Wardens Stand up and be counted!!

Calling all WARDENS!! Lets make these devs/whoever know that what they have done is WRONG!!

I want my SKILLS back. There was no need or reason for these changes, if any1 has a legit reason to nerf us back to the days of chapter 3 then please let me know. Only one change that was needed was to Charged Chop it need to be fixed a long time ago.

You took away one of our most useful AoE's. 12 sec cool down on Frantic Briar... might as well add that cooldown to Purg or any other spamable aoe by any other class. Frantic Briar for me as a wrd/m tank was the best way to crowd control. Sure its now instant but a 12 sec cool down REALLY?

I'm almost done with this game, makes me sad to spend all this time and money on a game and i have pride in my character. I played a warden from chapter 2 so I've been thru a lot of crap and in chapter 4 we finally got some respect now we are going back to corner where all the bad step children are sent.

I welcome all input but until you walk thru 3 chapters as a Warden then don't flame.

I hope all Wardens were calling for a nerf of Iceblade lol. You may know how it is to not be on the most OP toon as Wardens, but you have now felt what the nerfbat feels like.

Granted, my Wd/S is an alt, so she does not run instances and I am sure not properly allocated her TP and doesn't know finer points of all skills. But she likes the new changes. Frantic briar on long CD? Less useful. Potws is AOE? Lots more useful, as is Charged Chop now.

So, I am going to stand up and like it. She is geared in all quest gear, except weapon and necklace, yet she runs COT almost as fast as my main now.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Funny this patch happened when it did. I just switched from R/S toon (great dps yes but so boring and straightforward) to my Wd/S toon. I gave all my R/S gear to my guild leader to help the guild (GP love <3), and ToSHh geared the Wd/S. I was *almost* done gearing, but knowing I needed a slight push I put away money for the next great diamond sale. Then the patch happened. I don't feel like logging on anymore....minis and dailies really got on my nerves last night....and then I realized after the almost 2 years I've been playing.....maybe its time to quit. Good job, Gameforge. You saved me money! Meh it is what it is and I can roll with the punches, but still in the end the timing was horrid. ::le sigh::

Well, they added AoE capabilities to POTWS, and is spammable, so its not exactly that you have no aoe's left. And charged Chop is crazy powerful lol. Not a nice patch for a Warden tank, but seems to give Warden DPS some nice things.

I'll go against the grain here and say thank you froggy my warden is EPIC!

For the Wd/w i really hope they fix it and i understand completely but why not wait to see what the fix is before complaining they know its broken we know is broken let them at least apply the fix b4 crying that the sky is falling.

The DPS boost isn't worth what we lost. My thing is why was there even a nerf put on to us to begin with? I mean when was the last time any1 seen a thread about how OP we wardens are? I've also never cried for any IB nerfs or anything else. POTWS hits up to 3 targets where as Frantic briar did a full aoe, i use Cross Chop to pull multiple mobs at once from a distance and by the time they reach me or the group i have Frantic Briar Casting which had a 3 sec cast time, that then gave me all the agro for the full set of mobs. As for crying the sky is falling, do i need to remind everyone of their ability to fix anything in a timely manner?

Also i still would like to see any real Reason for these "great changes"... I personally have never asked for any of them and i have only seen a few complaints about current skills that needed to be fixed or improved ie Chopped Charge. Anyways lets keep this going i do like to see what ppl think. :)

Folks, please remember - these skill changes are unfinished.

If you're upset about not being able to tank (as Warden/Warrior especially), Runewaker's already stated that they know that the recent changes destroyed your ability to tank, and that they plan to correct it next Tuesday.

While I understand it can be quite frustrating to not be able to fulfill your chosen "primary role" for a week, it's not the end of the class combination or of the world. (As BentAxel stated).

Let's all see what the final changes are before breaking out the torches and pitchforks. :)

While true that the skill updates are not finished, this is equivalent to a doctor doing a hip replacement with k'nex only to replace it with a metal one in a week because the replacement didn't arrive on schedule. Such a thing shouldn't have been done in the first place.

