some of these new rules will not be followed and for good reason, i would not do a (gold to dia) trade just to make a (gold to item) trade, its faster to do a (dia to item) trade.. thats a stupid rule and i hope others see that as well, also telling bilingual players (myself included) that they have to speak english on the US server is about the dumbest thing i have ever seen for a rule, the US is a country filled with many ethnicities (people from different counties/nationalities), you dont like it? sell the US rights to someone else.

i will speak whatever language i prefer, deal with it and get over it

also equal trading is crap too, i lend gear out often and give some gear away free, im not going to ask for something in return

Publishing links or information that have nothing to do with Runes of Magic as well as other games is not permitted.

What. So that is lame. It needs to be 100% rom, 100% of the time. Rom is hardcore tryhards at this point. This is a people game, people like to do things other than rom. This is absurd.

Exchange items for Dias (such as "I offer you my Equip for 1000 Dias" or similar)

That is stupid. People buy dias. You have the cash already gameforge. I don't understand why this is now a bannable offense. You know how hard it is to sell / buy dias now that the exploiters fucked the economy? This is one of the best ways to secure a foothold if you are someone trying to gear up by spending money on this game.

karma> Imma put out there that there was a game I loved before RoM that pretty much got destroyed when players from another region came in and didn't bother trying to learn english. Let's just say that the GM's took the same viewpoint as you & the game changed... more and more non-english speakers started playing and it was pretty much required to learn to speak another language on an ENGLISH speaking game. There were more issues w/ that game that happened to pop up w/ the increase in non-english speakers, hacking, duping, etc... but that was always my pet peeve... IF a server is specified to be a certain language, it behooves you to attempt to speak that language. </ rant>

re: diamonds for gear

The verbage is in there solely to protect GF Support from the situation I posed before where someone gets scammed. IF you trust someone enough to give them dias for their gear, nobody is gonna say anything about using the AH to put 1 gold for X amount of diamonds. It's a legitimate sale... now if someone sends you 120 dura, t8 +16 gear out of the goodness of their heart, then yay! But if they don't, then don't go crying to support.

the USA servers are for players that live in... you guessed it, USA, if they dont speak english, ask them to or ignore them, banning or silencing someone for not speaking english (and all the other crap rules) is just their way of trying to drive away players so they can shut this game down instead of beating around the bush for another year.

however, with the exception of AUS, (server now in USA) they could have stated if you live in a country that hosts a RoM server then you must play on that server or be banned, that is understandable given the ping/lag issues, but language barriers... thats asking players to leave

I believe the verbage is in there solely for those that flat out refuse when you do ask them to speak the language of the server.

Black there is no way to monitor that rule. It is a rule put in place only to protect Gameforge from a scammed player. If player A sells gear to Player B for diamonds and player A is dumb enough to drop gear first Gameforge will not protect or help Player A in any way and rightfully so. I would be shocked to see anyone banned over this. People sell accounts for cash and I have never seen any of them banned because how would anyone prove there was a transaction and that "stuff" was not given away for free.

Should you find a bug, use it and then profit by doing so, you risk facing a lock out from the game for a period of time. Bugs should be reported on the forum, to a Mentor or to support.

lol we all know this aint happening, why report to forum when more people will know, it just gets deleted anyways, why report to a mentor when all they say is send a ticket to support, whey send a ticket to support when it takes a few weeks for automated reply, a few months more for them to even look at the problem

most of these new rules keep mentioning mentors, thought they only work on the forum, if still have the same gm/cm based from gameforge germany like we do now, i don't see how any of these rules will be able to enforce, unless you want the players to screenshot everything about a player who they caught and dont like so they can just get a few days ban, great.

rules are meant to be broken if there are no higher ups in game inforcing them,

the gold sellings will just change their character names to joesknows joedoes joebot or any kind of name without random letters and more gold spamming,

the botters will always be there, since hundreds maybe even thousands of reports on botters and yet they are still there day in day out,

without actualy ingame powers nothing has changed yet, unless did u guys actually give more powers to mentors :pillepalle: :puke:

Lemonater hit the hammer on the head of the nail perfectly.

We only agree to the old Terms and Conditions that were Frogster America's back when they ruled the turf. While they are similar in many ways, they're not the same. Gameforge can put all the rules on the forums they want. Not everyone reads them. This should be fixed ASAP if we're to agree to and be enforced from new rules.

