If you people want to keep going on about how DIYCE is a bot, I can release the script changes needed to add to it to fully make it into a bot... do you people really want that? Don't fool yourselves into thinking for a moment that I don't have the ability to actually make it into a bot. I can easily show EVERYONE how to make the changes needed, and then you will know the difference between DIYCE and a bot.

What funny here is the one (s) who keep saying that im humiliating myself is clearly to dumb to understand basic arguments.

Can GW add more code to make DIYCE even more robotic/automated, course he can. Doesn't mean that the code as is doesn't provide BOTH automation and avantages to certain types of classes.

DIYCE was created for the handicapped to be able to play the game not to be used by many to take advantage of automation and advanced coding. I would happily see the macro language reduced to basic macros only taking out logic branch coding and computer decision making, only probably half the players that pay RoM now would have to quit.

if anyone has real arguments or questions about my opinion on the subject I will happily answer if theres an answer to make.
If you guys want to have a honest debate about he subject I will continue with it, if you just want to ignore everything with the 'your dumb I don't care or want to care about your points of discussion I know im right' type of arguments keep on keeping on. At this point for me there not a lot of point in continuing with this thread.

bottom line is learn to play. that is all.

Would you like to discuss how I do not know how to play every single class combo in the game?

Many many people have explained valid arguments. You still insist there are no real arguments so its hard to reason with a brick wall.

Ghost no reason too. Diyce is working as intended and a couple of people that disagree are a clear minority. They are just mad diyce is allowed, heck I'm going to go use it now on some mobs for no reason just cause I can.

Does that make you mad bro? Complaint department is below.

i have already explained how the biggest complaint you have about diyce(CC weaving), can be done, multiple ways, using your precious "basic macros"...

obviously i must be too stupid to see your arguments, so could you please present them in a clear, concise, and easy to understand format?
not to mention my counter-arguments that have seem to have been ignored...

"i have already explained how the biggest complaint you have about diyce(CC weaving), can be done, multiple ways, using your precious "basic macros"..."

lol you clearly have no idea what my biggest complaint about DIYCE is. R/Warden CC is not my biggest complaint. GO nuts if you think that basic macro code version of CC works for you use it and not even I will complain about it long as the computer isn't making decisions for you using logic branching. Or CC isn't being added into rotation using the same click as some other skill (aka 2 skills used by one click faster then human reasoning aka skill a; wait 1; skill b is not faster than human reasoning ).

Im not gonna continue making points that clearly your not getting go back up and read again if ya have to.

"Many many people have explained valid arguments. You still insist there are no real arguments so its hard to reason with a brick wall. "

not one of you have come up with a good explanation how DIYCE is not automating. Yes DIYCE maybe be taking advantage of advanced macro coding that is in the system that doesn't make using it to automate your skills/rotations any better. Its still automation. As I said before I would happily reduce the macro scripting language to ONLY basic stuff without logic branching.

DIYCE was progammed for the handicapped but Ill wager that 90% of the people that use DIYCE are not handicapped ... physically anyway.

Since I cannot quote myself please see page 3 of this thread link below, where I clearly spell out the definition of automation and how it is not automation.

Discussion: Is the use of DIYCE botting?

Then someone replied that I was wrong because they think more than 1 thing happens when you press a key even though I clearly stated that 1 action happens for 1 press. Hence my point of talking to wall

Time to clear some more things up:

DIYCE was not created for the handicapped. Does it help them? Yes, greatly.

DIYCE was created by coders for coders, to help make their DPS better through the lag the game causes even on good machines with a good connection.

Go read the original DIYCE thread, and then read the DIYCE 2 thread. Once you do, and you have a better understanding of what it is, then you can come back to the adult table for dinner.

Also, DIYCE automates exactly nothing. You have to push a button to make it work every skill it has in it.

You left out press the same button have many things happen, press the same button have many different things happen. Start program that automatically presses button for you then leave the computer.

