oh yeah, I joinned RoM's comunity a year ago, and for sure things I don't want to see like last year is maps full of useless frogs for daily events increasing lag. You could also bring back some 20 dias mount or some perm thing from something that u rent, like backpack / bank space (perhaps a button to sort IS BP)

Forwarded that wish but we can't grant everything at once ;) ("Could we get a 70% off promo with ABLs, puris, permanent backpacks, tier X runes, instruments, wings, mounts, jewels with a 200% diamond promo pretty please?" "Let me think about that.... nope!")

See, that is exactly kind of attitude that got us in this unhealthy relationship with F-EU and now GF.

Silly, we did not have perma backpacks @ 70% - we had them as GIFTS for purchasing something else on sale.

See, at that time I would find the sale and get DIAS because it was 'good' sale. Since then I never had that feeling again - I have to get some dias to get this for myself...

That is missing thing and it is costing both, you of proffit and us - not that many players left to play...

Ok, what about of some sort of lottery or jackpot?

Something that could be given when you buy diamonds and you have like a spin roll and you can win some items from item shop (probably random items, or depending on how many diamonds you purchase you can get better/lower quality items).

Not sure if this idea was said before. If did, sorry. I'll keep brainstorming.

While its probably too late to suggest goodies on the shop, perhaps it can be suggested to the sales people to include stuff on the phirius coin shop for the anniversary sale too. We havent had many sales on the coin shop in the past few months.

Someone mentioned Cedric in another thread & I think it would be nice for Cedric to make a return for the week or 2 of RoM's 4th birthday.

^-- right there could bring back a lot of goodwill...

why wouldnt you want to do such a sale? are you worried people would spend too much money on dias and spend them all at once on the things they need/want? or could it be your digital stock of items might run out? i understand the no to perm backpacks as that removes the need for the rental funtcions, but everything else gets used and its 1 less than a player had before, last i checked offering people what they want/need is a great way to make money. what good is a store if it doesnt have the items you need at the time you need them? and the dia sale would give players a reason to purchase dias when they didnt intend to do so

Because then the demand for those items would go down in the future and people wouldn't buy it when they weren't 70% off. To put it in a real world context, what you are essentially saying is: "why doesn't walmart just offer every item they have in their store for 90% off. They would make way more money if Xbox's were only $10 and all games were $1." No, they wouldn't. Why should they lower prices if there are people who are willing to buy at full price and they can make more money that way? Let's say the price of puris was lowered to 1 dia ea. People would buy hundreds and then not need puris for a very long time. Why would Gameforge do this if people are going to buy puris at 19 dias anyways? And if they were to do such a sale where puri's were only 1 dia, no one would ever buy the regular 19 dia puris again, because they would just stock up when they were only 1 dia and wait for the next sale.

Light weight, easy to give, no cost to Gameforge - Birthday lucky frogs please! Last year no frog, so new alts cried. Dwarves don't even know what that little green or red frog is - but my warlock would certainly like one. Not sure why that little birthday gift was discontinued last year. My first created character has two of them, one from the first birthday celebration and one from the second. The other alts just look on in envy.

Keeping expectations low though - by far last year's celebration was the absolute worst.

Unlike most physical retailers, they do not have to pay to restock said items that are on sale.

People stock up on supplies for storms and other events. Do they -never- need those items again? Yes people who get permanent backpacks will never need to spend diamonds on rental functions for those spots, but in all likelihood they accumulated far more diamonds from the population trying to get them than what they would get from people who actually would rent the space. Don't kid anyone on that.

Why would they put things on sale? If the CM/GM/FMs are relaying information properly then they might consider it a good idea to appease people who are saying "I want to spend money, but this is too expensive. Help us spend money"
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Lol, If Last years Anniversary was Fail, and that was without Gameforge running it, Now that Gameforge is running it with a Sales Team that dont know what to put on for the Community, I'm guessing we'll get Marking Ink and Ancient Keys, 50% XP and TP and 50% Dia Sale knowing Gameforge.

Yeah, that's all fine and good. You should have sales, but I was responding to someone who wondered why they didn't put every item on sale for 70% off the original price. You should lower your price to the point where enough people are willing to buy the item but not so low that you wouldn't be able to make as much of a profit off of it if you were to raise the price. I was just simply saying that that is why they would not lower item prices by 70%. If I were running a company and someone came to me and said "I want to spend money, but this is too expensive. I want you to lower the price by 70%" I would tell them to take a hike.

this is the reason that players leave and do not come back.the least you could have done is leave that statement out of your post.this is not good customer relations at all and attitudes like this will cause more peiople to leave permanantly.i am disappointed in you Laghmara for someone in your position this does not look good, and almost a breach of forum rules .......no trolling. keep in mind that we all are guilty of the troll ,but if you were trolling please tell the community.
some one over there needs to look at dias sales records .when dias sales were at a premium look to see what items were offered on sale and also what items were permantly in the item shop.

on topic i really hope that gameforge has put some thought into sales and events for the anniversary.yes i said events........like you know cms or gms or whatever you go by these days coming into each and every server for 30 mins to speak with and have some fun with the active players.you dont have to give out goodies just come out and meet the us players.if not maybe forward this suggestion 1 cm for every server,it could be a volunteer thing.this game is great but as of now with no gm/cm interactions its just not a good thing.

i dare you to come to the us servers for a visit i think you all are afraid of the players...........(that was my troll)

You seem to forget the bad ass title you get when you killed hundreds of em :D
Nah but seriously, a great sale make people spend dias when they arent normally. For example, i do no tspend dias unless it is double dias orrrr if there is a good sale. Did npt buy dias in a while since the sales were always meh, and no rubies.
Perfect plussers at a low price would be awesome ! Not as low as 70% but maybe a 50% would be aweosme :) Hate the randomness of plussers...

With great discount frogster america made large profit, where frogster eu did not do much... Yep, made sence to close more profitable department and give FEU over more prosper usa servers... Only thing they did not know that profit was solely based on good sales....

Note -iirc, profit numbers were public at the time....

Oh My God Timthum. You're taking the quote out of context. The guy (or girl?) wasn't saying that there would be no sales, just that they're not going to offer a ton of items on sale for an outrageous discount of 70%. That is a perfectly fine statement and I see no trolling whatsoever in it.

Yes, we all know that GF makes more when there are good sales on items that everyone wants, but that doesn't mean you offer everything at 99% off! There needs to be a certain level of balance between the regular price and a sale price. You can't have an item be 100 dias during non sale days, and then all of a sudden have the price go down to 10 dias during a sale. I'm sure you can understand why.
