You're in swords of valor and talking about camping world bosses? A bit hypocritical considering your GL used to be parked outside hippo and 2 alts on the other channel for I don't know...6 months maybe?

Hey now, past is past. A full raid of players tried Hackman(75) on Osha and most of the party wiped on the first AoE. I dunno if it was a false start or if it was a slaughter, wasn't there. All I got to say is that it's gonna take an army to bring down these beefed up bosses.

A good way to fix this is by doing the same thing they did with Krolin (I have no experience but I hear you can set difficulty like an instance), instead of forcing the level 75 version.

I don't have time to catch-up on this post I started, but I can tell you that we (BTeam) took down lvl75 Wodjin twice the other night and he didn't drop ANY gear/stats at all. Just some tokens that I haven't found out what they are for yet, some vendors that have gear I guess. Can't wait to try Hackman.

Don't. Unless last night's maint finally fixed him, he's bugged. You'll crash the entire zone and not be able to log into your account for hours.

Last night's maintenance should make it so that he does not spawn. If you see level 75 Hackman, please do not attack him, but instead, report it either via a ticket or on the forums.

Did Hippo three times yesterday with a tosh-marginal knight and a backup warden tank, and once with a real tosh tank (champion). All three did just fine.

He seems to want about 400k pdef. All three tanks had about 180k hp.

He's just like the regular Hippo- until he summons a Gale (yellow emote) and smacks three people or pets if you are lucky with a varying hit (it's an unnamed skill- ball of light looking thingy) that seems to randomly hit for between 20-400k hp.

Hope that your tank doesn't get hit with the 400k ball. That's why we kept a second tank in reserve.

You would think this would be a heal and/or dps intensive fight, but it really isn't. We managed to keep a 16-man party up with two p/ks- the party either takes no damage, light damage or they get one-hit, so you just focus heal the tank. As far as dps goes, yes, more is better, but even with a marginal party, it was slow but doable.

I think any group that can do ToSH can do this, easily.

Personally, I want to try Griff the Super Centaur, but everyone is hoping they'll fix Hackman, since he does look easier. TB bosses look like... death. Don'tmakemeIdon'twanna.

As far as the loot issue goes, it's already caused tears of agony, recrimination, and I think it started a guild war. Whoever thought it would be a good idea for one person in a 36man raid to get three pieces of gear, and the rest get squat- needs to be fed to Hackman and left in the broken zone forever.

Why they could not have made it like mementos, where we all got a few, and increased the prices so it would be balanced (still get about the equivalent of three pieces of gear's worth across a raid) I do not know. Now, no one will ever want to pug this- it's like a big screaming sign: COME AND NINJA ME PLZ!

Super Hippo is fun. Loot dynamic is daft.

uhm hate to disappoint you Fan but atleast by reading the patch notes there is no super Griffith :D

its only Wodjin & Hackman , Mandara (Spiderqueen) and both TB bosses. All have been done meanwhile, Lagusen and Targonharl are said to be really heavy :D

All this does is encourage endgame guilds to shut the rest of the playerbase out and spawncamp those bosses for themselves. For bosses that are this hard, they should drop more than the equivalent of 3 stats, considering how many people it may take to bring them down, depending on gear.

I remember when people used to PUG raid hard world bosses. It doesn't happen anymore. Every guild is only out for themselves, and the limited rewards these bosses give will only exacerbate that.

Idk about your server but on Palenque we have a rule now. Noto can kill two lvl 75 hippos and then the rest of the server can pug and kill one. I worked well and people actually made a huger 36 people raid. The problem with this in that pug raid everyone need on shells and the person that gets them get everything and don't have to share or something like that. So other people will just get nothing. But in Noto everything works just fine and one person gets shells then all who needs gear rolls and 3 highest rolls win the gear or stat. Wish it was like mems but it's not :(.

No Super-Griff?

I cry. He's my buddy. He would be epic in 75 too, with mages all chain stunning his super-adds. What's wrong with those Runewaker meanies anyway?

@Narix, we're going to not kill more than 2 channels of Hippo and leave the other for the server to pug if they wish- which isn't quite the same thing as assuming they won't beat us to the punch on all three channels.

Just to clarify, Noto isn't staking a permanent claim on two channels. Whoever gets there first gets there. We just aren't planning on hogging all three channels so that everyone gets a chance. And we're available to help pug that hypothetical third channel one if you want to invite us to help.

And from what I heard, Narix, the server pug dealt with the loot issue pretty well. It's a nasty loot dynamic for sure though.

as from the normal version: tried killing them ASAP? (did not try the level75 version but on the normal version if you killed the birds/ravens fast enough the immobilizing debuff wouldnt appear afaik). On the other hand i could be wrong because its been ages :D But its worth a try *g*

Yeah, they have 3.5m hp and they spawn very quickly in groups lol. We've contemplated having a couple of kiters running them so they don't debuff me :/
It's annoying, wodjin hits like a toy soldier till those birds debuff me >.<

We did Woodjin a few more times since my last post, so some new info (I know some has been posted already, but a recap and from a person that has the str/stam stat to be sure about it):

The green tokens he drops can be exchanged for gear with random Eternity stats from the NPC next to shell vendors in central plaza. These Eternity stats are ORANGE but they are 2 stat orange, not 3 stat, and are awesome. They are +20 over the current Eternity/Bygone stats, so I'm guessing will be better than the lvl75 instance stats that will probably be +10 over the current stats. The stats we (as a guild) have seen so far include sta/hp (yah, you read that right), sta/pa, str/pa (I got this one), sta/dex. I think a couple guildies did get some /mdef junk, but all-in-all the drop rate seems to be at least better than shell/codex so far -- or maybe we are just lucky so far.

The drop does drop with all 15 tokens in 1 stack, so you only get to roll once. However, they are not bound, so you can always make up your own rules to spread them out as you like. Our guild is very generous/fair to all members, so we just had 1 person roll need, then we all did /roll and the top 3 each got 5 tokens, enough for 1 stat. Group had around 11 members, and with hippo up on all 3 channels, and the "once you win, you don't get to role again" rule, almost everyone got something.

So for those that choose to QQ, so be it, but there are nice ways of playing the game and sharing with others. Took a lot of teamwork to down this boss, and was not a burn. Took several deaths, and several trys, and even once we got it down, still takes over 10 minutes (I know because I played my lute several times each fight) to kill it with several of the top dps on the server. Tanks with 400-500k pdef can still be 1-shot also, so better have a back-up plan.

As for the birds, I recommend kiting, killing quickly, and/or out-of-party helpers to distract them. Think outside the box, and be organized, and you can do it.

p.s.-He seems to respawn faster than 72 hours after killing the 75 version, but maybe caused by server resets, not positive.

On Indigo we have a similar system. Someone bugs the Hippo on all 3 channels or whichever he is on, then the server forms a massive pug group. We all kill him and then the top 3 rolls get 5 each. Since you can mail the items it works out well and everyone has been honest so far. If someone was to keep all 3 for himself they would never be allowed to join again. So far lots of people have been able to get the new chests. Also we put in a if you one once you cant win again rule till more chests have gone around. It is working well for us.

What is this "chests" you speak of? A chest piece worth wearing, house chest, or otherwise? Sorry, couldn't find any mention of it or figure this out from the other posts in this thread.

Also... are you guys sure we/you should be talking about bugging the birds in these forums? Or is that actually legit and not considered taking advantage of a bug (would be nice if a GM could let us know because I know this practice has been going on for years now, and everyone has been pretty open, so if not aloud we should have some warning about it please).
