Why?

My only real question is:

After so many years of being up and running there is only one constant with this game and that there will always be errors in every aspect of the game.

Every other day this game has a major issue:

Redeem Key page breaks
Recharge Diamond Page breaks
Memory Leak errors
Major Quest Line breaks
House equipment vanishes
Have yet to release an expansions without major errors( breaking the game).
etc etc etc
The list is way to long to continue.

So after so many years of being in business why is your game/business not running smoothly, with a minor errors on occasion.

I am not aware of another game similar to this that has been out for this long that does not run smooth and operate without constant errors. Yes I konw they all encounter issues at points but nothing like Runes of Magic to where the community already knows that upon release of a new expansion(chapter) that the game will be broken for a few weeks, with some errors never getting fixed.

Why is this game still operational?
Most games that have this poor of quality would have be shut down by now.

I do question myself to why I have kept spending and playing. I enjoy the no monthly fee but at this point after several years of using that reasoning it has grown dry.

So I ask the community as to why you still play and pay for this level of service and quality?

Well I have been playing for over 3.5 years now and even with all the issues that arrise I still find this game enjoyable. There are so many aspects within the game that keep me interested plus over the years i have made quite a number of friends worldwide. Fine we all wish that the issues would not crop up and they can be annoying, but all games have their issues. I guess its a combination of the game, the people and my own personality that keeps me here and will keep me here probably till they turn off the servers lol. I have seen tons of people leave for other game but also return to say that nothing they have tried has compared to the complexity, diversity and experience of Runes of Magic even with its problems. Also, no matter how good or bad the game, there is no way that any game or company will be able to please all players all the time, it just isnt possible, so you will always have people out there that will cry about this and that and the other, there is no pleasing them, but again they seem to stay playing, maybe just so they can keep crying, its just the way of some people. Overall, Runes of Magic is the best game i have played in my 30 years of computer/video game playing and no matter what people complain about I will continue to play. Rock on Runes of Magic :) !!!!!

Couldn't have said it better, wneter! Yes, some of the consistent issues are very annoying but, imo, the people in-game make it enjoyable. Personally, even with the "warts", I still very much like the game itself. Wasn't much of an mmo player before, only 2 others, really, but, again just my personal opinion, I far prefer RoM to either of them for gameplay, quests, members, and the beautiful artwork.

So what other games break thier game everytime they do an update or maintenance, really I am so addicted to this type of service I need more companies that operate just like this.

I agree with both sides, game is bugged not only in technical aspects, but also with false strategy in organization (mainly sales and support). Still worth playing, and would be EVEN better if those things get fixed and someone runs over a squirrel!

but in reality, he is right. Instead of whining your face of on the forums, hoping you will get support, just shut up and play a different game. People play this game because they enjoy it, even if there are bugs. Part of the fun is finding out what you can do to get around the bugs or after the bugs are fixed. So just shut up and stop complaining. There is enough drama in the world without people bringing it up where it doesn't need to be.

I don't. At the end of my time playing the game I was only still playing because I hadn't found anything better yet. At this point, I most definitely have found something. I'm just as curious as the OP to why people still bother.

Thanks Don,

I did not start this thread with intentions of it being a whiner thread.

I was stating issues with the game and those that make the decisions. There are plenty of threads with people upset over multiple issues.

Here are a few things I find as a high for this game:

The devs have listened and have tried to make changes to balance out classes, not all might have been the best, but none the less they have listened and tried. Maybe not all within the time frame we would have liked but they do listen and try.

We have active interaction with moderators (GMs). That actually will talk with us like we are real customers.

The variety of being my choice as to how much I pay to play....they have no requirements such as sub games. Yes I know to be able to do the latest content you are gonna have to pay at some point but that is the business they are in.

But the one thing that does keep me around is the fact that they do listen and try to make changes:

They made the elf classes viable.
They gave diamond sellers, returned diamonds to the AH.
They made different modes to instances...more less catering to the hard core players and nothing wrong with that.
They improved their customer service.( yea I am not happy with them atm but that does not mean it has not improved...and yea I am upset because I am not getting the resolve I want).
