New Rule Comming Into Effect

So let me get this right..If im a new player and I have money to spend on this game, then its a bannable offense for me to say, Hey I want to trade the diamonds I bought from Gameforge for the gear you are sell.. I must sell my diamonds for gold on the ah or sell directly to a person for gold, in order to purchase said piece of gear? Really Gameforge? Your telling ppl they can't spend the money that they put on the game for what they want to? This is why your game is gonna fall soon. Your telling ppl how they can spend the money they purchased on the game.. No person in there right mind is gonna let someone else dictate how they spend their money.. Come on now..

I had a question about the new rules as well. I have a modified game soundtrack. Does that break the rules? I love my siege soundtrack, so much more intense than the normal soundtrack. I'm hoping that I'm within the rules still.

Shhhhh. Don't tell them you're doing anything out of the ordinary and they won't know. Not like they know what you've modified in your folder. I guarantee you 99% of the people who used to use remove spell effects still do even though it's a bannable offense now.

From what I know up to this point:

You're still free to use gifting or simply do a 1 gold : X diamonds trade.
(Which is the same thing as before because there is no way in the game you can trade Diamonds *directly* for your items and there has not been a legitimate way ingame to do so in the last 3,5+ years.)

Just for clarification:

As for replacing spell effects, also known as "model folder" or "Remove Spell Effects": This has not become a bannable offense just yet but has *always* been one technically. External client modification was *never* allowed. The use of RSE was merely *tolerated* in the past because it obvioulsy helps users improve their gaming experience (being able to raid with decent FPS, or sometimes to run the client smoothly at all). Widespread abuse of this tolerance (because fps-heavy effects are not the only thing that were being removed with this method) has in the end led to the official stance of publicly stating that this modification is not only forbidden like every other external modification (technically), but also not tolerated anymore. This is also not news just with the new rules but has been the case for well over a year, maybe even longer - i'm not sure about the exact point in time. Detection and therefore enforcement of these rules ingame is up to Support employees - or GMs (soon, according to one of Mikas last posts, just to prevent the usual "but we don't have any!!!" posts). If you get caught or reported with proof for walking through closed doors or similar things possible with the abused version of RSE you're definitely going to be in trouble.

Yep this is what I do, set the game music to 0 and use my windows players to listen to what ever i want.

if that's the case then I have nothing to worry about. I was just looking for a little bit of clarification on the matter. And for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make quotes work on the new forums. Can someone tell me how to quote properly?

You have disable BBCode in your posts. This can be toggld individually per post from the "Settings" tab in under the editor or from within your profile for a more permanent fix. Either way, turn it back on to make quotes work.

People are taking these rules way too over the top. Nothing new is really happening. All the things have been technically not allowed by some part of the EULA. They are just coming out and reiterating the points and making them more clear. People starting to dissect them and going, "what about this", "what about that?", or "well I do this".

If you are doing something to your client information that lets you do something you know you shouldn't be doing... Don't do it. I don't know why anyone would spend the time to edit sound files when having a music player in the back ground and most keyboards have buttons for media now adays. Seems like a lotta work... for almost no reason.

Pretty much if you are doing anything besides removing spell effects, stop. Leave the client alone. Also with RSE, there is now a setting under video settings to not show spell effects of others. It does 70% of what RSE in the client did. I would say check that option before seeing if using RSE "patch" is even needed anymore. I removed my RSE patch when that was made an option and my problems were fixed, and I didn't have to edit the client.

Also, Mamnoony, when he played back in the day, was accused of cheating all the time because his computer was made in 1847 and would lag like crazy, thus the castle in SW didn't always load for him right away, and if he ran fast enough, he could be standing in the enemy castle when it loaded around him. Technically, that's not cheating, and he did nothing at all to any files.

To be fair and for clarification, there is a way in game to trade gear (or any other AH item) for DIAS, but it has been disabled by Frogster and it is now disabled by GF. (actually I doubt they even know how to turn it on)

It is possible to trade gear for DIAS directly, and to post everything for DIAS exchange. Not sure why GF does not help its customers by enabling it (even if that mean learn how to do it) as this would fix many issues and lower number of cheaters (time when only way to sell DIAS was to gift someone).

Care to check with higher power why DIAS in AH are not enabled completely?

ps. they can enable only purchased DIAS if they want to

It has been patched out back in Beta or in Chapter I simply for the fact that EVERYTHING will be only posted in Diamonds. And with everything i mean every little tiny thing. 1 Stack Hero Pots? Sure, 200 Diamonds. A music instrument? Sure, 500 Diamonds. Oh, you only have Gold? sorry, totally worthless. Only Diamonds.

And what i said stands. There is no way to do it now in the game, only Gold <> Diamonds. There has not been a way in the last 3.5+ years to sell anything that is not Gold for Diamonds in a *direct* exchange. Even longer. My player account will complete 4 years this month and this has never been enabled in my whole playtime. This goes back to Chapter I, which is before September2009, or even back into the Beta times from the end of 2008. It was tried and it did not work at all and was therefore disabled and discarded. Rightfully so.

So to you makes more sense to trade useless gold (what is now, like over 80 mil for 1000 dias) than allow easy trade in AH. Sure, it wold take some adjustment in beginning, but it would adjust itself and price would become close to what they are atm.

How different is trading directly for DIAS vs. trading dias for gold and then trading gold for an item?

What you just said it does not make much sense.

EDIT: I remember people say that there is no way they would enable even DIAS trade in AH. But they did and made sense to prevent cheaters. Why not use game the way it was intended instead of handicap all players and blame it on RW?

It keeps gold having some semblance of value. If everything could be traded for diamonds, gold might as well be taken out of the game. Literally everything would only ever be sold for diamonds, because that's all people want gold for, is to buy more diamonds. It would completely obliterate the currency, and that's not a good idea.

I don't know who is crazier, GF or the players. Y'all know no matter what u complain about in this forum GF has the final say. If they want to end your existence in this game they can do so at a whim. Even if you have given them thousands of dollars to play this game they can take away your account at any given time. So best not to play this game lol. All your rantings not gonna fix any of the pre, and post game issues. I had lags since beginning of this game and I still have it that's after 3 years of playing. Try putting in a ticket in support and u wont get any answers just same bs. Try to buy dias and they will get out of their way to provide u many ways to get ur rl money. All I gotta say is stop investing in this game unless u want a headache, invest more time in your real life people and you will be happier. I will still play my alts but not gonna give them more money until they actually fix this game and start being transparent with players. And for Christ sake get ur GM support team if there is one to answer those inquiries...
