Returning thoughts

Hey all, havent been here for awhile. Came back at the beginning of Ch.V to play with the dwarves and see what has changed. I see a good deal has changed and not changed at the same time. I dont kinow whether to be surprised or not, probably not. I have, however, seen a few things that stick out enough for me to say something.

1. P/S. Really? Took forever to get rid of the scout burns from Ch.III/ beginning Ch.IV and there is a class thats worse in siege then a scout was. Ice Blade is a ridiculously over powered skill. It has been but I think Im seeing more of it now since Ive been back. Spammable with no GCD and high damage that seems to ignore most defense. Yeah, thats fair. And a lot of P/S's that Ive seen have been using targeting macros so not only is it a one-button class, they dont even push that button. It is kinda funny that some of the P/Ss Ive seen running around are FOTM players who couldnt wait for another glitched class.

2. Siege itself. Congratz on getting siege relatively stable. Its to the point where I may crash once a month in siege, and thats usually because theres a ton of flame towers and/ or player buffs going off all at the same time. Nice that the tower guards got upgraded so that a level 50 cant one shot them anymore. Actually, outside of P/Ss in siege I enjoy it quite a bit now. And it seems that a lot of the real (insert random expletive here)s have left the game so I dont run into the name calling and other unpleasantness anymore. I still see a few things that need to be fixed, like the BETA tag so that RW will take it seriously and fix the rest of the issues instead of shoving out broken content. Getting rewards as an example. I always get less rewards then the merit farmers. Something not right there, but at least Im getting rewards when a lot of people still dont. And when we do crash we still lose everything weve worked for during that period of time before the crash. Nice that the herald issue is "fixed" but it would be even nicer to be able to keep that 500 merits we had just farmed and on the way to the castle to buy stuff with.

3. R/K. Still my favorite class to play, still the one I never use. Which part of nerfing disarm wasnt understood a year ago when it made R/K no longer a fully viable dps class with parties? With recons in both daggers the second I run out of energy and have to start spamming Holy Strike Im the tank. Sure, I can solo, and do, most anything I want, but I like playing in parties too. And I always have to go R/S unless I want to tank. As more and more times goes on I consider the opinion expressed a long time ago, that the developers play R/Ss and didnt want anything to compete with them, except now they play P/Ss.

4. Dwarves. Overall a nice addition to the game. I played a Wa/M for awhile and thoroughly enjoyed it. The warlocks seem to have very great potential. Champions seem to have a lot of potential also. I just missed playing my Rogues. Which leads me to:

With the fixes done to Wardens and Champion being introduced we have 2 classes with the potential to out tank the tanks. Not to mention W/K, N/W and several other classes with plate ability. Everyone in game is talking about level 75 gear and when the level cap is going to be changed and knights are still not up to par, skill or ability wise.

5. Diamonds and item sales. Its very nice to see Cedric implemented and working correctly. Its also nice to see the diamond cost lowered on a lot of items to the point where their reasonable. However, removing ABLs from the item shop regularly hurt the economy more then introducing Cedric will help fix. Now we have to wait to buy things or give things to guildies until theres a sale and hope that the players farming gear stock up on enough ABLs to get through to the next sale. You probably find a higher revenue if people were able to buy ABLs constantly since their constantly needed for players to progress and gear. Im sitting on a few items right now until theres another ABL sale since I farmed them and cant unbind them.

6. Banning botters and reporting. For weeks on end I have seen people botting guard dogs and other sellable items. I have talked to multiple others who have reported such and yet they are still there. I have had the displeasure of running into extremely rude players (a few) who I would love to see some manners taught to. Yet I dont really see an option to report them for what they are doing. Would love to see a GM thread where things like that can be discussed.

Overall I would say Im pleased that there has been progress made. I enjoy the new (to me) instances like ToSH and AC. I enjoy being in sieges where there is a challenge. And I enjoy seeing some of the friends I had before I left and making new ones. I think RoM is on the edge of being a great game, just needs more attention paid to what the players go through to do what they need to do and enjoy doing.

they reworking Knight with Might Shield patch and pretty much make our life a nightmare and they keep doing with new patch all the time soo the next reworking maybe gonna be a new nightmare.

Yeah, there was a Knight "balancing" during Ch IV, the Mighty Shield Patch, which turned out to be a mighty fail. They intended to buff knights, and nerfed them instead. And they never fixed the mistake...

And P/S won't be nerfed. The second most replied to thread was the P/S nerf thread. And RW's response was to nerf wardens' tanking abilities. But at least they kinda fixed wardens again.

im not holding my breath. i dont think they will ever significantly boost us knights, they have done their best since chapter 4 to replace us more than anything. after the mighty shield patch we all complained and we got nothing just slaps in the face with w/k and wd/w getting the ability to wear plate and then again with the introduction of a whole new tanking class

as for the other things mentioned alot has gotten better, the diamond vendor is a huge help

and high damage that seems to ignore most defense.
Technically, it completely ignores defense 100%. Now Mdef on the other hand it does not ignore, and makes a pretty substantial difference in damage (assuming the player has any...not my fault rw didnt give people an incentive to stat it for pve).

