Compensation for downtime...

Since no one else has started one yet, I'm going to take on the jerk for this. When and what kind of compensation are we going to get for having a fail patch and not being able to play for most of the day and probably most of the evening? I'm thinking either a bonus (2x or 3x) xp AND tp on quests for the entire weekend (for those on govinda/osha). At the very least 3 or 4 daily reset tickets. You've got 2 full servers that have had basically zero play time, we want something! Come on GF, make your players happy!

You're utterly delusional if you think they're going to give us a double or a triple xp/tp event on the day of a new patch. We haven't gotten an xp increase event in months; they're certainly not going to do one anytime soon before anyone has the chance to spend a bunch of diamonds to daily reset all three classes to cap.

I'd pass on the 'lost fun' but since you (Mika) had used the term 'compensate' in your post, I'd like to take you up on that 'literally' ...I'd purchased a pet perfume for usage during leveling (about 1/2 hr after the said item was purchased I relogged in Sarlo due to lag spike issues). I would like either a new pet perfume sent back to my account or a reimbursement of 25 dias for the inability to login after the purchase of a timed item from Item Shop.

PS I'll throw in for free the loss of pet buffs/exp pots/big angel sigh used and won't ask for 'compensation' for these items.

(The request for compensation has been included in my ticket regarding login problems)

Back before GF took over, they gave out 150ish diamonds once for a really long downtime on one of the servers. But that was a long time ago, with Froggy. Doubt it'll happen with Gameforge.

Although honestly, I just hope I don't lose anything. If all the AH/mail are wiped, then Gameforge is going to have to do some serious compensation.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just sent me a Daily Ticket and called it a day. Though I'd probably let that daily ticket collect dust and enjoy another game... one can only take so much with this service.

Compensation of "fun" probably means that Mika will post 3 updates and make them really cheery... hope you have fun reading it!
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Artemis got no compensation for the extra days of downtime more than the other servers that had their downtime....



I am seriously believing that GF is taking the "you don't pay per month, therefore your compensation is 0" belief system on this topic.

i might be new to this game like only a week or two been playing new, but even if it is free we should still be compensated for having to wait for this some of us actually had time limited items that probably expired now. its not our fault that we are locked out so why should we suffer for this. oh and who would i speak to directly to find out if we are getting something in return for having to wait so long

Personally I agree with the downtime compensation. I was merely saying that none of us got compensation for the rollbacks, downtime, and general frustration that happened a few months ago with the hackers. It was Runewalker not fixing a problem that private servers had already found a solution to, and that concerned gamers were informing them about for weeks before it happened. Then when the servers came back up, Artemis and another I wanna say Indigo were affected for an additional time period....


We, as players, still have seen nothing in forms of compensation for it. Not an xp/tp weekend, not a pom event, nor a daily reset ticket at all. Which was a certainly disconcerning since the time before that, when they had to bring the servers down longer, we got a proactive 2 DRT tickets. I guess getting our hopes up that this was going to be a continuing trend, was merely an act in futility.

Never understood the whole concept of "compensation" other than the fact that people believe they're entitled to play a "free" game.

The fact that a mere 2 DRT's has shut most of you all up in the past clearly indicates most are here to moan, simply because they like free stuff. Not the fact that any potential playtime was lost.

An FYI to all: In this game, you own nothing, and are owed nothing. Ever. Even with in-game lost items. Even if its their fault.

Really in any video game, your time/money is worth nothing. If they shut the game down, you get nothing. If the game goes down for a month, you get nothing.


The only reason they would ever think of compensation is due to a "if more paying players leave, there goes our profits", and customer service. If you have to ask for the compensation, you probably wont get it.

I have kept playing, regardless of the lack of care by management, just like probably most will keep playing after this, so really they have no real stance for compensation, besides being nice. I wouldn't quit over something like this, I quit over them starving us with diamond sales, cause if I cant buy diamonds on 100% or more bonus, I wont play. That changed and I came back. 1 day outta my life means I play something else all day... like my new addiction with tanks for free.

Agree w/ jester. I'm not going to make threats or whatnot if we don't get compensated. *shrug*

I'd prefer to be able to log in and kill a bunch of things, so people in real life don't get strangled. ;) That's more than enough compensation for me. :)

now, I'm not gonna turn down gifts from GF :D

Let's just get rid of this, "You owe us!" stuff... We play because we want to play. Nobody is forcing us to play. & for those of us who spend $$$ on this game? We spent it. Nobody made us spend it. :) Enjoy what you can & if you really can't enjoy this game, then move on. Don't stress yourself out over something like, "Do we, or do we NOT get compensated for a screwup?????" I'd prefer the problem get worked on & lose some playtime than get all upset over it. Other things to do.. like work, talk w/ the wife, go grocery shopping, etc...

Wat. You don't even play here. =/ You don't need compensation at all. Go away already.

The only reason I would really pitch a fit and DEMAND compensation is if there is a diamond sale and/or a REALLY good sale this weekend (puri packs, ABL's, cleaners, plussing gems for level 80+ gear, etc) and those who are locked out (including me) can't take advantage of them. If they have one of those big sales on-top of a diamond sale I can see almost all of the locked out people who buy diamonds up and leaving. I would/will.
