Ladym yeah ABLs easy to stock up on, but being able to +6 anything is impossible! I have a decent stated warlock running around with +4 gear. 200 diamonds to get to +6 is ridiculous and gameforge you need to look at this now. You are killing your new and exciting dwarf class. The whole point of initial chapter 5 was dwarves. Knock off the ruby gouge, charging more is not going to make people buy more diamonds, its just showing the paying players you do not respect them or their money one bit. Show a little more respect and appreciation for the people who support the game.

I agree, I would be okay with +16 being that hard, but not +6. That just doesn't make sense. At least make the success rate on +6 nonperfects higher.

Not sure, but they may have done that. Need some rich person to check it out. I will say that I used to take items to +4 with the CS jewels and +5/+6 with rubies. But now that rubies are so expensive I now take gear to +5 with the CS jewels and anecdotally it seems to be a higher success rate than before to +5. But then again, it could just be the power of positive thinking.

There is another thread were me and another forum poster tested it. It took me 42 regular +6 diamond shop jewels to get to +6 without a perfect. It took me 10 to go to +12. There is something wrong here. And I never use perfects for 12 and 16 so I can vouch that those do not vary much.

Guys, Frogs can't change success rate on jewels. Only RW can, and they are ... well, they are not going to do it. What Frogs can do is control item shop, and up to recently, they were a good buffer for making up for some of the decisions by RW. They would go "oooh, RW did that, players are gonna <bleep> and moan about that, let's put some items in item shop to relieve the whinefests". Now, they are not doing it anymore. Not quite sure what business model is there that says "hey, customers want that product, we can supply it, let's NOT put it on shelves", but hey. :)

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

They could at least lower the perfect +6 jewels to a very low price. That would make me happy. I don't care about perfect +12 and +16.

Are they actually letting us know about a diamond sale ahead of time? Unprecedented!

Totally agree, they are only limiting their timeframe to make money. What I find really funny is their month old plan to have leas diamond sales isn't going so well. I guess a few weeks of the players starving them was a wakeup call.

Do you have some inside connection that even knows this is the case? I wondr at how some of you come upon this information you seem to "know".

Regent actually owned stock in the company that produces this game, at least until they went private and got bought out.

As such, he knows a bit more about how the company works as a whole. Granted, his information is very outdated at this point, and may not at all reflect the current state of the company's finances. But he has a rough idea of how they were doing financially as recently as 2010. He also owns his own business, so knows a bit about good vs. bad business practices.

Now if only he'd quit shooting himself in the foot by trolling every time he posts. Still earns a giggle from me, though.

I troll so I don't have to be a grown up here. As for diamond speculation anyone's guess is as good as mine. They probably won't have one. Which is a huge mistake on their part. Hell its a mistake not making it 1k diamonds for $20, then seriously only have 7-9 sales oer year. Only way to reprogram and fix an old broken system is to meet the players halfway. And if a GM reads this I promise you would see a 23% increase in sales.

In this game, in order to do an instance, you really need the gear from the instance.

I wish one instance gave you the gear to prepare you for the next instance.

I can't progress because I can no longer afford the items from the ah so I can do the instance. :(

So yes please we need abl so I can drool over the gear I can't afford to get. I shall just keep saving gold.

At this rate, the prices of the gear will just go higher I am afraid :(

No offense, but EVERYONE who came before you did instances before they got the gear from them. EVERYONE. Suck it up and die a few times!

Technically true that someone had to do the instances before they had gear from that instance. But everyone, or as you said, "EVERYONE"? Nobody ever bought gear from instance that they have not run? You know you just need a single exception to disprove the EVERYONE claim, right?

Some people like pushing leading edge. In consumable thread I see claims like "I went through 2 stacks of hero pots on that run". God bless them, they like the challenge and don't mind several dozen deaths to explore the hard instances and push themselves to the limit. Not everyone is like that and finds that to be fun. Yes, wipes come with the territory and you can't avoid them completely. But for some people (I would say most of them), that number is limited.

EVERYONE - yes, that is as in "most everyone". The point is still valid; suck it up, you may die a few times before you get gear. That is why they made the Library and why vendors have the little hammers on their price list to repair all your gear.

I would say this: I never really stepped foot in HoS until I had HoDL gear because HoDL was easier to run than HoS "way back when." ATM the end game instances are relatively easy compard to these ones (gear challenge wise). And especially easy since you can do easy mode, use a 39 diamond cleaner and either get a stat or a decent piece of gear to stat. Much cheaper than using an 89 diamond (or more, back in the day) unbinder... just saying... HoDL gear was fine INTO SCH. So really, you only need to gear up once from 55-72. And that isn't bad compared to those of us who have geared and re-geared each chapter.

Okay but does RoM (I'm talking runewaker, not Frogster) lose players because they designed Hardmodes for a very small percentage of the population? Lets be real here when each server has only 3-4 guilds that can do a HM, that is a very small fraction of the population. They are creating instances for 5%, and throwing in an easy with dirty stats for everyone else.

I just think that many of the Super OPs who post here forget about those folks who are "Midgamers". There are far more mids, then Ends.

It think it's fine to keep HM how it is but they need to adjust those normal modes to cater to the mids, as it stands with new instances for many you mind as well call "Normal" "Less hardmode". You can't tell me people don't quit over this, heck some people are finally RT platinum ready. Last night we fought a palenque guild with alot of people, collectively they are KT ready, it was a bloodbath but they tried really hard and I thought it was awesome. But because the elite are not exposed to these kind of players it gets real easy to say "Just go wipe"

The difference is this, on AC first attempt, we got boss to 5% then wipe, second time we stayed away from tornados and killed him. For midgamers they get him to 85% then wipe. No matter how many times they try its just going to be a wipe. BUT those Mids are your diamond suppliers, they sell you those 3k diamonds just to get one peice of gear.

I have said this in many other posts, but everyone keeps saying this game is dying. But, all I see is a smaller endgame population. I see a huge amount of lvl 65-70 on Artemis.

Maybe, but back then there weren't really "midgame players". Why would end gamers want to run those instances with no incentive. You might have the occasional nice guy but that's the exception not the rule
