In a saner universe, people would be looking at this and saying "oooh, many of the things we wanted fixed have been fixed. Pretty nice, thanks. Took a while but better late than never". In that universe, one's self-esteem doesn't seem to be dependent on exceeding the limits of how much of ungrateful jerk you can make yourself.
