It does make things a bit harder. Yeah, thats the way chapter 2 and 3 were, i was there for that too. ABLs were on sale rarely, and all my gearing was done by running instances with my guild. But this isnt chapter 3. We dont get all of our stats from doing DoD, and we dont get our best gear out of DL. At the time we were level 60 and the best gear was in a level 65 instance. At lvl 72 our best gear is in level 70 and 72 instances. Its different. On reni, there is only one guild that can clear tosh, 2 guilds that can do annnelia, 2 that can do vn.....How did the rest of the server get their gear? From what we sold wih abls in the ah.
I think in many cases the term "can do" should be interpreted to mean "can farm" My guild -can- do high level instances, but we can't farm them.
ABLs make it possible to gear up well enough to farm an instance without ever having been inside it, not having the gear from that instance will not keep you from doing it. being a special sale item does make it a bit more difficult to gear up, because you can't just go farm dog meat then visit the AH for your next set of gear.
I don't feel that having the ABLs as occasional specials will kill the game or stop players from progressing.
Since mentos, shells and justice coins have been introduced there is really no reason to farm an instance for stats.
If there's an item on sale that I need, if I don't have diamonds, or can't find a buyer, it doesn't take long to run up and get a zeevex card, ultimate game card, or use my credit card to get them. If you refuse to buy diamonds with rl cash so you can progress, it's a personal choice and can't be blamed on anyone else.
