Dionaea we really appreciate you but these guys are a bunch of morons.

Domt you get it yet? Dio is part of this machine, she intentionally plays good cop while laughing everytime you praise her, she knows all the sales a month in advance, builds them up like thanksgiving. Then comes out apologizing. Her job is player retention, she is only playing devils advocate because that is her job. Trust me though she is as much in on it as the sales department.

They spent how long doing the survey and collecting results to do the following:

"Oh it looks like they REALLY want recon runes"
"Absolutely"
"So demand is high, ya?"
"well how about this price?"
"didn't we sell almost every other rune at a fraction of the price?" *gets slapped*
"THESE ARE SPECIAL TO US"

Screams nothing but greed and to say things like "introductory prices" so your sales team can "learn the real value" is all a load of bull. They know EXACTLY what they are doing and they are trying to get milk from stones and the players are tired of their tricks.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

I believe this "sale" just raised the market value of the current seriously overpriced recon vii's+ that sell for outrageous amounts on AH already

Here are all the prices:

1) Pet = 109 = 1 day perfume, enhancement pot, powerful pet growth pot, awakening pot, breeding slot ticket, favorite meal

2) Starter pack = 125 = 10x blessing jewels (3 kinds), 10x experience potion, 10x skill potion, basic XP charm, basic TP charm

3) Furniture pack = 155 = 2 story house with basement, brown wooden treasure chest, royal stone fireplace, quality fleece carpet, luxurious aristocrat bed, table with sheena dishes, magic cabinet of relevation

4) Veternan pack = 379 = 10 faith jewels (3 kinds), 10x powerful experience potion, 10x expert skill potion, 10x angel sigh, 10x phoenix redemption

5) Runepower = 495 = 5x Advance V, 5x Shield V

All are overpriced, IMO. Thread focused on the rune package, but neither one of the packages looks like good deal to me.

On the other subject... you know, it is possible to completely disagree without being completely disagreeable.

What a great sale!!

When i made my recon 8's long time ago i think i paid 69 diamonds per recon 7. i just wish i would have made recon 9's long ago.

I feel sorry for the newer players, its only gonna cost them about 25,000 diamonds to get what cost me 690 diamonds. Who said this game was expensive to play?? Its free to play dont you know??

Thanks vfwiffo. :)

I've really been looking forward to that house, although I'm sightly disappointed that the only way to get it is part of a package that I don't need. These "Package" sales really turn me off. :( At 39 diamonds, I would have bought one for every single character (and given 4 more to people in my guild as a gift that I know still limp along with the default house) - but not at that price.

Wish the Sales Team would get it in their heads that what they might lose in diamonds per item, they would more than make up for in quantity sold (at least in regards to items that do not have a direct affect on game balance).

Southern, vfwiffo disagree that lower price will attract greater demand, so greedy as it seem, it is only option for new player to get new house... imho not worth it. It is disappointing that bigger house (or in my case luxury one) come with the same 10 free slots for furniture. I would get more furniture, my alts would get their processing/crafting furniture only if they provide more space from default 10.

At first I started buying energy for some of them, now that Mr. Cedric has cut his business, I did the same with alts, adjusting to small space, without spending any real money on renting the space.

And yes, package sucks.

@bratty - what is recon 7 selling for on your server?

I agree, it is part of her job and I can't believe that they let her in dark on decisions or don't ask for opinion, especially on specific sales like this.

I don't believe EU ever saw recon at price we had it in USA, thus this ridiculous price. Again, those guys would know that you need more then 1 if you are R and if you are S, then 3 - but that would mean that they have to play game, which is obvious - they DONT.

Taking a step back from the giant middle finger that was just presented to the community's face, and trying to think about this logically:

10 total runes. 495 for all 10. 49.5 diamonds per rune.

So lvl 5 runes, at basically 50 diamonds each is supposed to be 40% off?

Now Im just a simple hyperchicken from a backwoods asteroid, but it looks like what they're claiming would be "full price" for one lvl 5 rune would be roughly 69.3 diamonds.

69 diamonds... that sure sounds like a familiar number in this thread.

So in the past for a recon 7 cost 69 diamonds. Now they're charging the same price for 1/25th of the components. This does not also include the cost of the transmuter charges required to make these pieces of trash any use.

This sale is roughly TWENTY FIVE TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE than its previous sale value. And you all have the audacity to claim this is 40% off.

Cant say I am surprised, but even 25X a ripoff is a big step for you guys. I guess to some the holidays are a time to be greedy Scrooges. And just like scrooges, im sure this feedback will be balled up and thrown into the furnace to keep from having to burn any coal.

I don't think it matters to Zid. Even if she was the head of the sales team, he'd compliemnt her.

And can we get new sales team for christmas please? One that knows a $26 package and $79 rune is way too much?

You forgot that you need 2 of them, so it is not 25, but 50 times more expensive then it was. (speaking of recon rune)

Agree with both of you, all of the packages are sucky, including the furniture one.

And, yes, bigger house with same number of slots is pretty stupid. The original house, while it is cramped if you put a lot of stuff there, can satisfy functional needs of most players. So why get better plan, if all it does is looks better, not acts better?

That has nothing to do with sales, though. The game does not work that way, they can't put feature on sale that does not exist. What they can do is re-evaluate the value of item that activates the feature. If it does not give you anything of much use, it should not cost much.

To put things in perspective, all of you read the explanation on the adjustment on pricing of random attribute extractors on EU forum, right? Dio linked to it couple times, and I am too lazy to dig it up. No reason why same process can't work on Shield runes, assuming it is actually what happened and not just a convenient explanation.

Hope dio is reading that game is drying from new players, and with sale like this, I am sure they will not get many.... overpriced and more expensive then any other game that is not 'free 2 play'. How ironic...

Dio and GF are doing everything possible to turn people away from the game by making it too expensive.

of course, they needed to get recon runes into the new european server that they just opened up.

Well, I do enjoy the aesthetic properties of an RPG. When I'm ingame I'm immersed, even speaking in character most of the time. The first time I used OOC in guild chat, I had 3 people whisper me and ask me what the heck OOC meant. :p So I don't see a house just from a "functional" standpoint, but also from an RP one - a place for friends to meet, knock back a few tankards of ale, hammer out some armor in the workshop, and perhaps even share with a wife one day.. :)

I know, I'm weird. :)

I really don't mind the # of slots being the same, although I do think that aesthetic items shouldn't take daily energy but instead just lose their XP/TP bonuses.

Still, I'll get one and customize it, and just turn it into a Brady Bunch home.

I'm just saying that I *would* have bought about 10-12 of them for different characters and as gifts, but not as part of a 150 diamond package. I'm somewhat generous, but I ain't rich. :)

Hmm, what is OOC?

In RoM USA you call it Lemonater's way of life... CIRL (character in real life :D) not some out of... :P

Interesting that no one with colored text posted here yet...

Would it be too much to hope someone smart enough to change pricing sheet?