So what? DIYCE does not walk around or something else more complicated. That button pressing You can add to any attack skill just in skillbar.
Automatic attacking and leaving PC is against rule of collecting TP/EXP - with or without DIYCE.

I think I just fell in love with Amberwave :)
Mr. A. - DIYCE is EviLLL, burn it!!!
Mr. B. - Umm, Why is DIYCE evil?
Mr. A - What the hell is the matter with you, do you not recognize evil when you see it!! It must die, burn it!!!
Mr. B - That is what I thought, have a nice day :)

If you take out labeling (name calling?) things as a bot or automation or whatever, and think of what the question was, then I think the main point was not "boting for hours" (that's not what DIYCE is for) but that DIYCE contains "if" statements so it "takes" decisions "instead of" a player. And danielrayment does not like it.

First of all, that's exactly why we are using DIYCE: you line up your game style, decisions you would make anyway based on various parameters. See vfwiffo's post above. You need experience with you class to do this. You make effort and take time to line this up and you encode it in DIYCE. Ofc it does bring you advantage (otherwise you would not do this), but it does not make it bad. And even if someone is using a ready script - is it that far from having your first item stated by a friend and using it without understanding how it was made?

Second, it seems like ONLY a matter of taste: for danielrayment it's too much automation. For 99% of other players it's why lua is useful. I'd say "whatever unless danielrayment can justify better why he doesn't like it". Otherwise we come back to Amberwave's summary. Because, danielrayment, right now probably everyone is scratching their heads about WHY you have a problem with "logic branching"...

(And from practical point of view: you cannot just kick out "ifs" from lua. You would not be able to e.g. act differently based on your addon's config, just to give an obvious example. And if "ifs" are here to stay, then, danielrayment, besides learning something about your taste and feelings - why are we here? What it is really that you would like to achieve here?)

This discussion is at its end because ALL of RoM is codded with "if" "then" statements. Even the mailbox is coded the same and I'm not talking about a mail addon. There is no way to stop diyce without removing all addons and macros. Give up please

Well i do have to admit that it is hard to have a valid conversation with people that act like 5 year old kids. Name calling, moronic, stupid, dumb etc, what is next momma's jokes?? it was supposed to be a discussion, but apparently you people cannot have one without name calling. The only person that was able to make valid points is Ghostwolf, but you people can't seem to see that. As usual the players that can't clearly play without Dyice can't see other peoples arguments and find solution, because they cannot play their toons without it.

Close this thread, maybe next time there will be less kids posting here and more adults, tyvm.

The argument is about at what stage does it become botting. Some people are saying that it is not botting until you leave the computer for hours. The other side says that as soon as you press a button and more than one action or a different action takes place after you press the same button it is botting.
My opinion is as soon as you eliminate the ability for the human to make an error in an event, such as combat, a duel or any interaction with the environment it is botting.
If you enter a duel or pvp with a player who is using diyce or a macro you are not fighting against that person because human error is not possible all that person does is mash the same button again and again. Any thing that eliminates the opportunity for human error to take place in any event meets the definition of botting.
It is not how long the human does not make the decisions that matters but that a line of code makes them at all that is botting.

agreed close this thread .

btw you can still be at your computer and automation can still occur.

press same button over and over each time different things happen based on computer logic at rates beyond human scope. I don't care if your at your computer that's still automation.

if branch statement for certain stuff like "opening a mailbox" as the previous dude said really provides no edge in gameplay. while im not sure what the addon is doing as I don't used that addon. Im pretty sure the if branch logic isn't doing anything IN THIS PARTICUALR ADDON that I would care about. HOWEVER, if I have to remove if branching entirely to make sure that its NOT USED for things that I DO CARE about (automation of char rotations) then so be it.

@karmakarma

Thanks for the info will put that to use once I am in game.

Why all the posts we automate everything we can in real life why would we not automate as much as possible in virtual life ( where we can automate just about everything ).

So lets all automate together ( quirky eh ).
