My problem acct. starts with an M. I logged out in Dalanis Chnl 3 (because i didn't want to get stuck in my house like my wife did...lol). Her char can log in now. She was stuck in her house & was ported to Howling Mtns. Im thinking it's a channel problem since there is only 1 channel now.


I was in the same boat, until a few minutes ago when my one account that was successfully unlocked by loading to Howling Mountains was DC'd in Silverspring CH1 and now is stuck at the Loading Character Data screen as well.

Once again Beren, please point us to a thread that's not locked. It does no good to point to a thread and then lock it. And pleeeeeeease, give us more frequent updates! If you don't have then, then you should go get them!

A few have caved but many of us are eagerly waiting to see if this gets fixed before the diamond sale is over. You should understand its a matter of principle that we're not paying money for a game that we can't even play.

Sorry but the only person that can do something about your own stubbornness is - you.

We tend to the tech problems meanwhile and do what we can. And there will be more info when we have them, it does not work any other way.

You are not blocked from buying diamonds and no one is asking you to interpret a diamond sale just because 2 out of 28 servers are having problems as a "we won't fix anything but give us more money". This is not the case, and we all would like the problem being solved yesterday.

The diamonds don't expire. If you feel 130% is good enough - login on the homepage, you don't need to be ingame for it. Buy them and you will get them. If there is any technical difficutly with that, support is glad to help. Nothing is stopping you from taking part in the *diamond offer*. Plan ahead. The current sale lasts until Nov 6th anyway.

So honestly, since the diamond sale works, I do not see a reason to repeat it just for two servers. The main offer IN the IS is also not affected since it runs until next Wednesday.

The daily ticket sale is a bit different since the 2 problematic servers will clearly be missing it or missed it already (sorry, my timezones are messed up) - I'll gladly forward that this should be repeated. But please do *not* send support tickets in about "I have missed the daily ticket offer please send me tickets and subtract the diamonds from my account" - they won't do that, unless maybe on global problems. Then again, if it was global, it would be easier to repeat the sale anyway ;-)

The diamonds don't expire but it's like selling us a coupon book for a store that consistently leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
This is the second week in a row that maintenance has caused issues with Osha (or was it just Reni, either way...). So yes they can buy the coupon book that is good for that store in their neighborhood (not any others), but they can't use the coupons if the place is constantly on fire. So please try to humor the people in the neighborhood for not wanting to spend the money.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Um, seriously, :growup: We're not being stubborn. We're asking for support. In most companies there are programmers and IT pros who solve problems. They report to management and give updates in meetings, so that the HR and sales people like you can give updates and be generally helpful, without interfering with the IT pros' efforts to address the problems. In mission critical times, such as problematic servers, those meeting sessions are generally brief but occur every few hours. I've been there and know what it's like being on both sides of the equation.

Keep the updates flowing please! Specifically, not updates on the symtoms... we know when we can't log on etc, but on what's being done to address the issues and when fixes will be expected (ie next tuesday's maintenance?) please!

Beren's announcement clearly says that the diamond sale is only until Nov 1st, today, and ends approximately 10 hours from now. Might want to fix that. I don't have a lot of faith on buying diamonds for a server that is unplayable right now. I did, because I knew that GF wouldn't repeat it for a million years. If the diamond sale lasts until the date you mentioned, perhaps people would stop being "stubborn" and stop complaining (thanks for that, by the way, real mature of you) if they knew that the diamond sale lasts longer than advertised.

Gameforge's handling of this situation is simply appalling. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm trying to throw my money at you and you're not taking it, or refusing to take it. There have been no updates as to how far along, what you've done, what you're trying to do. the servers have randomly rebooted today and there's been no forewarning, no "hey, we're going to try this and that". Nothing. Simply amazing that this sort of rampant stupidity of your staff members hasn't shut you down yet.

This is not being "stubborn" as you so aptly put it, it's being cautious about buying items/currency for a game going down faster than my ex-girlfriend. It's being not stupid and spending money on something you can't play.

I was blocked at loading character data for 48 hours but can now log in. Mail and ah seem to be working but im not brave enough to test them. :) One channel on login available. No housing from the shutdown they did earlier of them.

also, since i was on irc, i knew what was happening, and how powerless the mentors were in this whole affair. and i keep seeing people come and whine whine whine whine...

for once, i thought that GF used very good communication on this issue, and i applaud them for it. they told people to wait and they would notify when it was resolved, yet people continued to make complaint threads....the mentors passed all the info they had to us, yet the playerbase demanded more. you guys wanted more open communication, so there it was: the mentors had no info. surprising? yeah, they were in the dark as much as we were, get over it...

there is this thing called real life...try it sometime...your server being down is not the end of the world...

