What is the point of a gate? I might as well replace it with Cotton Candy and Sunshine!

If you wish to start a thread discussing warden pets and their use in siege, feel free to do so. But that discussion is off topic in this thread, okay?

In general, I'd say that this is an exploit. It's dishonest, unfair, and requires specific actions to re-create.

Apparently it's pretty easy to recreate, because we have ours taken out at least 2-3 times a week. Usually all I see is a couple of electric towers out by the gate, and the rebuild point is gone shortly thereafter.

Green text

... is good like blue. Some of them have more experience in special things and we ask them to hear their opinions. I never played a warden in example, don't ask me anything about this class. If there is a mentor available I can ask him, else I have lot of threads with player feedback and it is not necessary to have an own - because your feedback is important.

Such exploit or not exploit things are easy and difficult.

Oh Jesus Christ. What a crock. Just say it. It this particular thing an exploit, yes or no? How hard is it to answer that question? You took the time to write out two paragraphs of avoidance, when all you had to do was post yes or no.

Yes
No

Zavod is not blue text. Say yes or no, quit going around the question.

Technically Zavod is no more authority than one of us are. He's not a paid employee of GF, he's just a player with a different color of text.

Yes, or no?

Yes, he is green and a very helpful mentor. He have our trust and you can trust him. And I like his short explanation of such difficult problem.
Let me repeat, even if it is blue in a quote it is a good answer.

The rebuild points are not meant to be destroyed (they'd be targetable if they were, as pointed out by others earlier in the thread). Under this logic, anything that DOES destroy them would be a bug, and anything done to deliberately take advantage of or create this situation would be a bug exploit, forbidden under the Terms of Service.

That being said, if you witness or record this situation occurring, go ahead and file a support ticket on it. Support can address these issues, while we on the forum cannot.

Nenysvor, are we to be taking a player/volunteer's word on official gameforge rules/policy to be at equal weight to the word of gameforge employees?

You're setting a massive precedent here if that is indeed the case.

If he tells something wrong, I will do the same with him, like my boss with me. And like you see in his and my answer, final answers for questions regarding the terms of use will be given by Customer Support. We can give you a opinion like we did and we can show you the way to contact Customer Support. Well experienced players can do the same, but a color and a title help to moderate, regardless it is blue or green.
If you won't accept a green answer, it means we don't need a Mentor. But it would be very quiet here and much questions will not be answered. I would say we keep and trust them.

Being in this forum feels like were playing someones sick game, we ask for one answer and we end up with 3 different people chiming in and all we get is an opinion as a final answer. So the next time someone does that to our gates and I'm lying dead watching the people run through and I cant do anything about it, I'll yell out... THE MENTORS THINK ITS WRONG SO STOP DOING IT!

No one is saying they do not trust, value, or like the green text. In fact, I think I stated that its my opinion that the general consensus on green text is quite the opposite a few hours ago :)

Where I think the confusion is coming in here is that those who write in green text are not the direct "Policy Makers."

When matters of Policy come up, the judgement of those not directly making said policy cannot be weighted the same as those who are responsible for making policy themselves unless otherwise given that ability by the original policy maker.

It takes a second to digest, but see the confusion?

tl;dr:
Zavod said it's an exploit. Nenysvor agrees with Zavod's answer. Nenysvor is blue and works for GF.
Destroying gate buildpoints in siege is an exploit. Exploits aren't allowed.

(Also, green's word is as good as blue's word unless stated otherwise by a blue now?)

Green Text, Blue Text, I don't care if it's freaking purple text, Why don't you just fix it and shut up?

And Exploit or not, The Electric tower thing, It cannot be helped in some ways. Since I have been seiging we have always put Flames and Electric and FoTs and Eyes by the gate we kill just so the other team cannot get to the rebuild as easy, If it takes down the respawn point now then we should change our whole strat b/c RoM Seige is beta still. No thanks.

Just my opinion.

.

Exploit it is.

Nenysvor, Zavod's reply as a Mentor was challenged because we were told by Frogster on multiple occasions that those with green text do not speak with authority on Frogster policy. So we were running with that. I don't believe any disrespect was intended.

Thanks for the clarifications.

So there is another layer to any discussion that simply never gets enough attention. Green, blue, purple, yellow, red I don't care what color text is on the page not one of them can actually do anything about any of it. Even game forge support can only do so much as a license holder of the product. Actual physical changes to the game come through people none of us can even think of getting close to.

If you did get too close to them you'd probably end up with some kind of disease, so that's not that bad of a thing, now is it? ;)

Yay Greenies! And who really didn't think intentionally breaking someone's gate spawn point was an exploit?? "Yes, Virginia, obvious exploit is an exploit." I'm glad the mentor's get to have more of a voice, but this whole thread was idiotic anyway. Why don't we start one about whether or not running into someone's castle with the gates up and capping the crystal is an exploit ffs? What else did anyone think they would say? But, that's kinda what this was all about anyway, wasn't it? Getting them to commit to something. Which I get, but... it's a hard enough gig, surely, without asking them to do the impossible.

No one is coming up with a comprehensive list of "do this, don't do that" (oooh you mean we can do THAT???) anytime soon. It would be stupid for them to do so.

All we really learned in this thread is that a) Laghmara is a badass and b) mentors get to talk now. Both positive things, I guess, so it wasn't a total loss.

Why don't we ask them something less obvious, like, iunno, when will siege get out of beta?

Wait, nope- that one's too easy too :(
