True, *someone* is paying for you to get endgame, but it is possible to get there for free to yourself.


Technically you really can't without them turning a blind eye to Gifting for gold. If they stop that F2P becomes a Demo to 55 and all you can do is buy used gear to even have a chance at end game. I'm waiting for that to happen at some point.....because the game can be "F2P" even if you can't reach end game as a F2Per. Level cap can be reached without any IS/CS use.

Blind eye? I think they've stated gifting for gold is not against ToS at all.

At any rate.. even if they get rid of gifting for gold, a person could still play F2P. People will find a way. If they still have ABLs, you'll just see fully statted and plussed end-game gear on AH, instead of people posting unstatted gear.

The best part of the game is the early part, so if that is all F2P people get to experience, then good for them! Maybe there would be more of them, and they could actually find FA runs that take hours like they used to... fun ones.

Hmmm.... I suppose there is some truth in that statement. My guildmate waited over a week before they got a real answer. And that answer basically proved that Frogster made the mistake. But it also shows they don't examine evidence correctly/carefully and follow a system of guilty until proven innocent, and they control all the evidence.

A lot of them have $1,000s invested in their toon, so you going to tell me that people aren't going to lie about something like hacking/cheating/exploiting when it comes to saving something they invested so much in?

I recall one person in vent talking about buying gold from a website, then a couple months later they get banned and the entire guild is all upset and buying their story about "they wouldn't even tell me why". I just kept my mouth shut, but was thinking "do you guys not remember anything" lolz.


Except I've witnessed real life examples to cause me to question this.

They've actually stated on numerous occasions that gifting for gold is only tolerated by them. They won't ban for it, but they won't "support" it, either, which is why they won't put a CoD function in for CS gifting, and why they haven't/will not ever ban people who scam others out of gold or diamonds in such transactions.

Yes a blind eye....and it was suppoesed to only be a temp blind eye until they found a replacement for dia's in the AH. But like the final knight balancing...it never happened.

Yes...you could get end game gear from other players......But it would always be one instance/level cap behind. Not to mention it would be rather difficult to get Hammers to keep the UD gear OD. people complain about how many hammers they use now.....it would be much worse. people would be even more selective about the who was in the party because they would be afraid of dura loss and more people using UD gear that they couldn't get hammers for.