Ooooh, IRC is great! If you're not physically there though, it sort of sucks. I've been there several times where other communities' management has abandoned the forums method of communication for an IRC channel where only 1% of the population goes. Sure hope RoM isn't going that way, too.

People weren't making complaint threads, read them again. They were making threads to ask what the issue was and when it was expected to be resolved. "I don't know" is not a good enough answer. The folks that were once Mentors are not Mentors anymore. Some of them have graduated into the role of a Gamemaster. Last I checked, the role of a Gamemaster was to provide support, and news about the game and why it isn't playable. If they're not getting that information, then I feel really bad for them. Gamemasters and Moderators who face the community on a regular basis should know the jist of what is going on and what has been done, as well as the expected date of fix. You name me one recent game where the servers have been down and the GM's just say "We don't know".

And yes, I do have a life and have found plenty to do while the servers have been down. I just take pleasure in bashing Gameforge and their piddly excuse for running a game [into the ground].

you want more info? go to were the information is...complaining that it hasn't been handed to you on a silver platter will get you nowhere. the threads that were closed were essentially butthurt people complaining about not being able to log in, after they have been notified(multiple times) that GF is having issues and they just need to have a little patience.

i'll tell you the same thing i tell all the QQers: if you are so unhappy with GF, why are you here? QQing incessantly about the state of the game, and the state of GF will get u nowhere except maybe a temp vacation. yes, i have my share of complaints too, and i am vocal about them, i will admit that, but i still give GF kudos when they are due...but i don't keep making essentially duplicate threads asking for stuff that has already been answered...

no, i mean they changed login on main website form account name+PW(6 char i think?), to email+8 char PW...people with multiple account per email from a long while ago and people with short PW have issues with logging in and need to go through support...

Firstly, got to love when the newly appointed GM is talking to the playerbase like they're children. Honestly the way that Saito treats the playerbase has always disgusted me, and I really can't believe out of all the mentors HE'S the one they chose to promote, but that's a discussion for another thread.

This is just ridiculous. It's been 2 days. It's the weekend now. Are our servers going to be broken ALL WEEKEND? Cause we all know that these people don't work on weekends.. or holidays.. or at night.. or ever when the US would expect them to be working.

I honestly can't believe your recommendation for people is to "buy diamonds you'll get them when the servers working again". Do you people not realize how absolutely stupid that sounds? Really?

And those of you who are buying diamonds... this is your fault. You keep throwing money at them. You're just as ridiculous as they are. It means NOTHING for you to sit there and say "you guys should treat us better, you guys should fix the servers faster, you guys should repeat sales for us, we should get compensation" but then you go give them your money anyway. Complaints have no validity when you follow it up with: "But I bought diamonds anyway."

There are so many things wrong with this whole situation. So many things. It's disgusting. This is Gameforge. Gotta love them.

Whine and complain all you want. Everyones completely justified with how much this game has gone to crap. It's when you follow it up with "I bought diamonds anyway", that it gets ridiculous. If you bought diamonds anyway there's really no point. You're just showing them that they can do whatever they want, treat us however they want, mess up anything they want, and everyone will still throw money at them. Why would they put in the effort to change anything if people will still give them money regardless?

Heh, after a lil consideration my solution for the new website rules (that completely blindsided me) was to create a new account that met their new criteria. I buy the dias on that account then sell them to my main account via the AH - which until recently wasn't an option lol.


first question id be asking is if you checked the url to be sure you're at the US recharge page, assuming there are still separate pages of course.


I did buy dias no probs for my Artemis account last night once the sale went live - and grudgingly just bought them for my Osha account, though I really have no intention of logging said account til an official post goes up on the boards saying *It's all fixed.* Half fixed doesnt cut it.

yes, i do put forth my opinion, but then i usually let it rest unless it is disputed....i don't make unnecessary and redundant posts blaming people for things out of their control...plus, all the stuff they said in irc they also put on forums...so yes, they did hand it to you on a silver platter if you consider the forums a platter...what do you want? sms updates? they really had no information, and if they lied to us and provided false updates, they would have been just as bad as frogster...

the only exception i can think of is state of scout... WTB scout fix....
