Suggestions for guild buildings for Siege

So been thinking about building up a guild castle just for sieging in, using a castle that doesn't have the walls upgraded so everything needs to be inside / no extra building spots outside the walls.

How many processing factories do people suggest building? Any buildings that if the guild is just for sieging that are less than useful / could be taken up by a better building? Any strategies for building placement?

If it's JUST for siege you just need a forge/lumberyard, whatever that one is that gives Battle Time that I honestly can't remember, and the rest can be processing factories.

EDIT: oh, and a throne.

i would put Library, academy are a must have.
2 processors, one at the highest you can and the other keep at level 1,
Farm for buffs you can buy
Forge for buffs
Stable the highest you can. At level V you get 10% mount speed
Buff towers for the ones you think you need

others will add to this to help you ;-)

Buff towers are worthless. You'd be better off with another proc in that space than buff towers, unless they change them to be percentage based.

They still help lower players level 50 and below ;-) depends what is your guild points for siege. Lower level do benefit from the towers and make it fun for them. Unless you face a bunch of losers who are point droppers. Just like the guild we faced the other night, 33 players in siege and in the 1100 points and they were proud of it, trying to get us to tie them. One word LOSER!!!!

Oh, and put processing factories on the back of castle, since other spots are reachable by those who don't consider gates being up a reason not to attack buildings inside. Plus, more defensible overall if gates are actually down.

As to what to build, look at prerequisites. You can't just build things that you want, you have to build things that allow the things that you want to be built.

What is Battle Time?

nvm, found out. Which building gives it? It's not forge or lumberyard...

Farm.

Perhaps its time for an updated guide to siege based on these sort of questions. Hm.

Caveat: I do *not* know how many spots for large foundation pads there are in a basic (wooden wall) guild castle. From foggy memory, I'm going to guess 8 large pads, two on either side of the inner keep, and four in the front half of the courtyard in front of the keep.

Most info on buildings for the castle are here: http://www.theromwiki.com/Guild_Castles and http://www.theromwiki.com/Siege_Wars Seem to be relatively up-to-date. Drill Grounds are currently inactive for Siege.

In order to get the better buff buildings, you'll need to have at least a lvl 9 castle.

Buildings needed for siege:

Academy
Library
Stable
Processing Factory
Forge
Field
Lumber Yard
Farm
Throne (inside keep)

My recommendations:

Academy VI and Library V, both required for Stable VI (12% mount speed buff).

Forge VI, Field V (needed for Library V and Stable VI), and Lumber Yard VI, all 3 can fit on one large foundation.

3 Proc Factories, and they don't need to be taken any higher than lvl III--there's no improvement to the items available, their powers, or the number of Crystal Extractors (5) in each Factory.

Farm can stay at lvl I, you won't get any more than 10 Assault or Battle Time scrolls.

Throne is necessary for attack scrolls, but I do not know if there are specific requirements in order to purchase a Throne, other than having a lvl 5 guild and a castle.

If you use the above scheme, you will not have foundation pads for either an Arsenal or Attack/Defense buff towers.

The reason why siege guilds want the stone wall upgrade is for the four additional large foundation pads on the outside of the castle. They can stick buff towers or other buildings on those pads. IMO, that's the *only* reason to go for the wall upgrade, and it's also where the Drill Grounds, Academy, and/or Library can be placed so an additional Proc Factory can be put inside the castle.

YMMV, mine certainly does!

We made the sacrifice actually, only 1 proc instead of 3 to have tp and loot drop towers. :P

Helps with ks farming and we're not reni, so most of us are tp starved and have to tp farm, like me! Hehe.
