Another game i played tried to mitigate dmg/healing in PVP warfronts... it failed miserably. Healers were too OP, then they adjusted it, Healers were way UnderPowered and no one played them. Without heals WFs becaome less and less populated.

I dont think it bodes well if RW attempts something that was failed at by a better programming team :\

It would at least be better for them to try than to not. Worst case, they revert the changes if healers become useless. Best case, siege fights now last longer than 2-5 seconds. Of course they'd have to balance scrolls/siege weapons or add scrolls that heal gates, but all in all it would be a worthwhile amount of work. A lot of high levels participate in siege. It's one of the most fun parts of the game. Why people would want it to remain broken just doesn't make sense to me.

Siege doesn't work right how it is right now. There isn't much strategy to the fights themselves, just how you move around the map and how you approach towers/gates. I find PvP much more fun when it lasts more than a few seconds and when there's actual strategy involved.

If the damage reduction were to be implemented, yes, tanks would be hard to kill by rogues, but that's what casters are for. As has been noted over and over, no one stacks mdef. The only people with noticeable mdef - aside from cooldowns that reduce magical damage - are healers. People would have to actually play up their class' strengths in order to kill people, instead of popping out of hide and oneshotting. Then you won't have people crying to nerf a class in PvE just because they get oneshot in PvP.

If 90% turns out to be too much, they can always decrease that as needed. Fix siege instead of nerfing another class and breaking it for PvE.

Personally, I like siege the way it is, because if benefits midgamers a lot. OP endgamers can hit me for 200k or 300k, and in the end, it wouldn't make a difference from someone that hits me for 90k, because I get one shot either way. So at that certain point, being more geared gves you hugely diminishing returns against midgamers. But SW damage allows me to 2-4 shot others as well, so I can actually stand a chance against people with double the gear, if I manage my stuns/immunes/silences corrctly.

If they nerf SW damage by 90%, the difference between gear will be noticeable, because it will make a difference if you hit me for 100k (becomes 10k), or if you hit me for 300k (30k). With my 40k-50k (becomes 4k-5k) hits, you can 2 shot me with Lowblow, but it'll take me 20 hits to kill you.

thats not how it will work. IIRC siege damage is already decreased by 50%, so in order to find what you'll actually hit for you need to double everything then take 90%. For example that person hitting for 300k, double to 600k, take 90% he'll hit you for 60k not 30k

I've already tried P/M in Siege. It is no better IMO than the currently-euthanized P/S. True, there are more skllls than can be used, but every one of the Mage general active skills, along with the P/M elites (IWB, insta-cast RT) have cooldowns that vary far too much for my comfort.

I have a different view of how Lightning is used in Siege. Use it to root your target, then either back away or *run* away and get back to the warm fuzziness of any companions in the area. The damage is generally nice, but it's no more than a pinprick against a toon with 120K or more health.

Shot, VA, or other Scout general skills have little use in PvP combat for a P/S . P/S players rarely, if *ever*, stack any sort of PAttk stats, if they have a clue for what's been good for them in the past. Any PAttk or PDam comes from their weapon or gear, not from the stats added to it/them. And most P/S bows are stat sticks, not DPS weapons.

Aside from the occasional "miss", Shot and VA are good enough to take out balloons or stick a bleed (VA) onto a player. That's about it for their "utility" in Siege.

I wouldn't spend diamonds on a reset stone to build your P/m up, way too many nerf hammers swinging. looks like P/s was only the beginning. Soon all classes will be throwing nerf balls in siege and it will take a full party of tosh geared 77's to clear FA.


I don't need to spend diamonds on reset stones. I already had two of them. One from the lvl 35 gift bag from back in Ystra Highlands and one from the TP reset that was done when RW reversed the godawful GCD screwup.

I used one on the Rogue side prior to dropping it to take Mage. The Rogue TP should still be available should I decide to revert at a later date. Tthe other one is still available.

True, there was always a chance the nerf "COULD" or "WOULD" happen, but there was nothing said from GF/RW that is was "GOING" to happen, only information on it "AFTER" it happened. That's my point.

I just hate how information is passed onto players only AFTER something changes or is already in effect. I realize some things like diamond sales or IS specials shouldn't be communicated in advance. But anyway, it's not worth typing any more for.

It's clear to me that the powers that be at GF are letting RW to whatever the hell they want to the game and as usual we are the guinea pigs to their will. The CM's here on the forum may give a crap since most of them play to, but no-one above them gives two-craps about any of us players. It's always going to be this way so long as the game is running. But they'll probably shut it down w/o any advance warning someday and ppl in the forums will just say "Well it always could have happened!"

Just look at what GF did to the folks in Aus with moving their server to the US and destroying their ping times. My point exactly again. but that's also off-topic so w/e....

So I'll hit them for 8k, and they'll lowblow me for 60k... still no thanks lol. I'll take the current siege damage over that reduction. It boosts epeen anyway.

Ungeared players shouldn't be able to oneshot geared players >.>. How is that balanced? For epeen's sake or not, current damage in siege doesn't make sense. And siege shouldn't cater to the ungeared. I'm not well geared myself, but I don't expect to hold up against people who are geared.

Ok, so maybe not double the gear, and rarely 2 shot (mostly takes 3-5 hits), so its not an unfair system 9since they easily oneshot me). Its not my fault that I gain an advantage by using stuns/silences/immunes against my opponent, who doesn't bother to counterimmune or use his own silences/stuns.

Also, by midgamer, I do refer to the majority of the players - your 60k-75k (unbuffed) people.

and btw that hit was done with 500k int.

point is no p/s on any us server has ever hit an ice blade for 500k even on maxim erekat.
but yet other classes hit that boss for way more.
like i said make the range of ib 100 and no p/s will complain.3 second cd is just wrong way to deal with it.

Yep, just like tonight in SW when I had a R/S in hide, jump me, hide, kill me, then hide again all in the matter of a few seconds. But of course P/S was OP. *Also rolls eyes*

But but but R/S is supposed to use hide! Yeah, and P/S is supposed to use IB why else would the skill be there?
