I don't like this and I will tell you why. Not everyone plays the game the same way and not everyone cares where there gear comes from. Not every player can dedicate the hours required to be in a "raid guild", that certainly doesn't mean they are not worthy of obtaining any level of raid gear during any time period of this game. If I farm the gold required to obtain an item then I most certainly deserve it in my mind and that's where it counts. Also if I am spending real life cash for an item through either an abl + diamond items, or selling the diamonds for gold, am I not deserving of the armor in your eyes, because god forbid I'm a chump that didn't slug through level 50 instances before I even knew about this game. I hate your mentality, it's poor.
...but the game would be better if more people played the way I do. No, seriously, and before you get all "who are you to tell me how to play", let me explain.
I started playing RoM back in 2009. At that time, I'd say 90% of the population mostly enjoyed running instances, and there were plenty of instance runs to be found. This is why I kept playing RoM, because that was very fun for me. Since then, they added Siege War. When they added that my server (Govinda) started to get a lot of PvP'ers, and people that just log in for siege and that is it, and don't run instances. Then a while later they added actual decent gear and end-game stats that you could buy with mentos (before that mentos were not too popular -- you ran HotO for gear, not mentos). Then a while later they added public events where you could get tons of mentos just by sitting around and chatting with friends, or just AFK even. They also added easily spammable content you could get mentos from, which people turned to when public events stopped giving large amounts of mentos.
...they keep adding more and more things to take away from instance running. The people that have played this game for a long time mostly came to run instances (if not, what they heck were they doing back in ch2? lolz), and I think a lot of us would like to see the game attract those type of players again.
I'm not saying you have to play the game like me, I just wish that was the main focus of the game again, and people that don't like it can continue to play whatever else they played before RoM -- Hello Kitty or w/e that was.
