its bascically a bug fix because xbows were not supposed to have 200 range in the first place. it becomes a problem when such stuff gets changed after 2 years ....

Where did that idea ever come from xbows have a much greater range than bows. It is just another nerf to the scout class the death of a thousand cuts continues for scouts.

Anywho, does all this light damage mean knights will need to start stacking mAtk as well as/in place of pAtk?

Update: just looked up the stat values for knight... if mAtk is now an integral part of the light damage calculation, then the 2mAtk + .5pAtk from int for knights just got pretty beefy. Lol... knights statting like mages... that'd be hilarious

Update 2: nvm, read the notes again that say Physical Light Damage. What's the difference between physical damage and physical light damage?

Well these are the most anticlimactic patch notes I have ever seen, I've been around for every new chapter and half the excitement is the changes to classes, or hybrids. Instead we got "here is the knight changes we promised in chapter 4"

It shows to me the lack of effort RW is putting in the game, as if it has been handed to interns to develop as a way to graduate. A new chapter is supposed to get older players back, it is a disservice to game forge as well because it usually means increased cash flow. Frankly I don't think we will see knights who quit 2 years ago come running back. Runewaker should be embarrassed to call this a new chapter release, this should of been 5.9.9.

Knights get a TP reset in their inventory on login. Just got one :)

Edit: Everyone gets a reset stone it seems , atleast in WC a Mage and a Priest got one too.

huh? i just logged in. on my knight/warrior/priest 72/70/50 everything (except WWS lol) IS reset AND i got a reset stone. Will change class after update of Itempreview is through to see about autoresets on the other class options or where to use the skill stone

I... don't even know what to say about the changes... knights... what? Their damage is now calculated entirely like Ignite for S/M is. The same wording and everything for how the damage is done. I really hope they didn't leave Knights out in the cold here. Damage boost is pretty mediocre at best if this is really the case. But where has all the brandy/aggro boost gone? I really really hope they tested these new values well because this could be a deal maker/breaker for knights potentially.

K/W atm , but i did not follow if there were much changes except the different weapon mastery during most of CH5.

now:
Former Hatred is on much shorter CD (40s) now and runs 20s.
Shield of Valor adds %parade (i remember physical damage mitigation) and shortens Holy Seal CD for each parade. Secondary buff effect the same (def/dex)
Discipline Shield now reduces for the same amount of physical as it does magical (63% max) - wow if thats new.


Shield Bash now absorbs damage relative to maxhp and generates aggro
Mana reclaim increases STR and damage

the old mechanic with the 8s buff that you are supposed to keep up stays (sorry dont have the english name atm, the old +136.5 aggro one)

passive MP now increases healing received and light damage dealt , too.

never got the 60/70s on the char , cant tell about changes there. looks different but interesting.

edit, not exactly, details following.

Varanas snoop => port to every map on the same continent plus Rorazan + Heffner
Rorazan snoop => port to every map on the same continent plus Varanas/Obsi/Dalanis
Dalanis snoop => port to every map on the same continent plus Rorazan

Now if they just had Dalanis(THH) added to Varanas snoop -like Rorazan did- and vice versa it would be REALLY good. So its good and its an improvement but can be improved more.

Is it just me or did K/S get left off the list? Did they get any changes? Most of their skills are defense with the one offense boost of increase to HS damage.

"[490242] Discharge <Mage Class-specific skill>: The skill description reads now:
PLV=0:
Inflicts 55 + 0.1 x INT Wind damage to targets within range and a Stun for 5 seconds.
(For players this effect lasts for 3 seconds.)
(This skill stat will increase and decrease based on equipment and target strength)"

Looks like a slight nerf to Discharges intel multiplier. Was 0.3 x Int if I recall correctly. But with the added "This stat will increase/decrease based upon equip and target str," I dunno if it's really a nerf at all. I'll have to check it out.

I wish the damage type meant something instead of branding damage values names like light, dark, fire, etc.

It should be like this:
Light damage = phys DPS + magical damage
Dark damage = phys DPS + magical damage + % of offhand phys DPS
Fire damage = magical damage (because it already is buffed)
Wind damage = Magical DPS + magical damage
Earth damage = phys DPS + Magical DPS

all based upon weapon values
why not?? it wouldn't be bad because caster weapons had an increase in phys DPS

so english knights will absorb 63% magical damage and ..uhm... 63% magical damage while german knights will absorb 63% magical and 63% physical damage :D

hey, all the bad aoes are magical :p

(and probably you can reduce magical damage taken still down to ~2% with Discipline Shield + VN Tank Cape buff )
