Wait!?!?

I just got an email and it was about how Aion was going free to play. I was going to delete it quickly till it was an email that said it was from Gameforge. I opened it and it seems Gameforge and NcSoft are working on developing it now. I thought there was another company handling that game...

Or did i miss something?

It looked to me that they were mainly promoting the 3.9 update and the Free to Play features.

Yea Aion is handled by different companies in different regions. So this wasn't even an email really meant for anyone in the US because we'd be playing on EU servers.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Yeah i was just shocked that

1) GF was advertising to me, a RoM player, another MMO
2) I thought GF's first MMO was RoM, and i didnt think when Aion was released that it was a Froster/GF game.

I am usually on top of other games and when they change hands and when companies i know pick up new games, or release them. Just shocked i missed the announcement.

Gameforge's Aion is really horribly handled. Want a good example of the worst way a company can manage a game, go try it.

Anyway, that's the EU version. NC-West (NCSoft NA) still manages the US version.

I do agree it's really odd that they're advertising one of their other games, but meh.

Don't get me wrong we all obviously like RoM or we wouldn't be here but I'm defiantly not gonna seek out another game ran by the same company thats for sure.

The game itself is great (what's not broken.... wait, I'll rephrase, what does work). The cash shop is way overpriced, plussing jewels are daylight robbery along with no rubies for the +6ing that's required or the abhorrent pricing on the "special" perfects. When it stops costing me $50 for each piece of equipment to upgrade then I may return, till then I'm forever in tosh bla bla gear and will only tank when my guild needs me, other than that I never log in xD
There are better ways to earn money from the game and gambling sure as hell shouldn't be one of them.

Until there's more full collision scripted open world MMO's I might as well stay here. I like Mortals design but gameplay is kinda lame, I did like old school darkfall idk about the new one still trying.
TERA & Dragonnest is definitely a step in the right direction but still a lot of targeting and you like can't even miss with melee, might was well be full target.

Elderscrolls is one I'm keeping an eye on but I think we got another couple years until something good comes along.

Heh well looks like they're letting it slide in this thread, or they haven't read it yet lol

I'm currently in Lord of the Rings Online and found another rom player there lol, haven't tripped over em recently but hope they're doing well. I ended up making another tank >.< So much for my wannabe dps wishes... again hah. I do <3 the tank tho, I chose Warden, a hot leeching, dot-ing, threat leeching unbreakable machine xD

Yeah i was kinda 50/50 on posting it... but i mean GF sent me the email, so that i would guess makes it a grey area. It is their game. Plus they may decide to change RoM users from being on a mailing list for a game like that. If NA is run by NCsoft, and EU by GF... they certain dont want me giving my money to NCSoft, cause i wont play on an EU server... ever.

Kinda like a heads up for them :P

I really wanted to know if GF had taken over NA distribution of Aion, cause i was sure it wasnt them like 6 months ago. That got answered though, and explained to me why i never saw their name on that game, cause i wasnt doing the EU version.
