Why would anyone think that mages should be upgraded? In reality they need a huge nerf.

Can someone post what the new 1-h hammer & 1-h sword look like?
I suggest downloading charplan addon. If memory serves me right, it has the lvl 82 items in it. However, do not assume anything anyone posts is "definite" until the patch comes online as they can change stuff from the data they added -- they add in new items into the database before they are actually obtainable so Item preview, and charplan if it is updated, will have 82 items during the 80 cap.

Quoted

My guildies linked a few new mage staves in Item preview, and so far -
they look totally lame for a 12 man Hardmode. Haven't seen any staves
that are an upgrade from Hoson Spine. So, how does the other class'
weapon upgrade look so far? Would be depressing if mages, for the third
12 man instance in a row, got no respectable weapon upgrade while every
other class does.

The reason why there isn't a huge increase is due to the fact they are tier5 items. That is to say, while a hoson spine gets 7 increases at tier 11, the new items only gain 6, hence there shouldn't be a huge difference.

I'm at work, so I can't do /cp :)

Was just hoping to see if it's gonna be worthwhile to upgrade my current lvl 80 hammer

assume you are talking about the staff. That is really the only thing a mage has to complain about from syble pass. Beth HM made mages Gods over physical classes so I would not complain. [/QUOTE}

I think it was more like RW forgetting that magic DPS still exists in this game.

And also, not everyone can run Beth HM. Maybe 3-4 guilds per server, which does not make up for the remaining 95% of the mage population. its like saying "Ok, from now on, only Rogues in guild above 5000 points in siege are allowed to be invisible, fair?"

Another thing that got lost in translation...

If I am reading this correctly (keep in mind, my German is very rusty, haven't used it in almost 20 years :)) there will be gems for gear L80-L90.

29

Monday, September 9th 2013, 9:46pm

Probably correct, as they will include not so helpful L80-L90 XP/TP encyclopedias. (part that they did not translate from original news in German)

Quoted

• Level 81-90 EP/TP Enzyklopädien

I don't remember every seeing those.... I knew about weapon skill encyclopedias... is this something new?

They are not mentioning level increase, but those are just pre-patch notes. That might get later in there...

Oooh, good job. German notes show quite a bit more info, including maps and dwarven ISS. Unfortunately ISS are images, so unless someone feels like typing it into Google translate, we have to wait for details. Hmmm... if only we had someone who could read German around here...

Only detail which is not mentioned is "Level 81-90 Aufwertungssteine", which google translate makes into "Level 81-90 stones appreciation". I think this means new jewels since new gear will need them. And an indirect way of saying level increase.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

wow yea, I hadn't thought of that, they would have to add new plussing gems lol.

I had my gf, who speaks German look at it. Yeah it is xp/tp encyclopedias, it is 80-90 plussing gems. Still nothing in there about level max. Didn't bug her to read the ISS cause we don't have dwarves :P

Its not. The weapons are on par with the other 62/67/72/77 ones. Stick with the one you have now, which I'm assuming is a bethh hammer.

all I mostly care about with the mage staves is that they still haven't fixed the Pdmg issue, which has only been reported since AC and still hasn't been addressed. Does the new staff finally have more pdmg then mdmg? Also does it have crit rate on it?

Yes one of the new staffs does have more pdmg than mdmg on it.

Mage staff to have at L82 is Sayafiz's claws - at T10+16 it is 8914 pdam, 10440 mdam. Int/Matt ghost stats, no crit.

As mentioned, the problem with L82 gear is that it gets less bonus from same tiering because it is naturally T5. So, while mdam is less than Hoson, which is 10489, that damage comes from adding 5 tiers, not 6. We had similar situation already before, when KT came out at "just over the tier" mark. While RT gear was, and is, still popular, nobody ever wore much that came from KT.

You mean the staff that is labeled "... for melee battle" and comes with patt instead of matt?

Yes, I also showed the one with basically even pdmg/mdmg.

Not really the right thread for a mage argument. But IMO mages are fine. Sure I wouldn't mind a fixed staff (I believe a fix is in the works around lv 85 update as the lv 82 gear was already made before they said they would fix it.) But all the endgame mages in our guild keep up if not exceed our physical dps.

Im more interested in dark aura that gives psi while in willpower state. Looks like you can extended it a litte longer.
