Jeez, i had a few daimond i had an on an alt i was going to sell, but thought the prices were really crazy, didnt know it was due to that, ill rather not take part in it, dont want ppl thinking im a douchebag.

The way i expect it to work is that unlike "support site" which deals with all kinds of game related issues from diamond transactions, bugs, glitches and any other coding errors with the game programming and takes along time to get a response to because it usually is not priority quick fixing or game breaking(rememberi said usually, we dont get many incidents where things need to be dealt with in a few hours). The cheater report site will only deal with the mentioned things of illegal activity within game so who ever is montiring the site will act more quickly to that information. like a special task force dealing with azhats in general.

Thats just my take on it. so dont quote me or hold me to it.

i dont know of 3 ways to report botters......only way i know is to capture video and send a link to support

And lets hope something gets done if we send in any reports the gold spammers keep growing and its getting old adding them all to my blist and if i get on an alt that doesnt have them blisted i see a LOT of them.

This should work well unless they require you to leave the game and file a support ticket in which case it would be a total failure. The method should be that you should be able to file a report by clicking on the character or the name in chat and file a complaint. Or at worse hit escape and be given a menu option for filing a complaint. This would be a successful way of handling the problem.

This letter done shoulda been mailered ter us bout twenty days ago. Me tis hopin that we twill finally see some responsibility from those in authority, includin some visits ter the Xaveria dogs.

Now to answer the question about how this will be better. My idea is this: GF probably has a ton of people designated GMs, that monitor multiple games and they work out of this office. Their other games are done in this manner for reporting, so those games get their reports sent to these GMs. When GF bought out Frogster, they had existing staff and an existing system that they had bought and was in place. Instead of firing everyone, or just implementing their system across Runes of Magic, they decided to wait to see if the current support system (that had been apparently working since the game was profitable) would continue to be enough. Now they are to the point they are realizing the support system was never great and they closed the last offices that were Frogster before the GF purchased it, and are now going to take Rom and adapt it into their existing report/botting/support system, which they now know has been working for their other games.



I figure they made a calculated risk analysis and it just ended up just not working the way they had intended. Sometimes predictions just don't work the way you want. Hindsight being 20/20 they probably feel they should have just done this when they first bought the game or soon there after.

Wondering how many toons will get deleted.

I hope these dupers got an IP ban... cuz account / temp bans don't do anything to stop them.

They can change their IP's easily too.

I love how people are all clamoring for IP bans, MAC address bans, etc., anyone with even 5% of a brain can get around either one of those in less than 10 minutes. If they want to play RoM bad enough, they will play. And there is literally nothing GF can do about it. All we can hope is that the exploits are fixed, and that any others get fixed a lot faster than this one did.

only thing I think that they could do from an IT support standpoint to stop some of the botters/gold spammers etc is to region ban. Any IP address from a certain region cannot access the server. It would be extremely hurtful to any legit players playing in that region, however. I just don't know how many legit players in China there are. Could be funny though. Another game I knew had problems with a different region of the world with botters/etc. They region banned and botting/gold spamming dropped to next to nil lol.



Course with botting, there is a WHOLE FORUM dedicated to how to bot on RoM. It gives away the bot for free, gives out scripts, gives support, tells people how to try to avoid bans, and the works. I have reported this site to support before and they didn't do anything about it... if there is anything they could do. They openly discuss botting and hacking... it is a damn shame. Edit to add, maybe I should resubmit that info if there is a new support structure in place.