Rules need revising imo. Certain ones are too vague/confusing.

don't you guys already have rules you cant/don't enforce, mainly because you're to lazy to even login to your own severs and view them and watch chat in real time. Don't login then pass out free stuff and make a circus out of it in hopes for some facebook photo op.... here let me do your job for you and send in a support ticket which takes 2-3 weeks to even get an automatic message then and IF they fix it, it will take months after that

you guys NEED people in game and not just mentors, you need for the GM's to make regular face time with the players

also Palengue isn't even listed as a sever on your support page, we have to pick "others" wtf up with that??

Exactly, Rules are all fine and dandy, but unless we actually get some kind of GM/CM Presence in the game physically, this is just a wasted announcement.

The Au server was once quite a different place. Being a single server we had access to a GM almost 24/7 (within reason) Reporting a bot was as simple as sending a whisper GM would investigate and confirm. If someone scammed you and you spoke to a GM about it they did lots of fun stuff to that persons account like them being unable to open mail AH or if unlucky enough to enter their house they were stuck there. Why did they do this? It forced the scammer to contact them.

We even had them join our team speaks or fun events like all out war (watching 2-3 guilds vs the GM team was always fun) they would play hide and seek and give away little things here and there. I remember once one GM spawned Annelia in the middle of Varanas Central Plaza just so that most players that had never progressed there could see her. (Was to celebrate the first take down of Annalia on the Au server)

Rule changes are fine and dandy but the lack of GM interaction is what kills a game. GF moved the server from Au to the US overnight with no warning then to rub salt into the wound there was no response when players asked questions. If I dig around I could probably find the thread that Grey Eminence started trying to blame our isp connection for the increased ping rather than the server move.

I like what I have seen recently it shows that Gameforge is trying to fix the issues, unfortunately for the Au server that has come to late. There is no endgame players left as all of us have moved on.
Everybody with 2 brain cells can come into the forums and make up a story within 10 minutes about how they got banned for nothing.
Everybody with 0 functional brain cells will jump on any good story and simply start bashing either us Mods, the Support or GF per se.

Some of the new rules need to be applied imediatly, some make on sense at all. ANW they could bring back Cedric to reballance dia sale on AH.

well new rules dont look horrible but i agree that we need more in game presence........i also believe that we will get this it will just take a little time for the new leadership to get a full hold on the u.s. servers

If these rules are not posted anywhere in game you CAN NOT ban people for not following them. A very small majority of players visit the forum. You can't ban people for breaking rules that only 20% of the playerbase even know exist.

That and most of these rules are stupid as hell, but that's a different matter.

Also as many others have said... you can't even enforce the rules you have now, I don't know how you think you're going to enforce these.

yep i agree clear rules like :

You dupe = Permaban, account, IP ( yes even if it's easy to go around it, but still ) :missilelauncher:
you Hack = 1 month ban second time = 3 month ban, 3rd time = permaban
You exploit = same as hack
You buy gold = same result
Add-ons that are accepted and those who are not, no acceptable or gray area, yes or no, simple

Botters = permaban of that whole account and that player other accounts too, no if and but and check the IP of those and that way you get all the accounts ;-) :ill:

Clean up the servers and make them fun again, more will come and play, if it's clean

GM in game or 1 or 2 responsible and honest players on each server with limited rights to temporarely ban (48 hours) said players mentionned above, then they can argue with higher ups or support to fix it.

This game with the new team really gives us more of what we wanted, they are truly making changes, Runewaker does the game, not them ;-). But at least we see stuff moving along now, tyvm to all of them.

I think a lot of these rules are "we have them so we can use them when we need to", not a "they are the law and they will be enforced with an iron fist!" It is more of a cover all so that if you are doing something shady, you got multiple reasons they COULD ban you. Not saying that if you do it immediately that you will get banned.

Also Cedric back to normalize diamond prices? I always love the "please make it easier for me not to spend money on your game" requests. The easier they make it not to spend money on the game and progress, the less money they get.... Plus if you don't like diamond prices, maybe you should talk to the people that are buying them at that price. Supply and demand. If the Demand is there for the supply at the price it is, prepare for increases. People want more for their RL dollar, just like you want more without spending a dollar. If a company has a choice, which do you think they will side with? The ones paying them money, or not?

Also don't you all remember how there were cries for Diamonds back in the AH and how it would drive down diamond prices? Remember the guy saying that wouldn't be the case..... This guy.

And I COMPLETELY agree Zid, they need more of a hard line on that stuff.

Rules are meaningless in themselves it is only through enforcement do they acquire any value.
