Well speaking for myself i would do that type of help ingame, help others, help them figuring out quests, giving items and gold away, oops i already do that and don't get paid, lol. I might not be liked by all on Reni but i respect all my fellow Renians, but damn except for about 5 people i cannot stand, and 3 i would permaban their arses for cheating, lying, backstabbing, exploiting, hacking etc.

We have more botters than ever, using their little: i program Dyice to do it but i am actually type of answer, when we all know and people in their guild mentionned that they do it as a Bot and nothing else. I play my 5 accounts and all my alts to help the guild and others and never ask anything in return, just for them to have fun, enjoy the game and treat others the same way.

You always have those players that are arses or unhappy in their real life and come in game to take it out on others and bully them, they just have no friends and no respect for themselves.

In the last year i have met quite a few endgamers that were surprisingly very awesome and nice. I've been here for almost 4 years now and i have seen all types of people, those i can'T stand i stay away and don't run stuff with. No drama and no QQ.

I like to troll and have fun, since this is a game to have FUN!!!!!! But a lot seems to forget it and take it way too seriously.

Well Kalvan i really truly liked your post ;-) you have made my day!!!!! Now give me the job and let's deal with all the shenanigans ;-)

Hard to see why. We, the players, make the job so much fun and so rewarding.

Maybe if things were dealt with in a timely manner they wouldn't have a pile of **** waiting each time they rotate a person in.

Side note zidlef, we've had GMs the whole time. It's just that they were all moved to support so they can pass the buck onto runewaker.

Though CMs... seems the only way to even get their attention is to send a message directly to them.

Look at how much positive feedback metatag got about the information for the downtime. Communication is a good thing to have. Quit neglecting it.

If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

The problem is, what are CM's supposed to say? I agree communication is a good thing - but whenever a CM posts "your feedback has been forwarded", there are about as many people quoting that post and complaining as there are people that complain when they stay silent.

Added to that fact that some CM's have never played this game at all, they probably cannot tell the diffrence between someone trolling and actual feedback, or they might not even know what we're talking about.

When I first started RoM, I had no clue what half the discussions were talking about. But as a new player, I had the benefit that people would be willing to anwer my questions if I asked. If a CM asked "hey, what is this siege wars thing that you guys speak of?" I don't the replies will be anywhere near as friendly as the replies I got that allowed me to know more about this game.

Another game i played ran into this same problem and i bet many of games are faced with some of the same issues.

In the game I am referring to, botters (we called it macroing, not botting) were becoming overly popular due to the fact the grind to hit max level was.... Well lets put it this way: If you could run your character in the best hunting dung for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a full group it took 30-45 days to get to max level. Quests did next to nothing for leveling, it had to be grinded. So you can imagine how popular botting/macroing became. It at first was legal, then made illegal, and then they said "it is only not legal if you are at the keyboard ready to respond". They tried policing it for a year or so but the programs became better and better. Auto-replies, GM detect, Log off, force crash and send crash reports, etc. Eventually the game quit policing it entirely, and even though they never reversed their stance on it.... It in essence became legit to bot/macro afk.

I see us going close to that. As more people try to push the boundries of botting, and the decline of # of GMs, they get less and less time per server (just like the game mentioned above). Botters are getting smarter and smarter and looking for ways to get around getting banned. GF/RW needs to put more man hours in or else it will become just like that other game: "Not officially legit to bot, but not enforced either" and everyone will be doing it. Put more people on policing it, or just make it allowed.

I personally could care less about people botting. I dont do it, even though i have more than enough resources to do it. I am tired of having outlined how these botters are getting away with it and not getting banned and sending it to support with nothing happening. At this point it is no longer the botters fault, but GF/RW and I have just said "whatever".

I think you need a lot more support for IG issues. Other games can bypass quests for players in a matter of hours if it is broke... It takes Months to get RW to fix them and GF probably has no way to manually fix it on a case by case until RW fixes it. GF needs to lean on RW. Quit letting them profit off of a game that they rehash old material (this is why issues with festivals last year are happening again), and dont even apply the fixes they learned the previous year. The quests and "new content" is stale at best because they are just rehashing cause they dont care..... They are looking to Dragon Prophet making them money... Not Rom... and GF is letting them.

the entire support system/structure is different now...gameforge support is handling gm duties etc i imagine. so them being awol from the forums is probably just the differences in company policies. theres defintely gm's around though, as some bannings have illustrated quite succinctly

problem with botting is, as nyte said in one post a while back...it takes quite a bit of time to make sure you're banning someone deserving banning. he said he would rather let 10 botters go free than ban 1 legit main toon by mistake. botters are annoying but really not the enemy...its the gold farmers botting clops/kalin shrine 24 hours a day on 15,000 accounts that are the enemy of all mmo's. theyre the ones that hack accounts, destroy economies and kill puppies etc. (although i think they got bored of rom..not much signs of them around of late.)

and no, im not saying botting isnt illegal and bad..it is, and interferes with legitimate ppl trying to enjoy their game. im actually too lazy to bot. never even seen the program. but with limited manpower i think other duties take the gm's priority.

it totally does suck that it takes runewaker forever to get issues resolved. hopefully the communication between gf and runewaker is better than it was than with froggiester. seems like stuff is getting fixed faster than it was in ch1-3...where it just kinda..wasnt fixed

crap..forgot the troll thing i was gonna troll post ><

Is it just me or this is one of another Zid's strat to promote his guild (and a bit Reni except for those 5 he does not like :D)

As Vfwiffo noticed, job is not exactly rewarding, especially with amount of aggro players (especially one complaining about sales) we create, but guess what is main source of problems... Someone lost DIAS thanks to server errors in time we had SW lags and STILL no answer nor DIAS back. Poor and close to no communication is just adding more to unhappiness... and major result is smaller population on servers.

We went from leadership that did some questionable mistakes, but some good communication and couple big things for players (like Owenstein), to leadership that was mostly based on promises that things will be looked at to no communications at all... Our population followed closely as well, from times where even in DFR you will find some players, fly was always full raid on at least 2 channels to 1 zone everywhere except Varenas and latest zone....

Hey, don't pick on Raves. It's pretty darn hard to post nothing helpful when you post a lot, and occasionally he slips a little*, sure. But he tries.

* And, yes, before you ask, I work on it every week myself as well, I am just not as good at it.

kidding, sheesh....tough crowd....i will say, as much of a troll he is, i don't know of any other person i'd go with druid questions, as nobody else has his level of knowledge and experience playing druid in the game(that's still around, i think we all know the older guy)...

You talking about X something... the one who made all the druid guides, the ones that were lost forever even though they really should have been preserved...

Xerise, I think it was. :) Those guides were really helpful to struggling druids back then, since it was before druids got their big make-over. Some of them are still floating around (I believe 3 were re-posted by someone else in the guides forum), but some were lost in the forum change. I remember when he (she?) had a separate guide for each combo. I really wish people still made guides as intricate as those.
