Can we get a better pet solution.

So my Wl/r is coming along just fine, except for one thing, my pet. Why bother with pets anymore without the ability to level them. Yes I know millers cake, 2.2 BILLION gold to get to 50, sure I'll get right on that...

The CS pots give 1k exp, wow! Considering the amount of experience needed that is financially ridiculous. The best option was always golden eggs, Runewaker set up a great system but it did attract botters, I get that. But Frogster took Runewakers idea and decimated it.

The most brilliant thing ever was Owenstien selling eggs, they were available to all, it nullified bots, and it was the best gold sink ever.

So many positives for frogster and its players. But here I am one of the few willing to enjoy a dwarf knowing this is going to cost me, but as a dwarf I can't get the same benefit others enjoyed in chapters 3-4. Please frogster take a look at this, heck test it yourself, start a new character and try to build a pet, let me know how it goes for you.

I think this is where the disconnect is, frogster employees have no clue what we normal players have to contend with. You continue to put limitations and restrictions on us, and simply say "Just deal with it"

I think 2.2 billion is a bit of an exaggeration ;). If you can't afford lvl 50 I'd start with 100 aptitude and lvl 30. It's really not that much to get it to level 30, and you still get a fairly significant stat boost.

Sure pets are expensive, but they are also worth it. I gain a loooot from my pet, if anything my issue is that they die so quick in boss fights. In pvp most people use the pet for tab target confusion, not for stats - you don't really neeeeed them on mob pulls unless you are really short on hp. Yet they die so easily to boss AoEs and ticks. What is the point of paying ALL THAT, when they get "put down" almost every boss you would actually need them in.

Pets are worth it which is why I would like to see 99 Golden eggs sold for 100 diamonds in the CS.

I want golden eggs back too. It's a pain to have to remember to pick up enough pet food to carry the pet through an instance as it is.

However, I think they should be getting at least 4 diamonds an egg when not on sale. If they are on special, 99 for 150-200 diamonds would be a good deal.
In a world of black, white, and grey... I'd be bright friggin' purple. M/P on Reni.

I don't think it is an exaggeration. it costs what? 3k per cake, and each one only gives 10 exp... think about it. from lvl 1-50 it will take a bunch of cake, and they're sooo expensive.

I levelled my pet 1-50 on justmillers cake.. it only took 1-200 hundred mil max. So yes it is an exaggeration.

um millers cakes are equivalent to when golden eggs sold for 3.5 mil a stack, which was for a very long time before they got nerfed. hasnt been since chapter 3 that I saw sub 1 mil stacks. but its SO much easier to get gold now then it was back then, so really things even out.

the only really expensive part now is turning the TP into skill TP. Only way to do that now is with diamonds or VERY slowly get golden eggs (whats it 1 a day?) in pet farm.

on a side note though i would be very interested in seeing how much pet XP you actually need to hit lvl 50. anyone have solid numbers?

EDIT: never mind answered my own question lol

Well, there's a chart for the Xp needed per level, but you'd have to add them yourself for total XP lol.

As ruisen posted the number, let me add the summary. If you were to level just with cakes it would take 216.5 mil to get to 50. Of course, doing 1-50 with cakes alone is particularly suboptimal way.

And since a pet is sooo worth 200M, it's really not that bad. Certainly alot better than 2B.

what would you say is more optimal then miller cakes? assuming you are starting with a lvl 1 pet that has max aptitude how would you go about leveling it up (besides your 3 merges a day)? I am about to level up a pet for my warden so i am a little curious =p

I think of pets as another piece of gear, and it is the only piece of gear that you can work on a little bit at a time. I usually work on my pet when I die ;)

Yeah, your 3 merges a day, and you should be stockpiling cheap eggs of your element off AH while you are raising aptitude. And, hunting eggs in AV too. You would still need about 150mil to get to 50, realistically speaking. However, when you look at the cost of gear in AH, that 150 mil is a good value. My L47 pet gives me over 10k HP and 5.5k patt as well as pdef, speed increase, etc. I would need to spend well over 150mil to get that elsewhere.

my warlock/mage's pet is level 54(100apt), it cost me 260mil + 3.5k diamonds; I chain-fed using rune pet eggs for the first 10k training point, ending with a lvl.5 Fire pet and 78 APT. I than merged the 'lvl.5 fire pet' to a Amazing pet egg(fire) with 97APT for a big boost in APT; Miller'ed the rest of the way.

Gold is for millers, Diamonds are for the enchancement/awakening pots.

OH yea, it took me about 3-4 hours to get from lv/2 to lvl 54, thanks to my guildie, Elvie <3 she gave me 200mil ;)

I already spam-leveled my most recent pet to 50 with cakes.
It's actually quite affordable and most of all I can't see end game players complaining about it at all. A few ToSH runs and hope that people buy your UD gear and there you have all the gold you need to take a pet to level 50.

Yeah sure, I can do that, but how about you pro's think about new players. This is the biggest problem on the forums, the OPs forget we all started with nothing. Especially not 200 mil gold, or the ability to run Tosh.

The ability to get your pet to lvl 50 is end-game entry level.
A normal player can make due with level 35-40 pet, that cost about 50-70mil.

Yea, I can't run ToSH - not geared well enough nor can I find a group. I guess that's why in order to get the 200mil gold needed for a level 50 pet, I am forced to farm DoD 24/7 and hope to pull a stam/patt eternity.

A level 50 pet is tedious and does require a lot of work - I agree with that. But I don't think it's fair for people who already have one or several level 50 pets to make it easier on new people to raise a level 50 pet like nothing.

And I agree which is why I would like to see eggs in the Item shop, you want fast easy leveling you pay.
