Add Difficulties to Minigames and Add New Ones.

Hello, it has been a while since I've played the minigames in RoM. I don't have an intense amount of gold and I could actually use the stats, but I can't get myself to do them. I simply don't do them because they are boring, repetitive, and not challenging. The last time I did minigames was 3 days before and after chapter 5 for gear. Before that, it was months, just for those reasons.

I suggest 2 changes/updates to bring back this once, fun and challenging part of the game:
- Add New Minigames
- Add Difficulties to Minigames

Difficulties:

I'll use charts to describe this part as examples, and I'd even be doing a lot of the brainstorming for Runewaker.
Note in the charts Easy difficulty will be what it is currently (with tweaks).

* Number of Rings : The rings/layers in the minigame. The picture below is of the current setup. You can see that there are 3 rings currently. You start in one ring. There are 2 Ele. Candlesticks in the second ring. There is another in the third ring, which surrounds the chest room (which I'm not counting as a ring).

New Minigames

I'd say after a certain point new minigames need to be made. Having the same ones for 20 levels is a bit much to take. I'm (currently) drawing a blank on specifics that I thought of before that would be fun. I'd suggest something to avoid damage or something. Whether that would be how long you can go before being tagged by an NPC (maybe make it a kid playing tag) or avoiding boulders falling on top of you for an amount of time. Maybe the opposite where you have to catch the kid or you get to throw boulders on top of someone as they avoid it. Am le tired as I write this. I'll edit it later with better examples.

God yes. Something really needs to be done about the repetition. Most players that aren't at endgame yet do all minigames every day to try to get stats for gear...and most of the time you get crap stats that you can't use, or any stat other than the one you're looking for. It gets so repetitive that it burns a lot of people out.

Minigames were one of the reasons I quit for a year. I got tired of spending 2-3 hours a day doing nothing but festival events, dailies, and minigames. And it's so much worse if you do it on multiple characters. So much time spent on the exact same things every day, usually for no usable stat...it gets very boring. Adding something new to these instances would be fun, and it'd be nice to see Goblin's be an actual challenge that needs to be done with a party for once. Plus, an increase in shells gained by harder modes would be awesome. It's already getting to be too much of a grind to get stats.

I always wanted more group games. I find it strange that they all solo games except GG. Would love 2-3 more group games to quest with people. Anytime I do GG I always shout in zone see if any lower lvl's need escort just so not playing alone.

While it'd be nice to have minigames give more shells, I'm not sure how they would be more "fun". It'll pretty much be the same thing but give more shells. Than I think I'd rather have them decrease the shells needed for shell gear back to 120 so I don't have to worry about the 1k shell cap.

As for new minigames, I think I'd like to see new public events instead, where a boss spawns (with a message telling everyone in the zone, spawns several times a day, and same time everyday), and everyone can go kill it, and everyone will get a crimson stat, regardless of whether you're in a party or not (so certain guilds can't camp it and prevent others from farming it).

You'll only get the drop the first time you kill it each day (so no overfarming).

And since it only gives crimsons, it wouldn't attract many TOSH-H geared people that can burn him down in 2 seconds.

Not going to ever happen. You are asking them to change too much. Adding content in minigames=programming, which in turn = Dream on. Not to mention, it wouldn't change anything at all. Endgamers would stilll blaze right through it, so all you are asking for is more rewards. Mini games, Dailys, Planting, I want my games to be FUN not chores. They need to just offer an option to just trade the tokens for the shells. Run the game if you want the extras like phirius pots etc.

I personally love this idea! (Except possibily for the legendary Survival Game *Legendary would be crazy hard ><*) If only if only the developeers took ideas from the players ^^. Anyway love the idea hope it gets heard. I just have one question, would you be able to do more than one difficulty a day?

Well if you been doing the mini games since the shells started your sick of them...So i have all the titles from there... my goblin badges and ghost cards are piling up..What about some new titles.

Instead of increasing rewards, I'd also think about reducing the grind investment. Let's say COT easy has 4 runs for the 50 shells as it does now. COT Normal has 3 for same rewards - except that you have harder obstacles and fewer good tiles like cannons or monster portals. Even if they reduced the non-precious chests to 6, I'd rather run that. COT hard? Run two rounds on extra hard obstacles and still fewer easy tiles.

Increased rewards are good, but might be too unbalancing if mega-OP people can rack more shells. But, you make it faster run, and I think they will be happy.

It'd be more about the repetitiveness and ease of doing it. It's boring to me because I can simply run through all 4 of these in a total of a half hour (and have been able to since level 60.) I do COT in 5 minutes, Survival in 8, Goblins in 5(?), and Ancient Treasure in like 1 minute flat and add travel time. With these, I'd actually have to think and would challenged. In Goblins, you'd need a group to do the ones around your combat level. It'd be like a mini-instance almost. A big bad mini-instance at Legendary.

End gamers would blaze right through Easy and Medium. I doubt they would blaze right through Hard. They wouldn't blaze right through Legendary. Take Goblins for example. You have 30 minutes to kill 4 level 80 bosses. But first, you have to get through level 80 mobs. Anyone who did Gobs at level 50 will tell you that the mobs in gobs aren't a joke when they are around your same level. At level 80, we might be able to blaze right through legendary. But by then shell gear is going to cost 450 shells to get.

Yeah, I remember dying a few times in gobs :( This would be a good idea nd almost a must UNLESS they plan on nerfing the price of outdated shell gear. Im not going to grind mini games for one stat a week. Which is what it will eventually become.
