Random Massive FPS drops

Is anyone else getting random massive FPS drops in game? In the past few days, I'd sometimes get my FPS dropped down to 2-3. Mainly experienced this when i log in in Varanas, where I used to get 10-15 FPS, and sometimes in siege as well.

Ping is usually a little higher than normal at during these lag spikes. Normal ping is about 90-100, lag spike ping is around 110-120.

My Internet seems to be as fast as normal. I can load all the websites at the same speed as before.

.

There is an apparently on going massive DDoS attack against GoDaddy (based in AZ). It appears to have been on and off and affected most if not all sites they host as well as domain names registered through them.

It seems this has been going on since Sunday.

Not sure if this is related, but it certainly would affect latency in some areas.

fps really isnt effected much by ping...the amount of data passing between you and the server is small. the ping/acks are just rapid. if your ping is stable and it's just actual fps drops (shown on the ui or external fps monitor) it's probably just the client trying to load 10 million more textures than it needs to since theres more than 10 ppl in veranus for once. damn events. dropping the view distance to like 7-9% only helps.

you would be stunned to see how far away some stuff is that roms client starts to load. watching the ros pulls is....frightening

could be million other things though.

Not last few days, but I reinstalled client yesterday to fix the "messed up graphics glitch" issue, and now my FPS really suck. Granted, they were usually around 2-30 fps with settings on low before, but now they are much worse. I'm guessing having the messed up graphics, which was mostly missing/invalid textures was making my FPS higher because the game didn't need to draw so much detail. I only wish the "remove spell effects" tricks/mods could be legal still, so I could maybe remove some textures and be able to continue playing the game, even if ugly as heck. As it stands now, not sure what I'll do... might have to bite the bullet and ask my wife if I can play RoM again, so I can play on the desktop PC instead of hiding away playing on my laptop :(*
