I honestly have no preference. I will go where the info is, as long as it's consistent. I listened to the Romcast religiously. I liked the fact that even if there wasn't breaking news at least there was some interaction between FA and the player base. Since the disbanding of FA and the departure of Swag, the comms have been lack lustre to say the least. Just talk, and most of us will listen

A DAY ADVANCE NOTICE would be nice and forums is fine. I log in in forums even at work to see what is happening in ROM.

Forum, please. I love news and announcements forum, because its color scheme does not make my eyes bleed.

As an alternative, I say pass the news to Steve (those on Reni know who I am talking about) and give her a bunch of megas to announce it in world. The results are sure to be highly amusing.

A problem with doing this pull on the forums is that a lot of players don't use the forums. So your results will only be from 10% of the playerbase that use forums.

Just as Noblewarrior has noticed, this poll has major issues, almost like any polls on US election that shows Romney in lead... :D

VADE RETRO politics ^^

Well yeah, I kinda agree that it is a bit flawed, but we had to post the poll somewhere ^^ It is up on Facebook as well. So spread the word about this Poll in your guild, if you like, so we get more people attending :)

Info being on the website and forums to me are the most important. It is a hassle to have to look at all the places to see new vs just simple going to the games site and forums to find out stuff about it.

I always viewed it as, i play runes of magic. I want to find out info about runes of magic from runes of magic (aka site and forums).

I have no interest in twitter, has nothing to do with RoM. Facebook is a socail media, not runes of magic info hot spot.

When events/ updates / or changes to the game (patchs) happen the first place i want to look for this info in the RoM site(forums are part of the site).

What is a point of a website for a game where all it is used for is download the game and never give you info about new stuff and etc.

I hope you do not mind me giving a reason to why i voted the way i did vs just voting and saying nothing.

Edit: I don't mind newsletter to the email as long as it is for very important things like new chapters or super big events.
This is mainly for people who take a break from the game and don't try to see if anything is going up, they will be told about new things that are very big and rare.

If the news involves the 30% mount speed potions or Reconciliation VII's going on sale again I'd like to get a personal email, phone call and house visit just to make sure I'm there when it happens.

In all seriousness though, website homepage is fine, forums being second best.

Forums/website are fine. As said above I have no interest in twitter or facebook and really don't want to rely on a secondary medium to find out about the game.

Maybe also a small window that pops up on your screen when you log in (only once though please) that would tell you about any sales/special events/ect that are happening. Not the seasonal events that run for weeks at a time.

Voted for website/forums, but what I really want is a link to news/sales and really active forum threads during the loading screen XD

I read the forums as if it were my newspaper....I generally check the forums before I log in so I know f there is some glitch that will poof my Housemaids or something of that sort if I log in. That way I can log on an alt and check with guild mates to see if it's safe. :)

I would like news on the Client page and on the Forums, but if only one or the other I'd say forums. The up side to the forums being the Place for news is we could gain more forum users and they might actually read some of the Guides users have put time into posting for the community.;)
I reject your reality and choose my own instead!

Patch Notes/Sales/Events----->should be on the startup client, in addition to the main site.

I picked facebook, but i'd rather have it announced in the scrolling bar. Reaches more viewers that way and you only need a small summary and then a "visit x for more information"

Like for this release, could have said;
"Diamonds are now available to list on the Auction House! Visit x for more information."

That's good also ^

Newsletter? Assumming that means email, never read it unless I know something Im interested is gonna be in there. Twitter/Facebook: Dont have a twitter or care to have one. Facebook I don't use except to log into things with. Website would be ok... but I dont have it bookmarks. Forums please. Or the launcher with the oddly blank nothingness in the middle? Would be nice to know when something interesting is gonna happen upon starting up my game.

Strangely enough, the poll asked on forum gets most votes for forum but the one asked on facebook gets most votes for facebook. Weird, no?

Also, you guys seemed to have forgotten the "Announcements" button in-game that hasnt been put to use since...chapter 2? Its been blank for so long, should start utilizing it that way people can know whats up via in-game as opposed to have to visit the main site and seeing "Flo and Andy!" every other day.

Weird...

Get a few people notified by putting on the forums... get all people logged into the game by posting on the game / launcher / "Announcements" like Raves said.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter, and I would be pretty irritated if I had to create accounts just to get news about RoM. I know a lot of people that refuse to use those sites as well.

The forums are easier than the website, IMO, with the website's new design. But as other people said, having patch notes on the launcher, like a lot of games do, would be pretty awesome.
