Announcement of content every 3 months

How often do you want content to be released?

A total of 26 Votes have been submitted.

23%

Current model of 3 months is fine (6)

54%

Every 5 months or so to increase quality (14)

23%

Longer than 5 months (6)

0%

Shorter than 3 months

I remember there was an interview with Frogster a while ago where they planned to release content every 3 months.

Honestly, I think it is a terrible idea. Rather then giving us content that is buggy & broken (like most of the quests and NPC's called Sys_1516, or the first batch of the "amazing" warden fixes that broke a bunch of Wd/W skills), unusually laggy (like Front Line alliance camp), or just poorly thought out (like most of the 60/60 elites, the Krolin quest lore where a lady tells you that krolin was her boyfried (or husband?) 1000 years ago, and he got so angry that one day, he bursted into flame, or HM Worldbosses only drops loot for 1 person). Its the little things that matter, and a majority of those in RoM really wants to make you /facepalm.

The quality of the content is just decreasing. And its just sad to see groans of despair when new content is released. Instead of trying to rush content, it would be nice to get higher quality content that actually works, and is well thought out every 5-6 months instead.

I agree 3 months isn't long enough.. for different reasons. 3 months isn't long enough, especially with this new 75 content, to get all the new gear and stats, since i'm basically needing to replace every piece of gear. 3 months simply isn't going to be long enough.

Depends on the content, this is a massive game with so much more to offer but the powers that be won't switch old instance hardmode on, they wont release epic weapons, and this is chapter 4 content. We don't need new zones every three month, every 6 would suffice if in between new zones they were to revamp old ones. They are wasting beautiful instances like Origins. Programming bossed and gear would be alot less of a task then releasing AC for example.

i would love if they released a lvl 50-55 or even 65 mode for ALL the older instances like FA, BG, ACoS, NoM, Windmill basement, MA, Paspers...even making hard modes for existing lvl 50 instances would be great
to make it so that they don't need to make new loot, the hard mode instances could drop things like a low number of mems(# based on difficulty), guild contribution items, consumables, recipes, and rare materials. Very rare drops may include phirius coins and maybe a couple IS items(gods redemption tickest, big angels sigh, speed mount potions, luck potions). maybe a boss drops 25 guild runes, 3 hero pots, and maybe a rare material or recipe...
but you are only allowed to run the hard modes like 5 times a day or something, or u can only get loot the first 5 times, to prevent farming
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

i like this idea but have the mems appropriate for difficulty and have bosses drop guild rubies instead.

i did include "guild contribution items" in that list, and the mems were just an example...i would like to be able to get a fair number of mems from the hard modes, but not make them into mem spams

Meh if you can only do them 5 times a day (As suggested), having them give a good amount of mems wouldn't be too bad. Since you would only be able to get a finite number of mems each day from them.

I think it should be based on how many items are replaced. Maybe one month per item would be good? So if the new content has 4 new items in the new set, then every 4 months. I disagree that new content is getting worse though, ToSH was really fun, and I think it's nice we are getting 12-mans again. GCH seems like it would have been fun also, if I was playing during the time it first came out (was on break then). The sys_name issue with last update seemed like a big deal because it effected a lot, but it really was a minor issue technically (some missing resources) and was fixed pretty fast... so not a big deal IMO. There have been a few bugged quests, but that has always been the case, so not really worse now -- seems like they fix them faster now than they did in ch2.

Agreed. Forgot about that. We need a little more than 3 months to catch up as well. A lot of us haven't even caught up to all of Ch IV yet (like TOSH), and 2 new content updates are already released for Ch V.

I was mainly comparing the zone content, since I don't know enought about the instances to make criticisms of it. It just feels like there are a lot more broken things. Back when Ch IV was released, questing was mostly smooth. But in Ch V, I often get "this quest is broken" and "that quest is broken too" when I quest or read the forums about quest discussions. And Sys-name issue from 3 months ago is still not resolved i think, since Chysalis has the exact same issue.

Would be nice if they added 2 new modes to the old lv 55 instances, instead of just 1. Lv 70 normal mode for the 99% of the population, and lv 70 Hardmode for the 1%. Normal mode dropping the yellow X stats that can currently be found on the blue accessories would really help, since not all of our lowbies have the ability to make it to KBN entrance alive.

They broke the game by making the updates too far in between in the first place...

They gave the time from 62 to 67 and 67 to 70 a long time. Over 8 levels I remember it being a year from 62 to release to 70. About 6 months for each, with 3 instances.

Where as from 55 to 62, 7 levels, 4 instances, was only about 8 months. It was released though more broken up. They released DOD (57) in April, WA (58) in July, RT (60) in August, and KT (62) in December. That's 2 months per update.

The span that was during the 62 cap with the addition of the shot spam allowed people to accumulated mass amounts of gold (percentage wise compared to the rest of the economy). If it was 3 months before updates, then people who were endgame wouldn't have to farm for gold for so long and they could move on with their content. People who aren't ready can take the people who have's old gear, and so on and so forth. Instead we had people accumulate billions and billions of gold and then all of sudden new stuff came out and the market pooped.

True, but not an entire new set for each of those instances. Just a cape, 4 piece RT set + weapon, and stats. Most people were still wearing half their lvl55 gear after all of this.

Good point about the massive amounts of gold building up though. I'm not sure just making new content come out faster would fix that though.

No, not now. We will never be a diamond for 10k/ ruby for 4k economy on any server ever again because there are "dead" players who could come back at any time with billions on their accounts and many people who are still riding their cash out of that. It'd require too much of a cash sink that Froggy/GameForge/Runewaker reluctantly won't put in. Proved that with them pretty much saying no to Eve.
