Do maintenance every 2 days?

I really think that if the coding in the game is going to remain at the same level of quality that it is at now, that they need to think about doing maintenance every second day to keep the game running so that people can actually play it. For the last 2 weeks I been able to play for about 2 days after they do maintenance, and then sidelined with all the glitched quests. Let me make it clear to the people who work for RoM that being able to play the game properly for 4 days out of 14 days is not doing anything to keep a good player base and you should really be looking at ideas like this to improve the game.

Yeah, what they said. I am sure all the proponents of the idea will be more than happy to pay the IT people to go to work every other night and spend couple hours running maintenance.

or at least a restart on a thursday, saturday, sunday, and then leaving the mait for tuesdays. That would put more resets during the weekend to make sure the quests are avail for the days more people are home.

Questionmark. This quote is prime example why this community and game is where it is at.

What does that the salary of this company (which you should know nothing about or are you being obvious?) have to do with the statement made by a player in regards to him being bugged on quests? As a customer I wouldn't care who they hire, when they hire them and how payroll is done, all I care about is being able to enjoy the game/product.

The entire situation could of been skipped if proper stress tests were put on consistently spawning mobs required for quests and at the same time are decent xp. They clearly did not do a thorough check on that section of this new map and for this their playerbase suffers.

So is the Cusp quest from the storyline bugged until it is fixed, or something a reset will fix?

Well the answer is pretty much yes to both of those questions ...... a reset will reset the mobs and they will work for awhile and then they will glitch again until someone patches up the code.

They are paying them already and they aren't fixing much any way so why not?

Sorry, they are getting paid to do what now? Their jobs. How well are they doing it? Not a whole lot. Where i work, i work until the job is done and THEN i get to go home.

Same. This is the point thats lost on so many.

Not only that, but if I turn out a product that is less than satisfactory (in that it has tons of coding errors, records errors, spelling errors, etc) I get monetarily penalized.

Prevents people from getting paid to do a job they do not do. I only wish things around here were more similar to that.

It seems so easy for you all to just think doing this is an easy process. Runes of Magic is a Free to Play game. They get the games running by doing little sales using item shop. They have a ton of expenses. Running a maintainance every other day requires resources. They do not have much resources as their main income is only base on the Item shop sales. This is not World of Warcraft where there is a stable income expected monthly. The use of their resources is base on their yearly Forecast on the sales. They can't just do what you want right away coz 1 or less than 20 people are complaining. They make budgets!!!

I would hope it is an easy process. They already have the something in place to shut down the servers and hopefully in a clean manner. They already have something in place to start the servers. After spending 3 week at the beginning of chapter 3 not being able to quest because of Blood and the quest in the tavern at the beginning on thunderhoof where you deal with the 2 drunks, my wife getting stuck at autopsy, 1 of my char got stuck on the quest that broke on sjf, the broken elven mage on njf should bring back memories for many I am not against the idea of a server restart.

Would imagine a server restart and not a full weekly type maintenance. The question to me is how long does shutting down then restarting the servers take. The problem with this for me is if it became a fix for those quests that only work for a short time after server start instead of fixing the quest properly.

It actually didn't even last a couple hours on some channels.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.
