ABL's make or break the in game economy.

FEU can you enlighten us on your reasoning in neglecting to make abls more readily available?

They want you to buy bank space to hold all that armor that you need the absent ABL for in order to sell it.
LOL really don't know but thats what it seems to me.

They have always been special items going on sale randomly. Most people will stock up on them when they are available. As far as them making or breaking the ingame economy, they are not the reason the ingame economy is fubard. The reason the ingame economy is fubard is the dirty little people who want as much gold as they can get their dirty little hands upon. Most players do not realize or even know that the max ammount of gold one character can have is 999,999,999 gold.

Again what are you smoking? They have been a regular CS item for over a year!

I disagree. The increase in gold sales is because there is an increase in gold demand, because abls are 4.50 each people have increased the cost of AH items. Abls have just gone up in price and the economy inflated along with it.

I don't think that holds water, especially with all the mass exodus. Servers like palenque have very few people able to make it through the tough instances. Which just adds even more value to gear plus the overhead from the high prices on abls

ABL's were rare when I first started and now FEU has made it that way again. The reliance upon them to sell gear has fubard the ingame economy big time. With them in the CS all the time it ahs made it so only a few players got to see the so called "Endgame" instances. With them gone from the CS I see a return of actual PUGs doing instances.

I'm sorry to continue to disagree. I've been here since 09 and gear for sale in ah has always been a Rom staple. The idea that we will just push everyone through instances defeats the incentive to trade wares. On another note, it is my belief that making gear a little easier to obtain will keep renew the drive in tiring players and create obtainable incentives for new ones.

ABLs were made readily avail, you used to be able to buy them all day every day for 99 diamonds..... is that no longer the case/

nah, the "select few" (those who can run the instances) will only gain a tighter grip on in game economy Pug groups are doomed to suffer at the GCH line there are like 3 guilds on Osha who can do tosh, GUILDS!!!! no way a pug group will ever get it down atleast not in this chapter. only thing that will happen is poeple are gonna continue to run with guildies and the less capable guilds will be at the mercy of the strong.

although pug groups could work if they change what boses drop what in the instance then they will gain more viability

So fewer ABLs twill mean slower gearin up o players. Now THAT twill hit Froggy in the pocket (less plussers an drillers sold), an me be sure they don't desire that. Unless they be tryin ter slow down the game fer us.....

Yes, I remember that & agree we will probably be seeing it again.

PuG's! They tend to be nothing short of very bad experiences for me...

SHIVERS about pug groups. Yeah i dont think this is a good move and i really dont think it is going to net them more money. Making gear harder to come by wont make people get lower gear to get statted just to run the higher stuff to get it themselves anymore. THey will just stop playing. I hope they arent hoping that ABLs removal will just cause people to gear up more in steps, instead of leap frog. Cause i dont think itll happen.

Nope, no pugs. It will just make gear harder to get for those not running end game and make f2p end gamer harder to sustain.

ABL's are a staple of our economy, no question. We needed cheaper and more available ABL's- not to see them disappear from the Item Shop. It seems like Frogster/Gameforge is shooting themselves in the foot with this one.

I don't understand this at all.

We trade gear for gold and diamonds, and then people spend their own dias upgrading the gear they get with that ABL.

Less available ABL's means less people spending dias modding it.

And @Lemonater- sure, maybe on Reni or Artemis you can world shout "blah blah for sale, whisp for inv" and then roll the gear- not in ToSH, where the bosses disappear if they aren't looted instantly (a) and (b) ummm... no one is awake on Palenque to buy gear when we run in the middle of the night. It usually takes us a few days to get in touch with a buyer for the gear we need to sell as it is.

This is a huge issue for low population servers, and why that hasn't occurred to Gameforge's marketing department, I don't know.

If I had to make an educated guess on what this will do the server economy- well, people will be upgrading a lot of shell and mem gear, since that doesn't need to ABL'd. People who do run the high end instances will end up with surplus gears they can't sell, and the economy will stagnate. They'll be unable to trade that gear for dias, so they'll quickly run out of gold for consumables, which will mean they'll be unable to run. Those people who currently run endgame will stop unless there is a massive and quick sale on ABL's... and then the trickle-down effects will start.

As soon as the endgamers stop running, the economy will hit a standstill. Midgeared people will be upgrading shell and mem gears until they realize that there's no point gearing to run instances except to gear themselves, since they won't be able to sell drops either. The stat market will inflate briefly as people start stoning gear- and then drop rapidly as the market floods. Gold will slowly inflate until ABL's DO go on sale, and then we'll have massive diamond inflation again as the endgamers who remain blow all their gold reserves on ABL's.

All this can do is bork our economies worse. Let me write this out so that perhaps the marketing people will see it and understand it:

The US market is based on servers with low population. Our economy, which has never been anywhere as stable as the Euro servers, is based on gear trading because we have had ABL's in our Item Shop (and frequent sales on them until recently). Because we don't have the economic stability of the Euro servers, due to our relatively much lower population, WE NEED ABL'S TO BE AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES. WE ARE NOT LIKE THE EURO SERVERS. THEY ARE THE BACKBONE OF OUR ECONOMY.

Even the Euro servers will see economy issues if ABL's are not offered frequently enough. It is in the best interest of Frogster to make them available all the time, and at lowish prices. We need these so that we have gear to mod, which is how they make money from us.

If they do not rectify this error SOON, we will lose population and we will see high diamond inflation again, just like we did when Chapter 4 came out.

BRING OUR ABL'S BACK NOW!

I will not be making a Dwarf. No way I will be starting on the CS gearing treadmill with a new race.

If Dwarves turn out to be as OP as I suspect they will be it will just push me away from the game.

With exta cost for mounts, rare ABL sales, its just not worth it for me

I am not saying I agree with this and I also have not made it to endgame at lvl 70. However did anyone think that maybe they took out ABL's for now so the new gear ( If any ) from the new instances wouldn't hit the AH right after the servers reopen. We all know in any MMO their are Guilds / Players that live for this.....Just a thought....