How exactly does creating a macro make it so you don't have to push any buttons anymore? that sounds like a bot...Even DiYCE users that also make their class one button still have to push it to attack.

As far as the guard lv goes, it makes 0 difference to anyone with a lved character, they are just as 1-2 shottable as before and a rogue can still walk right by them and cap the tower in hide w/o getting aggro.

..i actually still see quite a bit of this, although i guess less than before. See the recent threads regarding people calling hax and exploits.

Also dont forget that throw/combo throw got a MAJOR buff recently. Now pretty much every rogue can be sorta like a r/s and do respectible damage at range, also another filler skill to use when out of energy.

It's ok the mighty shield patch completly fixed the Knight class

Luckily u can avoid going to the dog meat daily to lv now. The new zone has dailies that you can turn in all 10 over the span of 1-2mins..total.

Hey Quaffy and Gigi, havent seen you guys in a long time. I dont hate P/S, they still have a purpose. As far as a GCD Ive seen it ignore the GCD too many times to think it really works right. Example, me and another rogue cruise through mid from r2 to l2, come to the small bridge below l2. A P/S is running across the bridge. Both of us target him, I step out of hide and both of us die before we ever hit him. No one else around, one of our mages killed him right after and ran across the bridge. On another occasion a party of 4 runs up to a tower and a P/S pops out of a invis tower and all 4 die within a 2 sec timespan. All from iceblade. Again, others run up to the tower within 10 secs or so, only one P/S. Ive had it hit me 3-4 times while Im still trying to get my second attack off. And you are correct, it is pretty much a normal skill back in the real world, nothing special. For being FOTM there were a few P/Ss around before, however I have seen a lot of M/P take scout their third and wear their mage gear for siege as P/S and then go back to M/P after.

A rogue cannot hide and cap a tower, the act of capping knocks them out of hide. They then have to recast hide and hope no one saw or sees them.

As far as throw I was very surprised to see the damage it puts out since it was changed. However, it still has a cooldown and so does combo throw. They can be worked into a rotation but they are not and should not be main skills, their for pulling mobs and ganking mages.

The mighty shield patch, sorry to say, occurred while I was gone so I do not know what all happened there. I can tell you that when I left all of my toons had their gear on and the same gear when I came back gave me the same result as before. I do know that I cannot match a champion buffed out for pdef, a W/K or warden for DPS etc etc.

It's been proven, over and over, that Ice Blade DOES conform to the GCD.

What you saw was client lag.

You might get hit by more than 2 per second, if your client is behind the p/s's client, but the p/s CANNOT cast more than 1 IB every .5 seconds.

And yeah, like Quaffy said, it does ignore defense completely. PHYSICAL defense, that is. Oddly, it doesn't ignore mdef at all. o.O

If you're having troubles with p/s's, stack more mdef on one or two pieces just for PvP, and use mdef food. You'll be amazed. No, really. Try it and see. Kanu went from getting hit by me for 100k+ to 30-40k hits, just by adding mdef.

And a P/S isnt the only one who can do it as a W/R i was able to get Blood Dance and Shadow Stab off at the same time in the same global. Its basicallly similar to the scout shot spam of chapter 3.

Yeah, that is right. Occasionally the GCD bugs and you get skill-skill-GCD-GCD which is the same for all instants with GCD.

That makes Iceblade, the same as any instant, exactly the same as Shot that had no GCD and when you got the attack speed to 0.5 it rounded to zero.

Not a single difference.

Can I make wild stab in the dark and guess that you might be an R/S? Hey look at your sig. What are the odds?

S/K, S/WD will outdo a P/S and P/S is a lot more vulnerable.

Add combo throw and throw to your rotation and your dps will still be good. I am a R/S but run as R/K a lot for example in AC to offtank ice boss on the brothers.

So, now someone is exploiting the game by too fast clicking action button?! :D

It more sounds like bug in the game, then an exploit.

ps. Just leveling my P/S alt so that I can try this... :)

Sadly I don't playmuch anymore b/c aint no tanks to do anything =\ At least on my server =\ even tried recruiting players but they're not serious about pushing anything or wont leae their current guilds so i said f it. If they don't want to put the time in effort in i wont either:) and Hi wolf, Might be a bad time to come back now, =\ Unless you're on Artemis or Reni it seems and then you'd hae to be in a guild that's running stuff or you'll getbored!

it is not, what you are seeing is graphics lag you can get better results if you cast rising tide and spam ice blade while its casting,

I am R/S for ToSH but i prefer to play S/R or S/W

Exploit??? The skill works fine, your client just isnt updating u on what is happening in real time. P/S isnt bugging anything unless u call pressing the attack button quickly an exploit, but that would just be silly

the skill works fine yes it does what it is supposed to do which is an instant cast however if spammed fast enough can hit a player 2-4 times in the same global cooldown which is not working as intended. It is not my client that isnt updating its not lag or video card problems its obvious and straight to the point casted faster then the global therefore making it an exploit. We argue this all day about your broken class or you can man up or woman up and say Hey yes this is how i get kills in siege because if it wasnt this way I would go down faster then a cheap hooker after labor day.
