Runes of Magic US / AU

I think that people are spending more time playing than sitting in forums. ;)

The Karlsruhe team is doing a pretty good job of trying to take care of issues & really, that's what most of the forum posts were... qvetches about issues w/ the game.

Another factor could be that this is the Fall and people are in-school, at-work, etc...

But I do notice, as well, the forums go through periods of intense debate and periods of no posts.

Quit complaining Jinjer! In my opinion i play my mage more than my healer now b/c my main guild dont run much, and if/when they do im not on so im jsut bored/tired of my healer. No runs = no fun for me. Especially when they wont run certain lwoer isntances, ex. tosh/kbnh..

Everybody has their own reasons. I, for one, have been a bit more busy with school but to be honest, I just don't post/play much anymore because of a massive disappointment.

lol I know who you're talking about! and it's not out of spite of running them, more along the lines of wanting to, and quests and such. And like needundead said, school, and college.

Are we in same guild ?? lol. I am quite happy at the moment, we run all the time when there is enough people on and that is quite often lately. I believe your RL schedule may confilct with the times for the runs and that is really to bad . But, I know you have been invited on runs and have declined Gigi, so for you to say we don't run is not fair. You could try making a party for TOSH/KBNH instead of expecting others to make it. I would go, I am not opposed to doing older instances at all but I don't really need anything in there so Iam not gonna make a party. However if you made a party because you need something I would be more then happy to help. Just send invites, take the lead , make a party. Some people may not want to run lower instances but please don't lump us all together as "they" like you have done, that's just wrong. Just Saying


Back on topic here, I think that a lot of people are busy this time of year with school. I have seen this happen before, that the game seems to plateau and get very quiet, but it always comes back around. I love playing this game and I do not expect everything to be perfect, this is impossible, no matter what game you play. It is real nice to see that the CM's/GM's are now actually trying to improve this game.

Game-wise:

On Artemis, seems dying. Seems dead. Maybe that is just my endgame perception, but that is really how I feel.

Forum-wise:

Seems dying. Same people post all the time. Threads are limited. Compare to Germans = 124 users are browsing the forums [59 members]=
Only 39 people on these forums... [7 members]. Keep in mind, I wouldn't call now our most active time.

In the guild meeting with gameforge, I thought I heard about them advertising, but then I heard they are just doing it for the EU side.

Either way, I feel like the only hope is to investigate further into merging all servers for the NA region. All-in-one. I think that would help a lot.

GL figuring that out. (Gameforge said not to expect this anytime this year)

in all seriousness, the forums seems dead because some of the most vocal posters have simply moved on...same with ingame, the louder players are gone...and even though that may only be a handful less, they were the visible community, so without them, it feels dead...

i know i haven't been as active as i usually am simply due to the fact that i'm kinda waiting to see which way GF is going to jump next. either they actually seem like they are making the game better, and i'll play some more, or no improvement, i just kinda lose interest.

class balance is a huge part of the game experience for me, and it seems every release RW buffs/nerfs the wrong classes, and classes that really don't need any work...which is leaning towards the "no improvement" side of things...

pretty much just holding my breath at this point tbh...

There's definitely a lack of discussions here recently on the forums. Honestly, I think their silence after they screwed up the 350% XP had a bit of a part in causing it. In hindsight, I don't mind the actual screwup as much anymore, but I am rather annoyed that they've kept so silent about it, as if it had never happened.

I do enjoy discussions, but lately, if feels like our discussions would be treated as if they never existed anyway, and I do rather miss back when mentors would sympathize with players more, rather than fiercely defend Gameforge.

this...no point in talking if nobody is going to listen...all our pleas fall on deaf ears...

take the multitude of feedback threads CREATED BY GF TO SPECIFICALLY GATHER INFO ABOUT WHAT THE PLAYERS WANT, and see how many of those suggestions have been implemented. it's no wonder the game is losing people when GF can't even acknowledge the answers to questions they themselves ask...

also, like ruisen said, the total absence of GF -> player communication...idc if they screw up every once in a while, i just want them to be able to own up ti it and say "we fked up, we apologize, and this is what is happening, and this is what we are going to do about it"

i'm not blaming the mentors, or the people at the central office, i'm just saying that somewhere, there is a lack of communication, and that is what is turning off the playerbase...

I would like more communication but i do feel that they are listening to us. I believe that good things are coming.
I also think that the player base as a whole is too quick to complain even if they do things for us.some are legit complaints others well all i can say is would you like some cheese to go with that whine.

There is a difference between placating someone and listing to them. Thepit and Mika said they needed time to fix things. so I have TRIED to show patience. But so far I have seen nothing other than placation from this staff. some "He who shall remain nameless, but regularly gets smashed in the face with trout" may disagree but that's how I see it. nothing has changed.

So when things get to that point folks start finding other ways to spend their time and money. I have other hobbies. I don't need to consistently drop a couple hundred bucks a month into this game. I would rather put that money into my cuda if the folks at GF are going to be indifferent.

I won't even start to share my thoughts about this topic, but I'll use the quote bellow and say that I'm already 3 days in a row without logging in none of my toons.

To the OP, the game is dying. Looking at the posts, it is the same people. We all have battered wife syndrome, the game beats on us and yet we all stay, because for some crazy reason we love it. Most have enough since to find something that treats them better. Osha has one guild that can run end game content, and 50% of the time they have to PUG in people to run.

As far as thing getting better, people needing time to fix things, us old timers have heard this all before. The people that respond to us have NO POWER. They can ban a gold spammer, or return a lost item, but beyond that, nothing. They will end up like those before, burnt out by the frustration of their inability to do anything but listen to our cries and "forward your message."

I will be here til they close the doors, God help me.

Nothing is being done, so people have stopped using the forums. It is pointless to continue asking for fixes and items when all requests are ignored. When the thread requesting new items for sales and added to the items shop thread was started in April and its October and not one of the items was put on sale or back into the item shop it shows the futility of using the forums.
The company has given up on the game and now the players are following.

Couldnt agree more with the last few posts, I don't even see Runes of Magi ranked on the top 10 free to play games anymore? ( which is how i found rom in the first place) Never seen advertising. At least WoW has commercials and such. No magazines? even internet? Only people seem to be advertising rom is gold sellers.

Nothing is being done about the dog meat botters/gold sellers. Still have fake gold on servers ( a ton) INFLATED PRICES from the fake gold, players botting with scripts, ( daily) still hackers/dupers... NO SALES WE ASK FOR ARE BEING SOLD.

So again, what's the point of playing if nothing we want is being done?

You can say you're helping but actions speak louder than words. Sweep the problems under the rug and it makes Thepit no better than Swag.
