay on top. The fact you dont think that makes me wonder which instances you run. Unless you are just trying to be optimistic and then being happy fluffy is all good and fine...... if you are into that.

Ohh and i started in chap 1, so i have been around a while. I have seen how many new players stick around and pay money on the game. As the game gets older less players will think they should. Gamer mentality 101. "why should i spend lotsa money on a 3 year old game when i should be able to slingshot to the end?"
