Cool. I didn't know we went to 67 at the start of chapter 3.

And, yeah, I dont think there was any other time when two zones were released at once. Heck, they were not supposed to do it in Ch 4 - all the beta reports, all the previews were about LOM only.
Thanks for having my back :)

Anyway... back on topic. No numeric ratings but my list of likes and dislikes

Likes:

1) New zone reachable by those who completed quest, although, as usual, portal can get around that.
2) Power level of of Rorazan is not ratcheted up. Some of the less DPSey classes were having issues in TB already, so another increase would be bad.
3) Dailies over the flies/dogmeat. Still have not found a great daily, but there are plenty to choose from
4) Dwarves seem pretty interesting from what little I played of them, and potentially going to be very much worth playing when leveled and geared
5) Some welcome changes to SW. Well, not by me personally (I liked breaking gate before anyone noticed), but good overall.

Dislikes

1) Too many of the quests in Rorazan standalone. I like chain quests more. What chain quests are there were pretty meh, although the bugged quest might have interrupted things before they got more involved.
2) The quests are not well designed. Too many are very confusing as to what they are asking you to do. Others are clear, but the mechanics of them are difficult for some classes.
3) Item shop reorg gave one good thing (cheap puries), but lack of ABLs is going to hurt ROM bad and disappearance of some other items is not going to help either
4) New gear is meh, both shell and instance, and together with lack of ABLs, I dont expect flurry of people regearing.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

What they need to do is bring back the stats that are guaranteed, and make more than weekly updates, fix stuff right when it happens.

Look of the new zone: 5/5 (fire is pretty)
Even more breakable chain quests that (unsuprisingly) broke: 0/5
New Instance: too early to tell, but it looks pretty 5/5 for graphics
New Gear: 0/5 useless to me without ABL's, the bosses may as well drop stones and save me a puri

New Cash Shop: 1.5/5 I like cheap puris and charges as much as the next gal, but come on people- you couldn't have just introduced ABL's and +12 gems to the Euro people instead of sucker punching us? Why must we always be the redheaded stepchild? And where are the level 71 +12 gems at huh? Some of the non-mages got some gears they'd like to actually use.

New Level Cap: 5/5 I like the baby steps. It made grinding my mage to 72 on ToSH bugs alone fairly painless, and let me get my priest done the same day using a reasonable amount of tickets. I'll quest as soon as they unbug the zone. 2,3,2 is a lot less painful than 5,2.

New Races: 2/5 They are fugly and possibly OP. I don't want to roll a male dwarf, but I spose I will. Ugh.

Siege: 5/5 It's works. Sort of. The gates thing is great and they didn't break anything like I expected them to. I'd like to see the damage modifier implemented, but 90% sounds scary without a massive decrease in healing to match. I really do not want to have to try and kill any of PPK's 300k healers with plinky 15k Ice Blades while they giggle and urgent themselves for 50k o.O

Overall Impression: It's not that bad. It didn't make me want to retire. I feel almost energized by the new instance, even if it is a stat farm. It's something new to do, and it looks like it'll be a simple fast farm as soon as we get the strats down. After the hell that was and is ToSH, dying in the new instance seemed like a refreshing change. Not having any appealing gear on offer means I can just stat Jenny's as soon as I farm it, and I won't have to replace my Raksha or weapon. Win-win.

It's appealing without being too much all at once.

The cash shop is my number one beef- and unless they do something about ABL's soon, I expect to see a QQ explosion of epic proportions as soon as everyone runs out, followed by the inevitable ragequitting, gnashing of teeth, crashed economy, and a slow response by Frogster ("why didn't you all tell us this was such a big deal, we had no idea!" alal GCD *sighs*). Well, I'm Cassandra yelling that this horse has QQ inside it- listen now! Don't wait a month and watch the playerbase take another nosedive. Save yourself a heaping helping of pain, and just BRING BACK ABL'S NOW!

Likes:

Next step shell stats/gear.
Next step mem stats.
Next step justice gear.
Dwarves & new classes.
A little attention was paid to siege (better than none.)
Dailies worth a good level appropriate amount in new high level zone.

Dislikes:

New mem gear is useless.
ABL's gone byebye / Item shop stinks for the most part now.
No mem weapons vendor (this one is just a personal aww.)
Broken quests (inevitable.)
Quests in new high level zone are lame on an EPIC scale with poor dynamics & interaction.
Shield form state is missing backwards movement & mounted animations.
Psy build up pointless in PVP.
Siege is still a 1-shot affair.
Not ENOUGH attention paid to fixing siege problems.
The non-stop warning about the memory leaks in ROM on top of my 30 crashes a day.

Willing to give Froggy/Runey a pass on the broken quests & the concept of no female dwarves as I understand those come with a lot of complexities.

So taking into mind the above & the almost non-existent buzz/seldom release of actual info about the chapter prior to it's release...

Id give this one a 6/10.
If I were to use 1 word to describe the release of chapter 5, id use "Forgettable"

Lets hope the rest of Chapter 5 is not so much a giant ball of "Meh"

Overall I'm about 1/2 satisfied giving a 5/10 rating with this new content. I haven't tried a dwarf class yet but from all the headaches I've been hearing with it to date I think I'll wait til some of the bugs are worked out.

Item shop - Other than the Charges, Puris new prices it's a big let down. Especially in the ABL's, Advanced jewels (+7-12), and 30-day perfume areas. I do like the package deals and maybe just maybe they can incorporate the fore-mentioned items into one of those or create a completely new one - Another item that is rarely seen is the Grand Golden repair hammer, would like to see that implemented a little more often please.

