Gold inflation. The more gold there is available on the server, the less worth 1 gold has. The US servers had an influx of gold buyers/sellers/botters. This is why, if you log on to Thalia, a newer server, if you have 5mil - you're rich. Log on to any server other than Palenque, and 5mil isn't that much at all. Simple economics, dia and gear pricing are NOT correlated to the extent you are attempting to make it seem.

Dias in the AH were around 50k in November, they went down to about 35-45k in early December. Yet, the prices that we put up for gear remained the same.

I really don't. As long as I run end game, I will *always* be able to afford diamonds. But unfortunately for you, its not necessarily the same case. I have a problem of people who do not spend RL money, buying up the dias in AH, and relisting them for 2-3 times the price. Like I said before, I love dia sellers, and I will cut them deals (and I have a few personal sellers that cut me great deals, all the time, which is also why I don't mind renegade overpricing). You worked for it, put it up for whatever you want. If I don't like it - I won't buy. I'm already end game, I can not log on until the next content comes out, and be geared to run it. No dias needed.

Hell, I could log off for 2 content releases, and the only thing I'll have to do is level. Not so much for you Dkjester, sorry.

First of all, its Ravesden. I'm not a bird.

Second, it is substantially easier to get mid-game geared and entry end game with this content. I geared up when diamond prices were 60-70k per, a puppet staff on AH for 800mil, chest drops were 200-400mil, t9s were 30-40mil. I look at the situation today and I believe it is MUCH easier to gear up. It isn't all about gear, however. Some people forget that.

And btw I dropped around $200-$300 to gear up a couple years ago and haven't spent a dime since. Lrn2Invest.

Unless you're referring to those OD boots that someone else has on our server, yet has never dropped for us. Which is weird since we're the only guild that has gone passed boss 3 on Reni.

That means there is no way to believe that people would think the opposite? That the more gear is the more they will sell their diamonds for?

Imo, gear prices are a minor factor in diamond prices. Price of stats have been sliding downwards for the past 4 months, as have prices of gear. You can get decently OD +16 T6 statted pieces for 25-35m, with their equivlent glorious/Hero statted counterparts costing 60m+ before, and decent Dragon shell stats are going for 8-10m whereas their equivlent counterparts would have costed 15-20m before.
(And I use equivlent counterparts, since, obviously, identical gear would cost less now then before).

While all this is happening, diamond prices have stayed at 45k per. And a month ago, they were sliding up towards 55k per as we got no double diamond sales and next to no diamond sellers. Then one 150% diamond sale, and a week later you could get diamonds easily for 30k per, and of course gear prices never changed. They're now at 41k per as people run out of diamonds again, and gear prices still hasn't changed.

While not saying that they do not influence each other at all, but from what I've observed, the biggest price shifts happen because of supply and demand. In the same way, Worldboss gear prices came down because too many people were selling it (harm 3 event), not because diamonds got cheaper. If one price increase, the other price will increase.

If either gear or diamond price increases, the other will follow (using the increase from the other as an excuse). But of one of them decrease in price, the other will not be effected at all. if diamonds suddenly became 10k per, most of the people will still try to charge the exact same for gear.

I think more like ppl who have invested in their characters will stick around coz we understand & know how wacky the game economy is whereas new ppl will run for the hills thinking this game is too expensive to play...

Does DIAS price even mater if you can't buy anything you need?

This weekend we are getting the same T7 and T8 runes sale, but some of the runes you might need to be able to have variety for your class are missing, like Sorcery. (haven't seen this one since Frogster America time).

How many times we pointed things like this out and nothing has been ever done.

It might be interesting if runes cost more then 12 dias.

I see Sorcery usually replaced by Madness nowadays on mage equipment. Or are you in dire need of some wisdom points?

And this is where the people that want to buy diamonds thinking is so flawed. You think you get 6k diamonds for 100 bucks.

No you do not only once and a blue moon does this happne anymore. There was 1 double diamond sale in the last two months.

Which is probably a good indication of why diamond prices did rise to 50~60k per. Then Introduce Cedric and diamond prices started to drop a little to 30~50k. Exit Cedric and now the prices are rising again, well it looks mainly because there are players that are manipulating the AH to get Diamond prices to rise.

And if you actually read anything you would have seen in the post about the 100million gold staff equating to 80 USD. On Reni anyways and you know this is a copycat game so if Diamond Sellers see someone else selling and getting 70k per diamond, well you should be able to figure what is on the way.


You know with this whole statement about letting us control our own economy is such BS. If they really wanted us to do that then they would need to place ABL's in the IS as a permanent item again. When this went on we did have a hopping economy.

The population of the game has dwindled a great bit over the last two years.
So with less community there is less competition to keep things balanced out.
