lol so This is why nothing ever gets fixed

Quoted from "Kalvan;605483"

Whether you choose to believe it or not, the Bug Reports, when they're properly written, do get read and reported from our forums.

As for the correct format for bug reports, whether they're on the US or EU Bug Report forums, refer to the template posted by Roeksha here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=67775

And pay attention to his statement that if the report isn't submitted using that template, the report will be ignored.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Didn't want to hi-jack that thread from a + jewel discussion, so started new thread.

When people post bugs, most of them don't really look over the sticky thread to see that they have to post this in a specific format (as evident by the 99% of the threads in the bugs forum that aren't in the required format at all). Most are just posted in a regular text method, like you would for any other post.

According to this statement, than 99% of the bug reports aren't even reaching QA at all. Recycle Bin Department ftw!!! ;) (We don't get enough of those jokes anymore nowadays). Explains a whole lot about where all the feedback goes lol.

So now it seems it is harder to report a bug than to live with it.

this is pretty much the reason so many are f2p, nothing gets done...if we actually had customer service...and support, and timely bug fixes, then yeah, i'd be willing to put some money down for what i enjoy...

it's like buying a boat, putting it in the water, and realizing there is a hole in the hull...then you take it back to the dealer on the trailer and they say "oh, we can't replicate your problem" before they even try to put it in the water...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

They need the version info?, if I post a bug report today, what version will we be in before it's read?
Does it take them long enough to read a bug report that the version will be that different?

I was always taught to check the received date.

I figured it would probably be worth posting so people don't have to waste time writing a bunch of feedback that aren't "worth forwarding to Runewaker", which is about 99% of the feedback.

Though if it pleases you, sure, I'm just kidding you.

Ruisen, you are so wrong. The appropriate way to report problems is posting barely readable rants on discussion forum. Bonus effectiveness if it is not completely clear what the problem is; and if you really want it to work, stress that you could've posted much worse message, but barely contained yourself. That will work for sure.

Beat me to it. I was going to post : No the reason they don't get fixed is cause people still think coming to the forums and posting about a problem is the proper way to go. People may think "man the support system doesn't work".... however, going outside of the support system guarentees it doesn't get fixed.

It should be called "People are too stupid to read" instead.

Instead of reading the actual forums top people just bump the threads complaining "hey we did not get a blue post here" after one page of "this is bad and everything" whining and trolling instead of a bug report - happens often enough in these threads.

So, nothing gets fixed because they ask for a totally unreasonable bug report template which noone in the bug report forum gives a single F about and spams and bumps everything because that totally helps and does not clutter the subsection with crap and then after 2 years we come to complain that the reason is not that people are too stupid to read or not giving a F to put any effort into a consistent report or even not enough support/QA staff but that they asked for a template which makes their job easier and helps to save a bit time!!!!1

....

this is the way it works:

1 spam the bug report section ignoring the template for 1.5 years
2 spam even more by bumping twice a week for not getting a blue reply to YOUR problem because that of course is the most important one
3 spam even more because you STILL did not get anything replied to, fixed, or forwarded because of 1+2
4 create threads about it which isolate the bug report template which people choose to ignore in the first place as the problem

YAY!

And btw not everything unreplied IS actually never acknowledged, read, forwarded or whatever. Its just x times the amount of work to keep every damn thread updated , let alone filter all the duplicates.

Getting the stuff to the actual QA and RW has a higher priority than replying to "but i want my blue post NAOW!!!!!111... Where is MY blue post!!?!?!?!1111" (1 day later...) "BUMP because i dont see a bluepost!!!!1111" ... (<- you're surely not getting a bluepost this way smart..., and your thread has just been moved to the end of the queue because you are too stupid to read)

That said, RW is still to blame for a whole lot of sh.t thats not getting fixed in a timely manner (quest line bugs come to mind but hey GF can sell more DQ tickets :P), but "TIL after 2 years that nothing ever gets fixed because GF wants a template filled out and noone gave a F about it" ? seriously?

....

Exactly. People coming to the forums to enact any form of change... is ridiculous. Expecting any type of response from someone on the forums... about anything. Is just the wrong way to go about. Even in other games, going to the forum to blare your problems is futile. That is why I don't get why people feel it is now the proper way to go about things. Might as well just waste your time, once you make your forum post. I have said this in other threads too.

Reworded post and topic the change the tone. I wasn't intending to QQ or enact any changes (at this point, I don't really care anymore). Just noted something which I thought was pretty amusing, since it made the old Recycle Bin Department jokes more true than I ever knew.

My post wasn't aimed entirely at you. I just have seen a lot of the "if I whine on the forums" type posts. Yours just is the most recent. Actually I had just finished posting on a beta forums for another game about the exact thing lol. They had told us "don't post on the forums "fix this, etc" and gave us a form to fill and email. No one was listening. My post there was FAR less.. uhh .. diplomatic.. yea. :P That more kicked me into posting. I did notice/remember the "recycling bin" jest. Don't take my raging personally, actually if that isn't what you were aiming at, ignore it entirely :)

I used to love those recycle bin department jokes, and the fact that it became true was just a big LOOOOL moment for me, and I just had to say something about it. :D

The thing is, posting to the forums used to work to get some problems fairly clearly across to the GM team, which in turn would actually forward it to RW. As of now though, no matter how well worded and concise the problem is described, nothing is getting forwarded. I have a thread about a Wl/R elite skill being broken in the bug report section, and who the hell knows if it has even been read, let alone forwarded, due to a lack of any kind of response from the boys in blue.

So berating people for coming to the forums to complain makes no sense, since that was the easiest method in the past. Frogster taught us that it was fine to do that, and it worked faster than sending in a ticket with them. These days though, it doesn't matter how you send in a bug report (via the forums or sending a ticket) because no one will ever read it, and it will never get fixed unless it personally affects one of the EU GM team, and they see it for themselves while playing.

I Wrote out my problem, then stuffed it in a bottle that I tossed in the river last week, this morning a pigeon landed on my front porch with a response tied to it's leg, was fast , but was still a "can't duplicate your issue" message.

In many cases though, many complaint/reports I see in the forums, if they are from people I know, they've already reported the issue through channels long before they posted, sometimes a month or more.
Last issue I reported with my alt, I quested from 35 to 70 just playing a couple times a week before I ever heard anything back.
No response leads to forum 'complaints' I'd say create a toon on a non-US server, level up over 20, and then make the reports on their forums.

You're presuming quite a bit here, and much of it is incorrect.

Your "bug report" on the "Crime and Punishment" skill really isn't one, and it appears to be more feedback than anything else. If you'd be willing to re-write it using the template that Roeksha provided, please do so. Leave out the calculations and whatnot, unless they truly are needed for comparison's sake.

And remember that you're not guaranteed to get a response from "the boys in blue" (some of whom are definitely not male) for any bug report submitted.

Use the template and the report will be read and forwarded to QA.

Just so we are all clear the report template would be:
