They should not allow new players to have access to AH imo have some other way where they can get materials for quests and stuff they actually need. I hate explaining to EVERY new player they don't need to use the AH. A stating guide quest would be nice addition in Dalanis where they actually need to know.

There are REALLY annoying new players on Isiltir :P

Well, let's assume, for the sake of the discussion, that the change was made to work as intended. I have never heard any newbie complaining about Varanas being too impressive, nor have I read any post asking for such a change, but let's assume that Runewaker / Frogster / a bored developper (or whoever is in charge of making such decisions) considered that something had to be done to ease the pressure on newbie when they first visit Varanas, and purposefully limited the number of destination available from the transporter on the bridge.

Well, in such a case, it is a really poor solution. People would still find the complete choice of destination when they talk to the 2nd transporter, so the problem would remain the same. If indeed a fix was needed, just 2 minutes of thinking would have brought a much better solution: for instance, let each transporter in Varanas have only one available destination initially ; but once you have visited this destination, it becomes available from any transporter (a little bit like the snoop network). The first visit is like a one-way trip, but after that, you are free to go wherever you want. Doing so, the 1% of newbie who would have been impressed can explore Varanas without being awe-strucked by the huge number of possible destinations, and the 99% of players who hop daily through Varanas can do so without the added hassle to make one additional jump (and potentially crash).

If it is indeed working as intended, it was a really poor change, completely uncalled for, which is doing more bad than good.
If it is a bug, then it should be fixed urgently.

I guess I'll sum it all up by saying, in this case with this game we are getting what we pay for.... Hence free to play game.... Therefore I really don't have high expectations of Runes of Magic but I will say they have far exceeded my expectations for a free to play game.

Because they are important functions of the game that you will use when you become a higher level, but not before your level 30. What are you gonna use the AH for before level 30? You gonna sell your lvl 14 sword? Or you gonna buy something with your 45 k gold that you've saved up from quests? And who are you going to get mail from before level 30? Just because you learn what the ah and mailbox does at lvl 1 doesn't mean you'll be using them at that time.

Well I use it all before lvl30. I use AH to sell blend runes that I get on low lvl toons. And yes I put my old weapon in AH just in case some low lvl will need it. Well 45k gold, I usually have more than that but it's enough to buy some decent low lvl weapon. I use mailbox to get some gear from my main and gear I bought in AH or the gold from selling stuff.

You're missing the point here that you aren't a new player. You've played before, a new player has no need of the auction house or the mailbox.

They may not need, but thats no reason to take it away.

Explain your opinion

I think Blake's point was that there are less options of transportation to make it less intimidating for new players who first go to varanas. I kind of agree with that. When I first went to varanas, I thought it would take me forever to learn where everything was and what everything did. Still, there should be a way for high level players to transport anywhere from the gates, since I now know where everything is and what it all does... well almost. Still not sure of what everything is in lower city east.

Just for someone who dont know.. In past when u visited varanas first time you could see only those three option so the point that newbie will get confused is totally out of question. There are a lot of quests in varanas east and west which require you to go out of varanas and come back to east/west and now when a newbie teleports out he will get confused where to go now to hand in quest.
If it was intended then i would say 3 years is a long time to realize something is not done the way it should. Their developers are just a bunch of noobs that dont even know their own code. Just look at the Charge chop changes. One skill change and it alone made a lot of imbalance and bugs. If only they know how this skill if related to primary and secondary classes and how many elite skills are modified version of it they could do something good. All the changes made by them appears to be random and not even tested devs let alone testing team.
It made me laugh when i read Charged chop has 1 second CD which is shared by potws(or what ever it was). Really.. do they know an instant skill is supposed to trigger 1 second GCD so having a CD of 1 second doesn't make any sense and that too shared with other skill. In fact CC(now instant skill) dont trigger GCD at all that make us think that these changes were in development before GCD changes were done.
Probably they do read our suggestions and discussion.. remember when wardens were buffed every one started claiming its too powerful that is the time they read it and started making changes and like all other time they were too slow with development and patched it after 1 year. So u can guess r/s or p/s nerf will also be in line but 1-2 years from now :D

How do you know what a New player needs? New players have different needs and they are not all the same. Some players come from other games that have economic systems that work quite differently than the one in RoM. Some games have massive Merchanting systems running and you can play the AH like a game. In those type of systems you need to get in early and get a feel for the system. Other games have Merchanting Guilds that basically control the AH and if you don't know what you are doing you will never have enough currency to do anything.

I played one game that I spent more time at the AH than I did actually playing the actual game. This game is lucky that these players from the game I came from didn't come take over this economy, you think the prices are inflated now....LOL!
I reject your reality and choose my own instead!

And tmblake09 wisely stated: "And like people have said, new players do not have any use for a mailbox or an auction house. They would find no use for such things until much later, which is why i believe the teleporter should be level locked so all the transport points open at a certain level."

Yet as every player attempts to enter their Guild Castle, the first question they are asked is "Would you like to BUILD a Guild Castle". From this it's obvious that Runester is working to ease the intellectual burden on noobs. /end Snark

I'm sure if enough people talk about this, Runewaker will realize that the varanas bridge transporter is the most important and most desired fix such that they will drop everything else they are working on to straighten this item out.

Hey, at least its preferable to them doing something like nerfing wardens.
