Suggestion for Advent redemption

Why not just add in something that evaluates the age of the account and only let accounts older than a few days redeem keys (or a day or two)?

How hard would it be to implement a check so that only accounts that have been activated (aka clicked the activation link) can redeem keys?

It would be easier to just drop the item in our backpack when we login.They can even base it on toon level to avoid exploiting.

Im still going with if you picked up more then five daily resets you get a 30 day ban. Pretty simple deterrent to me.

The Christmas spirit is awesome, but there will always be ppl that want more. I agree that Gameforge needs to do what Froggie used to. Any toon over lvl 10 got gifts in the bp the 1st time they logged in.

Remember when Froggie gave away a gotcha every day for like 2 weeks?

The Advent event has been a total failure no one I know has been able to get even a code yet. I really wish someone from gameforge would explain why they went to this event instead of just doing things the way they had in the past. Dropping a package in the inventory when your character logs in or sending an email with the codes. These worked in the past without fraud or abuse. Why create this mess?

I haven't heard anyone on our server saying they havent been able to get a code. Putting the code on the website drives traffic to their website. Sending the items in the mail, they would be sending out a lot more items than they would with the code being on the website, plus i'd rather have multiple of these items on one char, rather than 1 of these items on every mule I have.

^-- That right there is what's wrong. Yes, we would love to have more items on our main toon; but the event is to gift everyone w/ a single item. It's a giving kind of thing.. kinda like back in the day when we brought cookies for everyone in class. Everyone got a cookie, not just the 1 boy or girl w/ 4 followers who ends up getting 5.

The problem with multiple redemptions is separation of long and short codes. The long codes are tied to account - you can only redeem the long code at one per account. Short codes are not that limited.

Gameforge done their job - they wrote a system that enforces once per account redemption. Unfortunately, all it is is a front end to Runewaker system that is not doing such enforcement.

And I like the active steps to obtain redemption. Even if it is a giveaway, you have to do some things to get it. It is your responsibility to obtain the prize, not the prize giver.

I suppose you don't know very many people, then.

While I don't play on Reni, I've managed to get two Advent items, one each for two toons, on Osha every day that they've been available. It's never been anything that resembled an issue, other than for the relatively short time that the Redeem Key page was neutered--until the Powers That Are engineered and installed the fix for the exploiting issues.

As for those players who massively exploited the system as it was originally, I hope they enjoy their various vacations. IMO they should have been permanent, but that's just me. I can't stand cheaters of any kind.

I know tons of people who got and redeemed their code, and do it daily with success, including myself.

Copy the code from web pag click on box code goes in, hit control and V and it will paste. Those without add ons can't copy and paste in RoM without control V