My major concern is the testing being done. With all the mistakes of sys_op name, missing transport locations, missing class selections from the dialog in dwarves classes (something I heard but have not experienced), Broken quests I'm wondering how these "test servers" are being set up.
I can't see all servers reacting the same and having the exact same set-up even though in a perfect world they should be. Each servers content should be copied over to the "test servers" and then patch from there to see if things are working correctly. Just setting up a test server and popping in the patch is not going to work (at least this is the indication I'm getting on how they "test" the new content. Is this a lot of work...absolutely, but you're going to get better results and see what each server is going to see.

CS item shop update: 5/5 (puris dropped from 50 to 19, ABLs removed, perm mount price increased)

New race / class: 2/5 (new classes are far too OPed and I'm not even going to bother rolling them because they will obviously be nerfed in time; also no female dwarves is kind of lame)

Quests: 1/5 (only reason it got a 1 is because I got to 71 so I'm happy otherwise it'd get a 0. Main quest line bugged... quest XP very cheap, takes 70+ level 70 quests to go from level 70 to 71)

DoT on gates: 0/5 (Significantly weakened the rogue class which relies on bleeds while other already OPed classes like p/s still get to spam ice blades on gates; what are rogues supposed to do? spam low blows as if they were ice blades?)

90% dmg debuff: 1/5 (it's not implemented yet but assuming it does... every class will end up being a tank even my pathetic 40k pdef is going to end up tanking 10 low blows instead of 2... and now noob priest/knights are going to be able to heal tank [assuming they don't get a healing debuff as well] oh and flame will still be OPed, 400k reduced to 100k hits; whoopee dooo, that will still shot most in sw)

I doubt the tanking part. I feel like i'll take a rotation b4 i die. A flame may hit me for 100k, but its a 3 second class unbuffed, so make it = 3 low blows, and i bet the low blows still do more damage. I dont mind.

My impressions of the new content.

Dwarves - 8/10 (no female playable)
New classes - 9/10 (Warlock is great, haven't tried champion)
New 72 zone - 6/10 (bit laggy for me, held off on doing most of it for now)
New CS - 7/10 (easier to stat up due to cheaper puris)
No ABL's - 10/10 (I'm so happy these are gone)
Siege - 8/10 (wish they had the dmg reduction)

Overall I'm fairly happy with the new content.

2/10. I was expecting A LOT more.

Agree with this. It feels like all they really released for people who run higher content is a) New stats and b) a ridiculously easy instance.

I agree with this enormously.

Some of our players won't come back to play because there is no reason to. It's just as boring as before.

They didn't release a new chapter focused on the new race dwarves and new classes warlock and champion in order to give end-gamers something to do. They were adding it for a new experience in the game with new playstyles and they were designed very well. The new classes are extremely fun to play and take a bit of skill to get working correctly; they aren't spam-fests like the most popular end-game classes right now are.

Yes this means making an entirely new character that will cost more money; thanks to reduced item shop prices, this is however made easier. Yes, you can no longer unbind gear dropped in instances to send over to your new character...which means you actually have to TRY on this one, which I think is a concept that has long since been lost (at least, since the start of chapter 4, which I'm sure can be agreed on as the worst chapter to date: almost everyone left).

Stats can be gotten way easier now, on the character you already have buffed out, and for a lot cheaper. Those can be sent over to make some good gear to get your new dwarf going. ;) Try out the new classes, because they are very interesting and fun to play with and have a lot of potential. The main complaint I have seen with them so far is that people playing Champions do not know how to hold aggro with a rage system (for myself however this is fine. I have played every tanking combination in the game up til now, including warrior/knight which ran on a rage system, so I'm good with this), and people playing Warlocks are used to spamming skills as a rogue and/or scout and run out of focus in a couple attacks.

These classes take some skill and some learning, they can't be approached as if they are a rogue or a mage.

That being said, maybe some patience can be had by the end-gamers, because it's foolish to think they won't be adding more content for you to do in the future patches of this chapter. This is exactly how chapter 3 went (RoM's most successful chapter), so calm the eff down.

Of course the game gets boring when you have your main and 26 alts fully geared.

Which is now fixed due to you being unable to send end-game gear to alts. Yay no ABL's!

Likes: puries are cheaper

Dislikes: Basically this whole game, been around 3 years just hoping someone would get there crap together. I used to use a crap laptop, now upgraded to a beast gaming PC cost me quite a few thousands, and guess what...I crash like 50-60 times a day now O.O....and my laptop hardly ever (too bad the graphics suck) I don't know why this game has such bad coding. A buddy of mine is going to school to train to be a gaming programmer in Alberta and was given a list of the top 10 games on "how not to code" these games are used for people to figure out how to correct it and an example of extremely bad coding and guess who was at the very top of the list ROM! I could believe it! but anyways this game just when you think things might get better they screw up always, now with the AUB, and well the stability is worse then ever, I don't understand with all the money they make why cant they hire "good" programmers? ......as for the new chap, yay another zone that is so easy to reach lvl cap this time in half a day rather then a full day, and I too left to be bored.....aint bothered checking new instance cause I can only guess you need to spend alot of hours and coin to even survive a mob let alone a boss, I think I will give this game till end of Aug and if nothing is corrected or stabilized, I will swallow the fact I wasted 10 years worth of vacations to play this game (to achieve anything) and move on to a happy place:) over all new chap 1/5 entire game 2/10

With the inability to get back to the new zone, the constant crashing, and the removal of jewels in the item shop I find myself playing about a hour a day now. Soon I will start looking for a new game. I give this expansion a 0.
