What could they do to fix the Priest/Scout!!!!!!!

I have been thinking about this a lot the last few days and I honestly think I have come up an everyone wins solution:

make IB like certain heals against players. Meaning consecutive hits on same target lose damage potential linerally with the number of times cast on player


1st 100%
2nd 75%
3rd 50%
4th 25%
5 plus 10%

reset on new target, make the p/s still able to 1 shot lesser players, but also makes them have to target multiple people to stay at full damage.

Thoughts?

Either a 1 sec cd, or a focus cost would be more in line with what should be happening than a 3 sec cd. If a 1 sec cast time were put in, that can be mitigated down to instant for a short time, and would also make more sense for SW but would really suck for leveling purposes.

IMO, my version would have been a better choice. Two reasons behind that would be that their pve status remains unharmed. The other reason is that it's still spammable, but deals 35% less damage. (120k ice blades become 78k ice blades / 80k ice blades become 58k.) This would make it so you would just have to ice blade a time or two more to kill your target, but also gives your target a "little" more time to react. This way everyone's happy. P/S's damage is a little more reasonable, and they're not broken as they are now when it comes to attacking.

These are still just my opinions. I know some will agree, while some disagree. I just wish they would have done something similar to my suggestion if they were going to nerf it. They went too far with their idea imo.

Since IB is supposed to be water element focused to act like a sword, I'd say make it a focus cost skill. Say 30% focus per cast.

Later on make another elite where IB costs 20% mana if there's no focus left.

Basically, this would be similar to GH's cost where the initial cast is "free" of penalties, but after successive casts, there's a debuff that increases the mana cost.

If they made it focus cost it would be much like m/r. I can only spam about 4 Cursed Fangs until im out of energy.
Though energy does regen faster than focus..so would be a bit worse still, but that could make it an even more viable option rather than the current 3 sec cd....

I saw a survey on twitter from @RoM_US asking about our favorite skill. Seems some answered iceblade so this is the one picked to be nerfed.

Never seen how anyone could put out a survey like this. It is not so much a survey as a lynch mob. Only options are how to wreck the skill. Not a single option on how to make it more effective or an option to leave it alone. Any legitimate survey would not predispose the answer is to nerf the skill as this one does and then only offer options on how to destroy it.

Running a survey like this one is like walking down the street and having someone offer you the options of immediately be shot or stabbed but not one to be left alone. Then publishing the survey by saying everyone wants to be stabbed or shot.
My characters do not have that skill, so I don't use it.
I have seen many characters use it and even more figure out how to beat it. But it is far easier to complain and destroy what someone else has than to work hard and learn to use what you have.

Many people Do agree as well with some p/s (not that the nerf given was fair) that ice blade deserved some type of nerf (not necessarily a cooldown)
Zid realizes that they aren't going to magically reverse all of it and bring back the spammable version of the skill so he is just being realistic

He is basically proposing different options. Ones that might stab, poison, or hurt the iceblade rather than the kill shot it has been given. Do you think the one offering these options would be willing to leave you alone because you said please? Even after other people in your society are telling him to do it?


The point of this survey is to find and propose a way to change the existing nerf to Iceblade that will be fair. Many of you p/s do not see why it was nerfed, I get why it shouldn't of been nerfed being your only pve/pvp skill to use (most of the time), but if mages were given something similar people would STILL be complaining about the skill rather than the entire class.

The only thing that needed to be done was cut the range down to 150. As always, nerf went overboard, and P/S will go the way of the Dodo.

I like Cloaked's idea best. Imo, focus costs would still make IB less viable in PvE. In PvP, sure, IB will be less spammable, but honestly, it won't be a large difference, since you die every 5 seconds and get all your focus back, and you'll still have people making QQ threads about Iceblade.

The only issue I can see is RW going overboard with it, again, and nerfing the damage so much IB becomes Bone Chill II