"Recovery" is extended by a week.
Things only get more complicated and likely to fail on each attempt.
They knew ahead of time that it was going to not work for the class and only succeeded in convincing people to bring out their pitchforks and torches.

Some errors are acceptable, but not at this level of refinement. The majority of this game claims to not be in beta, but it is certainly treated as if it was.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Its a funny azz vid and very true... the problem is that wardens didnt need a nerf and we are far from OP. Before this patch we had the chance to play and be invited to stuff. So unless we spend at least 2 times the amount of time and money on diamonds cant even start to compare to most dps class's or tank class's. With the chp 4 buffs we had the chance to play on even playing field but now that's gone. Guess its time to throw away all our work and money and roll a champ :P

Yes my apology to all the wardens for posting that.

I agree with you entirely dave, wardens did not need a nerf. I was under the impression that they became a bit more lethal for dps output but lost the ability to tank end game instances.

It looks like Runwaker tried to make the Warden work like a Champion and utterly failed on the tank side. DPS side is even better now, but it really didn't need too much of a fix there.

I guess I should have figured something was up because the warden skills had all sorts of messed up descriptions patch before this last one.

I've adjusted play style a little, but, tanking will fail if wardens get most of pdef from Spirit of the Oak. Guess what, if that is the case, it spirit of the oak needs to work exactly like nature crystal. Immune to attacks, but can't attack itself, because when the oak dies, so will the warden tank.

But it doesn't really matter, because a champion or knight can get a d/wd to cast Enhanced Briar Shield on them and get some more pdef and the reflective dmg. Why even take a warden tank at that point?

Honestly they made charged chop a little OP anyways, I go on R/Wd which is now suddenly viable and can just spam charged chop to my heart's content (same with W/Wd) it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I seriously hope at this point they're thinking of putting a CD on charged chop or something because if they do fix Warden and give us defense back it's going to be incredibly OP having a spammable charged chop that I can run around with.

I think it's fair to give them a week to fix Wd/W.

That doesn't change the fact that the changes to W/Wd, R/Wd, and Wd/D were downright idiotic. And it doesn't change the fact that the "fixes" to stuff like D/S's 50 elite and R/D's Shadow Smash are a slap in the face if not a kick in the balls.

What did the shadow smash change actually do? I haven't played R/D in a long enough time I remember R/D sort of sucked but the one decent thing I could use in SW was that 1s cast time aoe.

I am afraid I am going to be breaking them out Nytefall. The response to issues by the devs has been lacking. It amazes me that a boss can get it's respawn adjusted two weeks after the update but the Myrmex Queen can not get her timer adjusted after two years. How about getting the transporter on the Varanas bridge fixed? That has been going on 3 weeks? How about getting the loading issue fixed? (For those of you who have not had the pleasure of porting into some place and falling to your death, you are lucky.) "Fixing" the warden nerf falls into the I'll believe it when I see it category based on past experience with the devs.

Shadow Smash was *supposed* to extend the duration and add Dark Element damage at the end of the poison AOE DOT that R/D gets. For as long as I've been testing it (sometime toward the end of chapter 3 was when I finished getting all of the R/D elites on that alt I think), Shadow Smash didn't do anything except extend the duration of the AOE DOT. There was no dark damage effect whatsoever.

Now there is dark damage. It is added at the beginning of the AOE instead of at the end. The slap in the face/kick in the balls part is that the damage it gives is *exactly* the tool tip damage. So if you level the skill up to 70, it will hit ONE time for exactly 680 damage regardless of your stats. I know the normal argument, everyone has useless elites, but R/D was waiting for well over a year to fix a skill that essentially didn't do anything, and this is the end result. IMO, they would have been better off not even touching the skill.

Same with D/S. Level 50 elite broke the class before. Now, it still completely breaks the class but for a completely different reason, lol.
