Chaos Vortex: Evil NPC's missing?

Somehow the Instance was open yesterday evening on Artemis Server. Quite a number of us got a look at the place and got owned. However after the reset not only is the instance closed but all the npc's relevant to opening it are gone, aswell as the portals where the mobs spawn to get the shards, only the 2 weapons vendors in lower city west are still present.

Is this normal? are they manually spawned by GM's? Just a little sad that everyone been working so hard to figure this out and now we seem to be back at square one. :<

Side Note: Thanks to who ever managed to get it open and give us a chance to at least breath the air in there! :D

The wishing well fountain at end of the bridge. Varanas gets covered in a purple haze, we all throught our screens were broken LOL. A huge portal as at the fountain you just run into it. You are then transported to the entrance of the instance where there are npc's one being the vendor of the legendary weapons, his to the right. He sells them for 10k each. They are +16 T10 Statted. You can run along the walls and dodge the mobs with some fancy foot work to get to the 95m HP first Boss, that apparently hits for 1m. I died before getting to him so i didn't get a chance to feel his wrath. :<

The Weapons dissapear after leaving the instance... small part of me was hoping that they messed up on that part :p dang Runewaker!

Just checked now again, on artemis all 3 channels the wishing well is barren. just the guards standing at the pillars. :/

There are level 60 mob spawn south of lake of magic mist at like 45.0/42.0 (around there, not sure).
They have a significantly higher chance of dropping Cystals and Shards.


I think there's a CD before we get back to stage one.

So it is gone....I know a few of my guildmates spent alot of time and gold to open it and was open a few hrs and now its gone.
Since maint last night:
Vortex gone
Richie broken
Owenstein nerfed (giving out low grade items)

Anyone notice the relation ter the vanishin o the vortex wit the decrease o cows an Ritchies? Methinketh Ritchie herded the cows back inter their vortex, so the portal closed.

The way Chaos Vortex works, once the portal was open it will take a certain amount of time ("several hours") before Stage 1 activates again. So CharlieBananas is right :)

Is it also designed to close for every server reboot? If so, I guess it will close at least weekly due to scheduled maintenance. Bummer, although I suspect will not be a huge issue once we all get better at reopening it.

The well now needs a contribution of 200m until Artemis moves to the next phase... which is crystals.

The document given earlier that I made is still accurate, but for some reason the day the chaos vortex was opened, there were level 60 mobs around the lake of mist that were dropping crystals (the reward for turning in 5 shards) as well as one shard. The drop rate was 100% for both, and this made opening the vortex, well, bearable.

Unfortunately the vortex was opened up a few hours b4 maint... so we didn't even get a chance to take down first boss. That's basically it.

Opening Vortex from on non-maintenance day to make it last longer or will it be fixed to extend over maintenance? How long is it open before it closes after its open?

Third phase is the actual Instance.
