M/P switch to P/S for siege, you wonder why the heck an OP mage would do that? Well cause mage doesn't have a skill like IB, even Magma blade has a CD. So a nerf would ruin a class they don't actually play in PvE. That's the hypocrisy of the whole argument, they are not real p/s at all, but it's so OP they don't bother going as their own class. Funny enough in PvE being a mage stated p/s would get you no where fast.
So let them spew all this "ruin a class" nonsense out, they only play that class for siege, why because IB is more OP in PvP then anything their mages can do. So if IB ever gets a nerf, real p/s can go ahead and blame the M/P on this thread for literally exploiting their elite skill. Don't believe me look around your PvE server for a fully mage geared p/s, oh and don't do it right before siege.
A real P/s will gear for their play style, if they want to be heals, they'll gear as a healer, if they want to DPS they'll gear for DPS. I'm a fully mage statted P/s most of the time because I seldom party up, preferring to solo most of the time. I only switch to M/p or S/x for dailies to level those classes up.
If I'm out questing or farming EOJs, I will be P/s or P/m because they are both classes very well suited to solo priests and do similar DPS, just about everything I can do as P/s I can do as P/m, so if a M/s/p is going to switch for siege, either class is just as viable.
You would be surprised at how many people actually do play P/s as their primary class, many of them do stat as mages. Out of the 7 I know, 2 gear more as healers with mage stats thrown in, 2 as an even mix mage/healer, and 3 as mages, counting myself that make 4 that gear as mage and none that gear straight healer.
A cast time or a longer cool down would reduce the viability of the class, P/s has no other usable instant skills to fall back on The ones we do have are downright laughable.
